The Rev. J.C. Bivens, 71, of Tellico Plains, passed away March 5. Member of Ball Play Tabernacle Church of God where he was pastor for eight years; retired from Pepsi Cola Co. Survived by wife of 52 years, Kate Jones Bivens; daughter, Sherry Diane Lucy; sisters, Barbara Allene Campbell and Merita Hollingshead; brothers: Aaron Bivens, Reece Bivens, the Rev. The Rev. James A. “Ott” Childress, 89, passed away March 11. Member of Northside Baptist Church; retired minister who pastored several churches in Knox and surrounding counties; retired from Knoxville City Schools system; U.S. Army veteran. preceded in death by wife of 66 years, Della M.
