Howard Gordon Johnson Sr., 78, of South Knoxville. He was raised in the Fountain City community. He was a U.S. Army veteran and attended UT. He was co-owner of Waters and Johnson General Construction Co., building many schools and churches. He grew up in Smithwood Baptist Church and has belonged to First Baptist Knoxville for 29 years. James Richard Madden, 75. Dickie was a free spirit, resourceful and venturesome. At the age of 12 he went off with the Midway to see the world. He roamed America, and, in the Army Air Corps as a radar man, he explored Germany.
