L.C. Davis
L.C. Davis, 64, Paris, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at Henry County Medical Center. Graveside services were held Friday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. at Middle Tennessee State Veterans' Cemtery, Nashville. Trinity Funeral Home handled arrangements.
He was born Nov. 14, 1947, in Mississippi, to the late L.C. Davis, Sr. and Mildred Davis. He is survived by sons Thomas and Edmond Davis and six grandchildren.

Peggy Cox
Funeral service 2:00PM Tuesday McEvoy Chapel with Bro. Fred Shakelford of Springhill Baptist Church officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Monday and after 10:00AM Tuesday.
She was born in Jackson, TN to the late William H. and Katherine Kemp Stewart. She married John Cox February 6, 1950, he survives, Paris, TN.
Survived by a daughter: Kathy (Don) Sparks, Henry; son: Ricky (Patty) Cox, Paris; brother: Bill (Avis) Stewart, Jackson; grandchildren: David (Regena) Andrews, Paris, Greg (Kelly) Andrews, Springville, John (Mary) Andrews, Gleason; great-grandchildren: Abigail, Britton, Kane and Blake Andrews, , Zack Braham; step-great grandchildren: Amy and Eric Walker, Tiffany and Nick Oatsvall; two nieces and two nephews.
Preceded by a sister: Betty Carver.
Mrs. Cox was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church. She was retired from Holley Carburetor, a loving mother and wife who also loved gardening and cooking.

Richard Paul Tanner
Funeral service 2:00PM Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home, Pastor Joe Collins, Henry New Life Baptist Church will officiate, burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons: Carl Tanner, Ricky Tanner, Randy Tanner, Chris Cherry, Matt Cherry and David Tanner.
Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Saturday and after 10:00AM Sunday.
He was born in Memphis to the late Richard H. and Lillie Bryan Tanner. On June 7, 1947 he married Wilmadell Lawrence Tanner, she preceded September 29, 2012.
Survived by daughters: Linda Tanner, Peggy Tanner and Marilynn (Steve) Cherry all of Paris; sons: Paul (Carolyn) Tanner, Paris, Danny (Brenda) Tanner, Sparta, Jeff (Kathy) Tanner, Paris; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Tanner was Baptist by faith and had retired from the Henry County Board of Education.

Darlene Taylor
Graveside service 2:00PM Saturday at Bethel cemetery in Buchanan with Bro. Joe Turner, New Harmony Baptist Church, officiating. McEvoy Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
No visitation is scheduled.
Born in Chicago, IL to the late Melvin and Irene Sirles Tiedemann.
She is survived by her husband David P. Taylor of Paris, they were married June 4, 1960; daughter: Darla (Bill) Harmon, San Antonio, TX; son: Anthony Taylor, Nashville; grandchildren: Garrett, Grant, Grace, Jackson and Julia Harmon.
She was a homemaker.

Valeska Palmer
Funeral service 11:00AM Wednesday at the Mansfield Baptist Church, Virgil Bishop, Pastor of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church will officiate, burial will follow at the Mansfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Curtis Neal, David Hall, Earl Williams, Jimmy Hopper, James Glisson and Thomas Fowler.
Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 10:00AM Wednesday at Mansfield Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter: Wanda S. Palmer-Kane, Paris; son: James E. (Miriam) Palmer, Jr., Hermitage; sisters: Frances S. Foust, Mansfield, Betty J. Sutton, Wyandotte, MI; step-granddaughter: Becky (Joel) Koenig, Hermitage; great-grandchildren: Kierran and Declan Meiner, both of Washington State; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Preceded by her parents: Marion F. and Oma Cross Summers; two step-sisters; one step-brother and a granddaughter: Melissa R. Kane-Meiner.
Ms. Palmer had been a member of the Mansfield Baptist Church since 1950. She retired as Postmaster at the Mansfield Post Office after 36 years of service. Graduate of Henry High School, volunteer IRS Tax preparer, was a member of the Henry County Medical Center auxiliary and the Henry County Literary Program.

