Eulalia Brewer
Beloved woman, Eulalia Bowles Brewer, age 86, of Paris, Tennessee, ascended to eternity with her Savior on February 4, 2014.
Born May 6, 1927, she graduated from E.W. Grove High School and Toler Business College.
She is survived by three daughters, Jane (Mike) Plumley of Franklin, TN, Ann (Louis) Robbins of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Lalia Winsett of Paris; 9 grandchildren, Chris (Hyekyung) Plumley, Matthew (Shellie) Plumley, Michael Plumley, Rachel (Scott) Parker, Natalie Robbins, Jonathan Robbins, Dana (John) Chango, Lindsay (Nathan) Smith, Kasey (Cliff) Barna; 12 great- grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Mildred Holland of Camden, TN.
She was preceded in death by her husband Doyle Brewer of 67 years; son-in-law, David Winsett; her parents, Fred Wharton and Fannie Burton Bowles; and three brothers: Thomas Franklin, Fred Burton, and John Claiborne Bowles.
Having lost her mother at age 5, she was lovingly raised in the home of her aunt and uncle, Lizzie and George Wynns, and cousin, Philip Wynns, of Elkhorn, TN.
Mrs. Brewer was a faithful, charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was active in United Methodist Women and serving in ministries to others. Before retirement, she was employed by Clippard Industries and Markel Lighting.
Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 pm and after 9 am Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will be Saturday at 11 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home with Cliff Barna and Rev. Jolinne Downey officiating. Burial will follow in Elkhorn cemetery with Rev. Mike Wimberley conducting the graveside.
Pallbearers will be Chris Plumley, Matthew Plumley, Michael Plumley, Mike Plumley, Jonathan Robbins, Louis Robbins, Fred Bowles, and David Dunlap.
Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 409 North Wilson St., Paris, TN 38242.
Her daughters and family cherish her self- sacrificing life and the loving example she leaves. She truly lived for Jesus and for her family and others.

Barbara Smyth
Barbara Jean Simmons Smyth, of Athens and Paris, TN, passed away on January 30, 2014. She was 87.
Born in New Providence, KY to Orval and Maybelle Simmons, Barbara and her family moved to Paris in 1936, where her parents owned Simmons Dairy and her father was part owner of Paris Livestock Co. Barbara attended Grove High School and graduated in 1944 as valedictorian. She was a journalism and English major at Murray State before stopping to help out with the office work at the dairy. She continued there after the company’s acquisition by Smyth Dairy of Cottage Grove, and consolidation into Paris Dairy. She and the owner’s son, Marvin, married in 1947 and continued to operate the dairy until its sale in 1965.
Following the sale of the dairy, and after working for several years at Paris Insurance Agency, Barbara began as a teller at Paris Federal Savings. She advanced to become an assistant vice president at Liberty Federal Savings Bank and retired from Union Planters after more than 22 years in the banking industry. After retirement, she put her knowledge of banking and business to work through her volunteer efforts with SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives).
Barbara was an active member of the Quota Club for more than 35 years, serving as club president, District Governor and South Area Director of Quota International. She was a volunteer at the Heritage Center and was an officer and a member of the board of the Lee School Association. She was a longtime active member of the East Wood Church of Christ.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Marvin in 1984. She is survived by her six children: Carol Walden (David) of Athens, TN; Don (Suzanne) of Etowah, NC; Kent (Vanessa) of Dickson, TN; Mark (Lynnette) of Barnesville, GA; Nancy of Nashville, TN; David (Larry Zimmermann) of Maplewood, NJ; six grandchildren: Matthew Walden (Kristine) of Athens, TN; Jennifer Kittles (Damon) of Asheville, NC; Jessica Smyth (Roxanna Ramirez) of San Antonio, TX; Evan Walden (Kari) of Athens, TN; Andrew Smyth of Tallahassee, FL and Patrick Smyth (Leigh Anna) of Atlanta, GA; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 3rd at 11:00 at McEvoy Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, February 2nd, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Robert E. Lee School Association or the American Heart Association.

Dale Bennett
Dale R. Bennett CPD, Age 52 died January 22, 2014 in Chicago, IL.
Dale was the Beloved husband of Catherine Maher Bennett; Loving father of Lauren, Brooke and Dayle Bennett all of Chicago, IL, Devoted son of Thurman (Willodene) Bennett of Como, TN and the late June Bennett, Dear brother of David (Cynthia) Bennett, Denise (Irma) Bennett, Duane (Jean) Bennett and Norge Roi of and Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Dale was a Chicago Police Department Officer and a loyal friend to many. He was an avid outdoorsmen, hunter and fisherman and a Lifelong NRA member.
Visitation was Monday January 27, 2014 from 3-9pm at the Andrew J. McGann & Son Funeral Home 10727 S. Pulaski Rd. Chicago, IL. The funeral service was at the Bethel Bible Church (3225 W. 96th St. Evergreen Park) at 10:00am Tuesday January 28, 2014.
Ridgeway Funeral Home will conduct the graveside service which will be Friday January 31, 2014 at 10 am at Olive Branch cemetery between Como and Cottage Grove, TN.
Rex Buford of Como Church of Christ will officiate.

