William "Veltman" Stephens
Funeral service 2:00PM Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Hudspeth, Community of Christ Church, Paris, TN and Jeff Tyler, Community of Christ Church, Independence, MO officiating, burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Will Stephens, Jack Brown, Steve Tyler, Jeff Tyler, Danny Freeman and Amanda Futral
Visitation 3:00 - 7:00PM Thursday and after 11:00AM Friday.
He was born in Henry County, TN to the late William Jefferson and Lora Mae Miller Stephens. On August 27, 1955 he married Sue Neal Burnette Stephens, she survives, Florissant, MO.
Survived by sons: David Michael (Kathleen Kastelic) Stephens, Tulsa, OK, Barry Neal (Becky) Stephens, Dallas, TX; sisters-in-law: Imogene Stephens, Paris, TN, Geraldine Stephens, Paris, TN, Sue Stephens, Detroit, MI, Pat Stephens, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Will Stephens, Kelsey Stephens, Hayley Stephens, Shannon Wilcox, Callie Stephens; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Preceded by sisters: Loetta Tyler, Violet Tyler, Virginia Stephens, preceded in infancy; six brothers: Lloyd, James, Harvey, Frederick, Johnson and Eual Stephens.
Mr. Stephens was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He graduated from Puryear High School in 1948 and from Finlay Engineering College in Kansas City, MO with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, he retired as Vice President of Engineering at Crane Company after 25 years. He served 4 years in US Navy Air.

Eunice Elizabeth Lockman
Eunice Lockman, 85, Paris, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at Plumley Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 11 a.m. Thursday.
She married Rupert Lockman, who preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra Jones, Lexington; Judy Farris, Paris; carl Beverly, Corinth, MS; a son, Mike Lockman of Paris; and grand and great-grandchildren.
She was retired as assistant director of nursing at Henry Co. Medical Center, where she worked for 30 years.

June Foster
June Foster died Sunday, September 23rd, at Jackson- Madison County Hospital. She is preceded in death by husband Jim Foster. They were married May 28th, 1955. She was born June 21st, 1938. She was the daughter of Willie and Emma Whited of Lebanon, TN. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and enjoyed bowling. She owned and operated the dairy queen in Paris for many years with her late Husband Jim. She leaves three sons; James Andrew (Charlotte) Foster, Jeffrey William (LeAnne) Foster, Joel Wayne (Dina) Foster, all of Paris. She leaves one sister, Rose Bowman of Paris and one brother, Mack Whited of Lebanon, TN. She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. She leaves five grandchildren; Misty Foster, Rocky Foster, Dustin Foster, Dakota Foster, and Jordan Foster. One great grandson Jackson Foster, two step-grandchildren; Jasmine and Khalid Al-Hamad, and one great step-grandchild, Scott Bizeau.
Graveside services for June Marie Foster, age 74, will be held Tuesday September 25th at 4pm at Memorial Cemetery. David Harrison afficiating.

Gary Lynn Foust
Gary Foust, 56, Paris, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at his residence. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Shiloh Methodist Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Etta smith nicols, Paris; step-daughter, Marcia Townsend, Milligan; three sisters, Carol Simmons, Paris; Rita Lossie and Judi Davis, both of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Foust was a carpenter and member of Paris Community Bible Ray of Hope Church, Paris.

Margie Parish Scott
Margie Scott, 83, Puryear, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at Spring Creek Nursing Home, Murray. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral home, with burial in the family cemetery in Puryear.

Nell Pillow
Nell Pillow, 88, Paris, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at Paris Healthcare. Graveside services will be held at Birds Creek cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may call at Ridgeway Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Monday and 11-1 p.m. Tuesday.
She married Winston Pillow and he died earlier this year. She was a member of the East Wood Church of Christ and worked for the Mitchum Co. She also worked for Dr. Chesmore's office.
Survivors include Traci Pillow, Paris; a son, Joe, Murfreesboro; and grand and great-grandchildren.

