Kathy Swoape
Kathy Althea Swope, age 59 of Paris, Tenn., died Wednesday, August 6 at her residence.
Swoape was an LPN for over 30 years in both Middle Tennessee and the Paris area. She was very dedicated to her job and loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was a member of Buchanan United Methodist Church.
Swoape is preceded in death by her parents, Johnie Neal Ghea and Betty Lucille Hinson Ghea.
She is survived by her brothers, Garry Ghea of Tullahoma, Tenn. and Larry (Linda) Hice of Murfreesboro, Tenn., her son Robert (Tammie) Rogers of Wilmore, Ky., and grandchildren Bethany Rose Rogers, Brandon Paul Rogers, and Briana Grace Rogers.
Arrangements are being handled by McEvoy Funeral Home and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Chesley Walker
Chesley D. Walker, age 90 of Paris, Tenn., died Sunday, August 10 at Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Huntingdon, Tenn.
Walker married Lennie Lee Smith Walker August 2, 1952; she preceded him in death on November 1, 2001.
Mr. Walker was a U.S. Navy veteran in WWII and an Army veteran in the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart.
He worked over ten years at Holley Carburetor and several years at the Milan Arsenal. He enjoyed bluegrass and country music and loved to travel.
He was born July 23, 1924 in Buchanan, Tenn., to Dewey Walker and Sudie Belle McFarland Walker.
Walker is preceded in death by two sisters; Ima Lee Walker and Birdie Walker; three brothers; Leslie Walker, Franklin Walker, and Doris Walker; and one son, Timmy Lee Walker, who died in infancy in 1959.
Walker is survived by his sister Henda Maye (Leon) Peyton of Howell, Mich.; sons Kenneth Walker of Paris, Tenn. and Johnny D. Walker of Nashville; and nephews David and Jerry Peyton of Michigan.
Visitation for Walker will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM Monday, August 11 and after 10 AM Tuesday, August 12 at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at McEvoy Funeral Home at 11 AM Tuesday, August 12 with burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.

Frances Odom
Frances A. Fielder Odom, age 87 of Paris, Tenn., died Friday, August 8 at her residence.
She was married June 12, 1946 to James Tyron "Ty" Odom; he died Nov. 22, 1997. She then married July 4, 1999 to Erbie Dwight Odom and he died July 29, 2003.
Frances was born August 12, 1926 in the old 23rd District of Henry Co. near Springville, TN. She was the daughter of the late Edgar Lonzo Fielder and the late Della Florence Christopher Fielder.
She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church since 1950 and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and many years ago she would pick up lots of children in a pick-up truck and take them to Vacation Bible School. She was also one of the founding members of the WMU at Springhill Baptist Church.
Frances is survived by her One Daughter, Kay (Johnny) Foust of Paris, Tenn; Three Sons, Gary D. (Paula) Odom of Paris, Tenn; Wayne (Sandy) Odom of Paris, Tenn; Terry (Amy) Odom of Paris, Tenn; One Sister, Wretha Brown of Florida;
12 Grandchildren, Dennis Odom, Stacey Odom, Mandy Davidson, Clint Odom, Abbey Martin, Amy Fox, Leslie Odom, Emily Odom, Alicia Jones, Matt Matheny, Cindy Stookey, Allison Evans, Brevin Odom, and Phoebe Odom;
21 Great Grandchildren, Hayley Odom, Hannah Odom, Collins Davidson, Everett Martin, Colby Fox, Logan Fox, Chance Robinson, Grace Parrish, Eve Parrish, Taxannah Garcia, Jack Riley Odom, Cecelia Odom, Madison Matheny, Olivia Jones, Austin Buffington, Courtney Stookey, Amber Scott, Natalie Stookey, Alex Evans, Luke Stookey, and Cass Evans.
Besides her Husbands and Parents, Frances was also preceded in death by Sisters, Bessie Fletcher, Katie Brinkley, and Pauline Lassman; Brothers, G.B., Tommie, Talmadge, Stirl, Tyrus, J.D., Corky, and Billy Fielder.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 3 – 8 pm Saturday, August 9, 2014. Visitation will continue on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 1 – 3 pm at Springhill Baptist Church with the Funeral service at Springhill Baptist Church at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 10, 2014.
Burial will follow in Memorial cemetery in Paris, Tenn.

