Harry Walker Asquith, 87, passed away Jan. 14 at his Fountain City home. Member of Grace Lutheran Church and attended Christus Victor Lutheran Church. Mr. Asquith was a practicing attorney at his Essary Road office for 52 years until his retirement in 1992. He served for many years as the Knox County Tax Attorney and on the Metropolitan Planning Commission. A former chair of the Knox County Democratic Party, he was active in local and state politics. He also served on the board of KCDC and the board of Beta Homes as well as being a longtime supporter of the Great Smoky Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America. U.S. Army veteran. preceded in death by daughter, Pat Asquith; stepson, Kenny Reedy; brother, Bob Asquith; step grandson, Michael Jason Hall. Survived by wife, Mary Asquith; children: Carol Roseberry, Suzy A. Woods, Betty Jo Huffaker, Mike Asquith and their families; stepdaughters, Kay Hickman, Kathy Lami, Sylvia Hall. A 26 year employee of Tennessee Armature and Electric Co., he had retired from Roden Electric Co. U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Martha S.