Kenneth Hudgins
Kenneth Hudgins, age 72 of Paris, died Monday January 27th, 2014 at Henry County Medical Center.
Mr. Hudgins was an active outdoorsman who loved to exercise and loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Kenneth was preceeded in death by both parents. He leaves behind his wife, Joyce Allen Hudgins, of Paris. They were married in 1966.
He also leaves behind two daughters, one son, one brother, one sister, several grandchildren and other family and friends.
Visitation will be 4-8pm on Thursday January 30th at McEvoy Funeral home.
Memorials may be made to: Paris Henry County Food Bank, 55 Jones Bend Road Ext., Paris, TN 38242

Frieda Elkins
Frieda Sophie Eismann Elkins, age 94, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn.
She was married to Travis T. Elkins and he preceded in death. Frieda was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was a daughter of the late Henry Eismann and the late Bertha Wolff Eismann.
She is survived by One Daughter, Mary (Richard) Boughton of Lake Village, Ind.; One Son, Douglas N. (Ellen) Henderson of Lakeview, Texas; One Sister, Evelyn Hanley of Buchanan, Tenn.; One Brother, John Eisman of Buchanan, Tenn.; 3 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn.
Mrs. Elkins will be Cremated and no service is planned.

Freddie C. Phelps
Freddie C. Phelps, age 74 of Paris, died Saturday, January 25th, 2014 at Jackson - Madison County Genral Hospital in Jackson, Tenn.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time and are being handled by Trinity Funeral Home.

Jerome E. Kudrna
Jerome E. Judrna, age 90, of Buchanan, passed away Saturday January 25th, 2014 at Henry County Medical Center.
Jerome was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in WWII. He was a member of the Amvets Post 45. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and was an avid Cubs fan.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Donna Bankey
Donna Jean Bankey, age 77 of Buchanan, Tenn., died Saturday, January 25th, 2014 at her residence.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Eugene Bankey, who passed in 1999.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time and are being handled by McEvoy Funeral Home.

Betty Howard
Betty Jane Howard, age 59 of Trezevant, Tenn., formerly of Paris, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Howard was a proud member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Trezevant.
She is preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Williams and Elizabeth Anne Tharpe Williams, as well as her son Justin Howard.
Betty Howard is survived by her husband John S. Howard of Trezevant, their daughters Beverly (Alvin) Newsom of Nashville, Deborah (Byron Roberson) Franklin of Atlanta, and Pamela (Randall Pritchard) Hudson of Paris, along with nine grandchildren.
Howard is also survived by sisters Sheila (Larry Howard) Williams of Paris, Peggy Sims of Paris, and Shirley Moore of Nashville, along with brothers Ricky Williams, Michael Williams, James Williams, and Billy Williams, all of Paris.
Visitation for friends and family of Betty Howard will be held from 4 to 8 PM Friday, January 31st at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday, February 1st at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Clifford Swindle, Sr.
Clifford A. Swindle, Sr., age 75 of Paris, died on Monday January 20th, 2014 at his residence.
He was preceeded in death by his parents Lee Swindle and Josie Denton. He leaves his daughter Tracy (Ray) Williams of Utah and son Michael Swindle of Tennessee along with some grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

Vonda Harpole
Vonda Bozarth Harpole, age 62, of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Jackson Madison Co. Gen. Hosp. in Jackson, Tenn.
She was married April 2, 1995 to Jimmy Ray Harpole and he survives.
She was a former Title Researcher at Foundation Bank and a former licensed surveyor for L.I. Smith.
She was born June 16, 1952 in Nashville, TN to the late John Bozarth and Juanita Vean Bozarth of McMinnville, TN.
Besides her husband Jimmy and mother, Juanita, she is also survived by her One Son, Shiva (Brandi) Bozarth of Franklin, TN; Step Mother, Betty Bozarth of Franklin, TN; Two Brothers, John (Noy) Bozarth, II of Atlanta, Ga, Michael (Carolyn) Bozarth of McMinnville, Tenn; Grandchild, Max Bozarth of Franklin, TN; Nieces and Nephews, Tiffany Bozarth, Eric Lee Bozarth, Jared Bozarth, Christina Bozarth, Jacob Bozarth, and Lance Bozarth; And Many Friends.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the Memorial Visitation will be from 2 – 3 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014. The Memorial Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 3:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014.
Joe Page will officiate.
