Shirley Laverne Parker, 65, Clarksville, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Gateway Medical Center.

Leonard Pickering
Leonard B. Pickering, 85, Nashville, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at the Spring Meadows Nursing Home.

Margaret Powell
Margaret Crutcher Powell, 87, Elizabethtown, Ky., formerly of Dover, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at Manor House of Dover.

Ortha Page
Ortha Mae Page, 74, Dover, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2001, at Trinity Hospital, Erin.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Sykes Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ricky Parker officiating. Burial will be in  Jackson Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born March 12, 1927, in Trigg County, Ky., daughter of Samson Mathis and Elizabeth Knight Mathis. She was the widow of Leamon Page.
Mrs. Page was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Page, Dover; two brothers, Cecil Mathis and James Mathis, both of Dover; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Boren, John Bryant, Brian Morgan, Bill Parsons, Larry Smith and James Tolley.

Dora Elrod
Dora G. Devers Elrod, 93, Clarksville, died Friday, July 6, 2001, at the Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the Sykes Funeral Home with the Rev. E.G. Sims officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
She was born on March 18, 1908, in Montgomery County, daughter of Frank Devers and Emma Wall Devers. She is the widow of Arthur W. Elrod.
She was preceded in death by a son, Frank Elrod, and a daughter, Dolly Riggins.
Mrs. Elrod was a homemaker and a member of the Locust Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Earl Elrod, Palmyra, and Paul Elrod, Cunningham; four daughters, Dorothy Durham, Portland, Ind., Sue Norfleet, Shirley Riggins and Violet Tapper, all of Clarksville; a sister, Audrey McCloud, Clarksville; 21 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Elrod, Lonnie Elrod, Marty Elrod, Terry Elrod, Bret Norfleet and Steve Shreeve.

Lucille Britt
Lucille Wooten Britt, 84, Clarksville, died Saturday, July 7, 2001, at the Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Monday at the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Burris officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1916 in Stewart County, daughter of Douglas Suiter and Robbie Nale Suiter.
Mrs. Britt was retired from Fort Campbell civil service and a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Bethleham.
Survivors include her husband, Jessie Britt, Clarksville; a son, Ronnie Wooten, Clarksville; four daughters, Elaine Shirriff, Abington, Mass., Faye Cowan, Brighton, Mich., Mary Ann Delvendahl and Sue Butram, both of Clarksville; three sisters, Laverne Winfree, Jean Strange and Betty Gibbs, all of Clarksville; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Thomas Wilson Page Sr., 75, Clarksville, died Monday, June 25, 2001, at Gateway Medical Center.

Harold Boguskie
Harold M. "Buster" Boguskie, 77, longtime Metro Nashville councilman, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Gateway Medical Center of a heart attack. Mr. Boguskie had lived here with his son, Denny Boguskie.
The funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Nashville with the Rev. Billy R. Moore and Bobby Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Nashville.
Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Oct. 27, 1923, son of John T. and Nellie Hailey Boguskie.
Mr. Boguskie served as charter member of the Metro Nashville city council from 1963 to 1995. He also was a professional baseball player with the Nashville Vols, served in the military during World War II and sold sporting goods.
Survivors include wife Inez Boguskie, daughter Gail Wilson, of Goodlettsville, his son, sister Lorain Smiyh, of Jacksonville, Fla., and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stratford High School (Nashville) Athletic Fund or the Twitty City Baseball Club in Goodlettsville.

Martha Sue Huddleston Boyd, 60, Hot Springs, Ark., died Friday, June 15, 2001, at the National Park Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on today at Nave Funeral Home in Erin, with Rev. V. R. Hanline and Rev. Orman Meadows officiating. Burial will be in McDonald Cemetery in Tennessee Ridge.
Visitation will be today from 8 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
She was born on June 11, 1941, in Houston County, daughter of John and Grace Stinson Wilson.
Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker and a member of the Crossroads Pentecostal Church of Erin.
In addition to her husband, Lawrence Boyd Sr., Hot Springs, Ark., survivors include a son, John Huddleston, Groveland, Fla.; step-sons, Lawrence Boyd Jr., Tennessee Ridge, Gene Huddleston, Crumps, Fla., and Jimmy Huddleston, DeBerry, Fla.; daughters, Gayla Hogue, Bowling Green, Ky., Felicia Horton, Saganaw, Mich., Stephannie Brumley, Rock Port, Ky., Rebecca Veitenheimer, Stewart; step-daughters, Jeanette Nettleton, Erin, Kimberly Pulliam, Tennessee Ridge, Theresa Varden, Hot Springs, Ark., Gloria Funk, Russellville, Ky.; brother, Chester Wilson, Evansville, Ind.; sisters, Eva Dean Jenkins, Penrod, Ky., and Joyce Willis, Russelville, Ky.; nine grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Audrey Redden
Audrey Marie Redden died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at  Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Warren Medley officiating. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.
She was born in Dickson County daughter of Thomas Howard and Mary Cannon Haley Redden.
Ms. Redden was an inspector and office clerk at the former Schrader's Automotive Parts in Dickson. She was member of Dickson's First Baptist Church.
Survivors include brothers Cannon Redden, of Hohenwald, Donald Redden and Jerry Redden, both of Dickson, and sisters Evelyn Choate and Frances Moore, both of Dickson, several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be George Dufty, Mickey Burch, Larry Redden, Joe T. Redden, Gary Kimmons, Donald Redden, Delbert Haley and Billy J. Redden.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.

Leonard Myrl Whittenburg, 76, Ashland City, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Jerry Willard Blackard, 61, Ashland City, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Gateway Medical Center.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sango Cemetery with the Rev. Tony Miller officiating.
Sykes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 23, 1939, in Clarksville, son of Glen Dorris and Francis Swift Blackard.
Survivors include a son, Steve Blackard, Ft. Worth, Texas; a daughter, Jamie Blackard Ponder, Bon Aqua; two brothers, Glen Blackard and Jack Blackard, both of Clarksville; three sisters, June Ball, Owasso, Mich., Ann Long, Knoxville, and Faye Winters, Kingston Springs; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jack Blackard, Steve Blackard, Jimmy Long, Kevin Monroe, Kirk Ponder and Jerry Winters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Maurice Lyle Thomas, 66, Palmyra Road, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sykes Funeral Home with Tommy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born April 17, 1935, in Clarksville, son of Wilbur and E.C. Talley Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a painter and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three brothers, Bill Thomas, Layton, Utah, Gene Thomas, Beech Grove, and Tommy Thomas, Pine Mountain, Ga.; and two sisters, Martha Sanders and Brenda Brooks, both of Clarksville.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
