Bobby Lawrence Tidwell
Bobby Tidwell, 80, Paris, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 14 at Ridgeway Funeral Home and cremation will follow.
His wife, Rebecca Nixon Tidwell, died in 1999. He was retired from Holly Carburetor plant, was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of Oak Hill Union Church.
Survivors include his brother, Carroll, Texas; and special friend, Ruby Johnson, Paris.
Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society, c/o Carol Douglas, 1303 Brentwood, Paris, Tenn., 38242.

Ken Hanna
Ken Hanna, 83, Paris, died Sunday morning at the Paris Healthcare Center.
Mr. Hanna worked at the Toggery in Paris most recently. Prior to that, he was a long-time insurance man and worked at Corn-Austin. He was a member of the Paris Lions Club since 1960, a former Chamber of Commerce President and Henry County Man of the Year in 1970. With his wife, Martha, he co-owned Sally Lane's Candy Farm for a few years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.
Calling is at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m.-1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include his wife, Martha; daughter, Robin Hickman, Paris, and brother Clyde, Murfreesboro.
Memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, 313 N. Poplar St., in Paris, where he was a long-time member, former deacon and Sunday School director.

Audrey Allen McClain
Graveside service 2:00 PM Sunday May 7, 2012 at Maplewood cemetery with Bro. Bill Robbins formerly of West Paris Baptist Church officiating.
Named as pallbearers are: Bo David Waldo Lockhart, Houston Kress, Bill Stewart, Todd Tefft, Hank Kress and Daniel Burns; honorary pallbearers: Barbara Roberts and the Humphrey's County Nursing Home Staff.
Visitation Sunday 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the New Johnsonville First United Methodist Church and Monday 12:00 - 1:30 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. McClain was born in Wickliffe, Ky to the late Sandy and Katherine Allen. On December 25, 1928 she married Aaron Layborn "Mac" McClain, he preceded September 18, 1992.
Survived by daughters: Carolyn Baucum, Brentwood, TN, Rebecca (W.C. "Bubba") Lockhart, New Johnsonville, TN; grandchildren: Pat (Hank) Kress, Knoxville, TN, Shelia Baucum, (Bill Stewart), Brentwood, TN, Bo David Waldo (Paula) Lockhart, Tulas, OK, Beth (Todd) Tefft, New Johnsonville, TN; great-grandchildren: Houston Kress, Becca-Rae Tefft, Bryan Allen Tefft, Cameron Tefft; nieces: Sandra Robles, Patty (Dave) Williams; nephews: Bobby (Nancy) Irby and Tommy Irby.

Bob Routon
William Robert (Bob) Routon, M.D., a General Surgeon for 30 years in Humboldt, Tennessee, died on April 26, 2012 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Cause of death was a pulmonary embolism. He was 65.
Born January 8, 1947, in Fulton, KY, he grew up in Paris, TN, graduating from E. W. Grove High School in 1965. After earning a B.S. in electrical engineering from Vanderbilt University, he enrolled at the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in Memphis, where he received his M.D. degree in 1973.
His Internship in Surgery was at City of Memphis Hospitals, followed by a General Surgery Residency at Tampa General Hospital in Florida, where he was the Chief Resident Surgeon. Post-doctoral study was at Duke University, earning the M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering.
Since 1982, he was Chief General Surgeon at Humboldt General Hospital, also serving part-time as Emergency Room Physician when needed.
A multi-talented person, his interests included computers, photography, and art. He was particularly skilled in oil painting and did illustrations for several medical textbooks.
He was preceded in death by parents, Joe and Virginia Routon, of Paris, TN. Survived by son, Rob Routon, and daughter, Emily Routon, both of Germantown, TN. He is also survived by sisters, Amy (Monty) Montgomery of Franklin, TN; Boogle Bradley of Brentwood, TN; and Velma (Tim) Huggins of Cordova, TN; brothers, Joe (Joyce Ann) Routon, Jr., of Haddonfield, NJ; Ed (Jan) Routon of Nashville, TN; and Phil (Marsha) of Paris, TN.
Pallbearers will be Will and Erich Routon; Eliott, Andrew, and Grant Montgomery; and Wesley and Stuart Routon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Bill Wilkerson Rehabilitation Center at Vanderbilt, Suite 9211, 1215 21st Ave. S., Nashville, TN 37232.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 29, from 1:30 until 3:00 at First Baptist Church in Humboldt. The service will be at 3:00; there will be a 5:30 Graveside Service at Maplewood cemetery in Paris.

