Vernon Hendrix

He was born in Henry County, TN to the late Curtis and Nell Hendrix. On November 1, 1968 he married
Virginia Sturdivant Hendrix, she survives in Paris.
Survived by a son Mike (Karen) Hendrix, Nashville; brother: Wayne (Diane) Hendrix, Cleveland, OH; grandchild: Keri (Ricky) Brookshire and great-grandchildren: Hannah and Jenna Brookshire.
Preceded by a brother: James Hendrix.
Mr. Hendrix attended First Baptist church in Paris where he was a member of the men's bible class. He was an avid fisherman.
Robbie Burton
Robert "Robbie" Burton, 38, LaFayette, Ind., died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial at Henry City Cemetery.
He was a former Henry Co. resident and a diesel mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Lorrie Walls Burton, LaFayette; father James Burton, LaFayette; daughters Tiffany Richards and Brittany Burton, both of LaFayette; brothers Ronnie, Buchanan; Ricky and Randy, both of Puryear; and several grandchildren.
Dale Albert Hanzl
A memorial service will be held at a later date, Bro. Cory Cain of Maplewood Baptist Church will officiate. McEvoy Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Born in Chicago to the late Albert C. and Alice May Carlson Hanzl. On November 13, 1999 he married
Rebecca Ackerman Hanzl, she survives in Gleason, TN.
Survived by daughters: Daniela Brown, Paris, Conny Brown, Paris; son: Lonnie (Jennifer) Brown, Shelby Forest; grandchildren: Elizabeth Brown, Sophia Alexander; father and mother-in-law: Jerry and Anita Berry, Paris and grandmother-in-law: Rebecca Tarwater, Paris.
Mr. Hanzl was raised in the Methodist Church and gave his life to the Lord in 1999, he attended Maplewood Baptist Church.
He was a 1977 graduate of Gleason High School and graduated from McKenzie Vo Tech as an Industrial Electrician. He worked at McQuay Norris, Calins Industry, Windsor Forestry Tools and last worked for J and J Cupples in Jackson as a Laser Operator.
Friends say that Dale never met a stranger and was loved by all, young and old alike. He loved pets, B movies, Sci-Fi and the History Channel and also was an avid book reader and enjoyed learning about odd things.
Gerald Elkins
Gerald Elkins, age 75, of Camden, Tenn., Long-time resident of Henry County, died Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Jackson Madison Co. Gen. Hosp. in Jackson, Tenn. He Formerly attended Paris Community Bible Church. He Retired after 56 years as a brick mason for Elkins Construction Co. He was A wonderful father that loved his children very much. Many People enjoyed working with him. He was Very well respected & thought of in Henry County Tennessee.
He was the son of the late Melvin Elkins and the late Alice Caroline Sanders Elkins.
He is survived by his Two Daughters, Lisa (Jonathan) Allen of McCaysville, Ga., Christy (Robert) McIntosh of Lake City, Tenn., Two Sons, Tony (Sharon) Elkins of Buchanan, Tenn., Scott (Annette) Elkins of Camden, Tenn., One Sister, Evelyn Axtell of Mountain Home, Idaho, Two Brothers, Gary (Debbie) Elkins of Buchanan, Tenn., Danny Elkins of Puryear, Tenn.

Odell Neal
Odell Neal, age 82, of Paris, Tenn., died Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Benchmark Healthcare of Puryear in Puryear, Tenn. He was First Married to Betty J. Mitchell Neal 11-23-1957 and she preceded in death 1-11-1996. Then he Married Nelliene Greenup Neal and she preceded in death. He was a Member of Central Point Baptist Church and SS Teacher and Formerly attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Henry, TN. He Retired from Plumley Rubber in Paris.
He was the son of the late Archie Neal and the late Edna Bolton Neal.
He is survived by his Two Daughters, Barbara Boyd of Paris, Tenn. and Nancy Nelson of Paris, Tenn.; One Sister, Eva Lindley of Grand Rapids, Mich; 4 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.

David Clendenin
Well-known Musician David Clendenin, 73, of Paris died at his home Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. Clendenin played with Carl Perkins for eight years, with five trips to Europe during that time. He played with Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Mann, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Mel Tillis, and Willie Nelson. He also played with numerous Henry Countians for all types of ceremonies and events. Clendenin used the stage name "David Sea" in his professional career and many Henry Countians have his special guitar picks that he engraved with his name.
McEvoy Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday.
Survivors include his wife, Jacquelyn, three sons, Leslie and Larry, both of Paris; and Jacque Odom, Nashville; sister, Katie Williams, Springville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
DeAnna Latrice Fletcher
DeAnna Fletcher, 37, Paris, died August 28, 2013 at Jackson-Madison Co. General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Funeral Home at noon Saturday.
She was a 1994 graduate of Westview High in Martin and was employed with BlueCross BlueShield in Jacksonville, Fla.
Survivors include two children, Kimberly King of Jacksonville and Kaia Harris of Paris; two brothers Deon Stubblefield, Jacksonville; DaJuan Brown, Atlanta; a sister Vastine Martin of Detroit.
Edith Hart
Edith Hart, 93, Springville, died Sept. 2, 2013 at Henry County Healthcare. Funeral services will be held at Ridgeway Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, with Burial in Henry County Tabernacle Cemetery.
She married
Vernon Hart and he preceded in death. Survivors include three daughters Carolyn Hart, Henry; Ruth Knight, Springville; and Joan Cavasinni of Mentor, Ohio; a son, Bill Hart, Dalton, Ga.; and 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She worked for the Holley carburetor plant and General Electric in Cleveland and was a member of Manleyville Pentecostal Church.
James William "Jimmy" Chandler
Jimmy Chandler, 77, Paris, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial at Walker cemetery in Cottage Grove.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; sons Mark and Mike Chandler, both of Paris; sisters Jaquita Walker, Ill.; Janie McKenzie, Paris; Georgia Smyth, Paris; and two grandchildren.
He worked 25 years for the city of Paris as a policeman, fireman, and meter patrolman. As a fireman, he rescued a six-year-old girl from a burning home on Porter St. After retirement, he was a van driver for the NW Tennessee Resources agency and was a security guard for the Social Security office.
He also worked for Midland Brakes and was a member of the Paris Elks Lodge. He was in the National Guard for seven years and was a member of Cottage Grove Baptist Church and its mens' Sunday School class.
Eva West
Eva West, 92, Dresden, died August 31, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Her husband, Ralph West, preceded her in death. She is survived by a siter Jearline West, Mo.; and nieces and nephews and a good friend, Becky West, Dresden.
She was a member of West Union Baptist Church, Dresden, and worked 23 years for Martin Manufacturing.
Carol Hutson Fayette
Carol Hutson Fayette, 72, formerly of Buchanan, died August 31, 2013 at her daughter's home in Bowling Green, Ky. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial in Bethel Cemetery, Buchanan.

Janet Sandora
Janet Sandora, 73, Springville, died August 31, 2013 at her residence. Survivors include her husband, Richard Sanders. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Sandora, along with two daughters, one son, two sisters, including Carol Lee of Springville; two brothers and several grand and great-grandchildren.
She was retired from Cheeseborough Ponds of Chicago; veteran of the US Army and member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Burbank, Ill.