William Dean
William Dean, 50, Paris, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at New Liberty Cemetery. The family requests memorials be directed to Henry Co. Medical Center Hospice, 311 E. Wood St., Paris.
He worked as a brick mason and attended Point Pleasant baptist Church as a youth.
Survivors include his mother, Betty Lou Boyd, Paris; two daughters, April Perry, Paris; Rachael Dean, Paris; three sisters, Shirley Starnes and Tishia Sisemore, both of Paris; and Amy Conner, Puryear.

Helen Marie McCane
Mrs. Helen Marie McCane, 82, of Paris died Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at Henry County Medical Center.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Rawls Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Fowler officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon on Saturday.

Robert Purvis
Funeral service 11:00AM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Martin of the First United Methodist Church officiating, burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brad White, David Perkins, Jim McCampbell, Dan Purvis, Donald Barnes and Stacy Marr. Honorary pallbearers will be The Tuesday night small engine class.
Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Friday and after 10:00AM Saturday.
He was born in Alamo, Georgia to the late Charles C. and Mary F. Collins Purvis. On June 2, 1963 he married Carolyn Owen Purvis, she survives in Paris.
Survived by daughters: Vicki Purvis, Ashville, NC, Lora (Jim) McCampbell, Puryear; sister: Lula (David) Cox, Barberville, FL; brother: Richard (Florence) Purvis and a grandchild: Kelli McCampbell, Puryear.
Preceded by three grandchildren: Robert Pierce McCampbell, Jim Houston McCampbell, Kathryn Elizabeth McCampbell, one sister and five brothers.
Mr. Purvis was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Viet Nam and retiring as First Sargent after twenty years of service. He taught the Small Engine Repair Class at the Tennessee Technology Center in Paris for fourteen years, formerly worked for Loomis-Fargo out of Nashville and also worked for Bearing and Supply in Paris for six years. Robert was an avid supporter of Lifeline Blood Services and was a donor of more than twenty gallons.

Juanita Hinson
Juanita Hinson, 78, Paris, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at Plumley Rehab in Paris. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with burial in Bethel Cemetery, Buchanan.
She married James Paul Hinson Sr., and he died in 1989. She was the retired owner-operator of Hinson's Residential Home and a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
She is survives by a brother, Herbert Rogers, Paris; and many grand and great-grandchildren.

Larry Laffoon
Larry Laffoon, 71, Springville, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m. Monday.
Laffoon married Martha Clever Merrell and she survives with two sons, Larry Hall, Indiana; Alan Laffoon of Indiana and five step-children and several grand and great-grandchildren.
He retired in 2003 after 23 years as maintenance manager at Henry Co. Healthcare.

James Steve Carroll
Steve Carroll, 53, Puryear, died Sept. 12, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at Chase Funeral Home, Huntingdon, at 2 p.m. Saturday, with burial at Palmer Shelter cemetery in Carroll Co.
Survivors include his wife, Judy McClanahan Carroll, his daughter, Jennifer Arnold, Gleason; a son, Jonathan Carroll, Iowa; a stepson, James McClanahan, Mt. Vernon, Ill; four sisters, a brother and several grandchildren.
He was a member of the Army National Guard and a member of the Puryear Church of Christ.

Stella Estella Thurmond
Stella Thurmond, 87, Buchanan, died Sept. 13, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ridgewary Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
She married Ralph Thurmond and he is deceased. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Rudd, Buchanan; Cynthia Day of Memphis; a sister, Marlene Emerson, Dyer, Tenn.; and numerous grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.

Rae Ashmore
Mr. Rae Ashmore, 64, of Buchanan died Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at Henry County Healthcare. Arrangements at Rawls Funeral Home are incomplete.

Randall Robert Jordan
Randall Jordan, 50, Henry, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Survivors include four daughters, Randie Monroe, Suealice Maturo, both of Henry; Kimber Buckman, Kentucky; Jennifer, Indiana; a son, Christopher Jordan, Mayfield; a brother, Jummy, Evansville.