Janet Garner
Funeral service 11:00 AM Monday at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow at Millcreek Cumberland Presbyterian Church cemetery in Puryear, TN.
Survived by a daughter: Nancy (Rich) Guillemette, Hebron, IN; sons: William "Rick" (Cherie) Garner, Valparaiso, IN, Kerry (Vickie) Garner, Puryear, TN; son-in-law: John Povlinski, Gary, IN; grandchildren: Jeremy Guillemette, Andrea Koran, Daniel, Matthew, Sean and Hannah Garner; great-grandchildren: Kelly and Kimberly Koran and Dixie and David Garner.
Preceded by her parents: William and Lucy Alpha Andres; husband: William Oscar Garner; daughter: Cindy Povlinski; sisters: Emma Swope, Bessie Dunham and a brother: Harry Andres.
Mrs. Garner was a member of the Millcreek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

Frank Gorman
Funeral service 4:00 PM Friday, McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Chester Harrison, "Bro.C", officiating, burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Named as pallbearers are: Kevin Hoofman, Matt Abbott, Brian Elkins and Ryan Gorman.
Visitation 10:00 AM Friday until service time.
He is survived by daughters: Marcia Coleman, Huntingdon, TN, Shelley Jean (Randy) Hoofman, Paris, TN; sons: Randy (Patty) Gorman, Hermitage, TN, Dennis Gregory Gorman, Naples, FL; sister: JoRene Gorman (Ed) McNeil, Paris, TN; grandchildren: Christi Abbott, Ryan Gorman, Brooke French, Kevin Hoofman; great-grandchildren: seven; special friend: Wilma Underwood, Paris, TN; other special friends: Fuzzy and J.O.
Preceded by his parents: Joseph Gorman and Lorene Cates Shelley.
Mr. Gorman was a forty year member of Grace Episcopal Church, 24 year member of the Tennessee Army National Guard and a member of the local VFW. Frank retired from Golden Flake Potato Chip Company as a route supervisor. He was an avid fisherman and his favorite hobby was yard sales

Phyllis Jean Shell
Phyllis Jean Shell, 62, Springville, died April 26, 2012 at Rutherford County.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The body will be cremated.
She married W.L. Douglas Shell and he died in 2007. She was a member of the Kentucky lake Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Douglassa Smothers, Smyrna; two sons, Jeff, Clarksville; and Robert, McKenzie; two sisters, Shirley Barnes, Springville; and Margie Robbins, Paris; and a brother, Randy Vassal, Buchanan, plus numerous grandchildren.

Melody Cochran Wells
Melody is the daughter of Charles Edgar Cochran and Sarah Elizabeth Cate Scott.
Survived by a sister: Valerie (Rick) Caldwell, Paris, TN; brother: Tommy (Belinda) Cochran, Paris; niece: Elizabeth Caldwell, Paris and special friend: Don Darby, Paris.
Preceded by her husband: Richard Wells in 1996.
She was a former flight attendent.

Cynthia Lynn Lewis
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Ross officiating, burial will be in Paris.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers, Ricky Garrett will be an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation 4:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday and after 10:00 AM Wednesday until service time.
She was the daughter of the late Sherman William Morris who preceded in 1995 and Jeanie "Odean" Matheny Morris, she survives, Paris, TN.
Survived by a son: William Scott (Amy) Lewis, Sharon, TN; sisters: Debbie Taylor, Paris, Lori "Katie" (Tommy) Chandler, McKenzie; brothers: Larry "Bucky" Morris, Paris, William B. Morris, Marion, IL; grandchild: Ava Riley Lewis, Sharon and several nieces and nephews.

Melvin Cheek
Funeral service 2:00 PM Friday, McEvoy Funeral Home, his family and friends will conduct the service, burial will follow at Poplar Grove cemetery in Springville, TN.
Named as pallbearers: Tony Velez, Derek Rhoades, Brent Cheek and Mike Parsley; honorary pallbearers: Marcus Velez, Ron Driskill, Michael Driskill, Gary Driskill, Jim Driskill, Danny Driskill.
He was born in Steele, Missouri to the late Joseph Hardy and Ollie Lee Howard Cheek. He married Bertha Ann Cheek on June 22, 1957, she preceded October 25, 1992.
Survived by daughters: Tina (Will) Bailey, Clarksville, TN, Sheila (Randy) Salt, Clarksville, TN; son: Larry E. She was born in Paris, TN to the late Claude and Vera Morgan Redmon.
Survived by daughters: Carol (Gene) Campbell, Mt. Juliet, TN, Nancy (Kevin) Johnson, Dickson, TN; son: Steven (Marion) Rumfelt, Smyrna, TN; sisters: Frances (Bill) Doyle, Tucker, GA, June (Tommy) Paschall, Paris, TN, Doris (John) Champion, Shelbyville, TN, Elsie Randal (Gary) Blackwell, Shelbyville, TN; brothers: Jerald Ray (Ruth) Redmon, Paris, TN, John Larry (June) Redmon, Arlington, TX; grandchildren: Renee' Cagle, Shannon Campbell, Steven Rumfelt, Jr., Johnny Rumfelt, Travis Horne, Amber Perez, Cayla Wilkerson, Jason Horne; great-grandchildren-ten; great great-grandchildren: three; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend: Debbie England and many special friends.