Nan Williamson Sauer

Mrs. Sauer was born in Mullins, SC to the late Dr. Gustalphus Adolphus Williamson and Mae June Peterson Williamson.
She is survived by her husband Curtis B. Sauer of Ft. Myers, Fl, they were married June 1, 1950; daughters: Elizabeth (Dave) Twigg, Manteca, CA, Nancy (Daniel) Hurt, Paris; grandchildren: Christina Hurt, Curtis, Nan and Mae Twigg.
She died after a 9 year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Memorials may be made to: Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

Stanley Back
Stanley Back, 59, Buchanan, died early Sunday morning at Henry County Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Terri, and mother Ruth Ann Jefferson Back of Springville.
He worked at the Milan Arsenal and Elliott Maintenance Service.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Ricky Kendall
Ricky Kendall, 56, Paris, died Oct. 3, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Rawls Funeral home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Michael A.W. Jones
Michael A.W. Jones, 34, of Memphis formerly of Paris died October 4, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. Arrangements are incomplete at Rawls Funeral Home.

Raymond Earl "Scooter" Dossett
Raymond Dossett, 81, Paris, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at Henry County Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Carrollton, Ky., at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7. Ridgeway Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
He married Laquita Whitmer and she died Nov. 2002. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carrollton and former shift supervisor with Kentucky Utilities in Ghent, Ky.
Survivors include a daughter, Delene Marcelle, Palmyera, ind.; two sons, Michael of Paris; Larry, Manchester, Ga.; two brothers, Don and Tommy of Central City, Ky.

Pauline Reid Snider
Funeral service 1:30PM Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Paris with Dr. Rob Martin officiating, burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brain Robertson, David Robertson, Aaron Fisher, Jonathan Bell, David Gillespie and Richard Kivi.
Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home, after 12:30PM Sunday at First United Methodist Church.
Survived by daughters: Jane (James) Robertson and Ann (Terry) Carter, both of Paris; brothers: Rev. Russell (Christine) Reid, Ripley, Roland (Ann) Reid, Brownsville, Lyle (Elizabeth) Reid, Brownsville, Frank (Geneva) Reid, Wilmington, NC; grandchildren: Brian (Jessica) Robertson, Murfreesboro, David (Elizabeth) Robertson, Franklin, Terri (Aaron) Fisher, West Lafayette, IN, Paula (Jonathan) Bell, Collierville; great-grandchildren: Abby and Mareyn Robertson, Celia and Danielle Robertson, Lauren and Matthew Fisher and Jon Carter Bell.
Preceded by her parents: William Thomas and Jo Stella Williamson Reid; husband Basil G. Snider; two brothers: Noel and Terry Reid.
Mrs. Snider was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paris, U.M.W. and Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Society. She was a former teacher and librarian.

Derrick "Pokey" Allen Vaughn
Funeral service 3:30PM Sunday at the Christ Family Worship Center in Puryear, TN with Bro. Robbie Moore officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Jetton, Jr., Dawayne Bowden, Darrell Vaughn, Mark Lee, Gary Olive and Randall Kelley. Larry Joe smith and Paul Smith will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 1:00PM Sunday at Christ Family Worship Center.
He is survived by his parents: Bobby Darrell and Laura Ann Lee Vaughn, Paris; special friend: Linda Clausen, Paris; son: Dillon Lee Vaughn, Nashville; sisters: Debra (Gary) DuBois, Dover, Dianne Jetton, Bell City, KY, Doretta Vaughn, Paris; brothers: Dennis (Stacy)Jetton, Sr., Bell City, KY, David (Christy) Vaughn, Paris, Darrell Vaughn, Paris, Danny Vaughn, Paris.
Preceded by a brother: Donald Wayne Gilbert; maternal grandparents: Virgil and Gladys Lee and paternal grandparents: William and Nina Vaughn.
"Pokey" was a self employed construction worker. He enjoyed crafts and was an avid fisherman.