Chester Singleton
Chester Lee Singleton, age 77, of Paris, Tenn., died Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at his residence in Paris, Tenn.
He was married August 8, 1959 to Elwanda Sue Grainger Singleton and she died July 28, 2013. Chester formerly served in the National Guard and retired after 28 years with Midland Brake in Paris. He enjoyed wood working, gardening, and motorcycle riding.
He was the son of the late Joseph Singleton and the late Mary Ann Warmack Singleton.
He is survived by his One Daughter, Cindy (Keith) Cherry of Paris, Tenn; Two Sons, Johnnie Singleton of Puryear, Tenn, Lonnie Singleton of Paris, Tenn; Daughter-in-law, Debra Singleton of Paris, Tenn; One Sister, Shirley Jacobson of Greenville, Miss; Two Brothers, Edgar Singleton of Paris, Tenn, Roger Singleton of Paris, Tenn; 8 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren; Special Nephew, Ronnie Singleton and Several other Nieces and Nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Thursday, August 7, 2014 and after 9 am Friday, August 8, 2014. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Friday, August 8, 2014.
Doyle Watts will officiate.
Interment will be at Poplar Grove cemetery in Springville, Tenn.

Sue Adams Ray
Sue Adams Ray died at the age of 67 at Paris Healthcare Center.
Sue was a member of TVCC and wroked at Henry County Nursing Home as an RNA and a cashier at Walmart for over ten years. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and cooking.
Visitation will be at McEvoy Funeral home Wednesday August 6 from 4-8pm and after 11am on Thursday Aug. 7. Funeral will be 1pm Thursday with burial to follow in Birds Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dorothy Irby
Dorothy Linn Irby, age 88 of Henry, Tenn., died Saturday, August 2 at Paris Healthcare.
Visitation for Irby will be held from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, August 3rd as well as Monday, August 4th starting at 9 AM at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home starting at 10 AM, with burial to follow in Henry City Cemetery.

Judy Chenoweth
Julia "Judy" Chenoweth, age 70 of Paris, Tenn., died Friday, August 1st at her residence.
Ms. Chenoweth was a member of First United Methodist Church in Paris.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Chenoweth and Mary Ruth Neese Chenoweth.
Chenoweth is survived by her sister, Jane Chenoweth of Paris, uncle Robert (Janice) Chenoweth of Springville, Tenn., aunt Annette Bennett of Poway, Calif., and several cousins.
She is also survived by her special friend, her black poodle "Gigi".
Visitation for Ms. Chenoweth will be held from noon to 2 PM Sunday, August 3rd at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday, August 3rd at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery.

Truman Shelton
Truman Shelton, age 74 of Springville, Tenn., died Friday, August 1 at Henry County Medical Center.
Shelton was born Feburary 26, 1940 to the late William and Mae Francis Onan Shelton.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Manning Shelton, whom he married May 1, 1982.
He is also survived by his son Truman (Naomi) Shelton II of Hobart, Ind., daughter Peggy (Jason) Murphy of Hobart, Ind., and three grandchildren, as well as sisters Peggy Hicks, Loretta (Buck) Davich, Effie Ruel, Teresa Gentry, and Kathy (Larry) Yarborough.
He is preceded in death by sister Betty Brown.
A memorial service for Truman Shelton will be held Wednesday, August 6 at 3 PM in the Annabelle Room of Buchanan Resorts.

Kathy Chandler
Kathy Lynn Chandler, age 56, of Mansfield, Tenn., died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at her residence in Mansfield, Tenn.
She was married March 12, 2001 to Alan Chandler and he survives.
Kathy formerly worked at Tecumseh and Republic Steel Doors until her health forced her to retire.
She was born January 16, 1958 in Highland Park, MI to the late Stanley Capps and the late Adell Byars Capps Ballard.
Besides her Husband, Kathy is also survived by her One Daughter, Mandy Hoofman of Paris, Tenn; One Son, Allen Pinkston of Puryear, Tenn; One Sister, Carolyn Morgan of Paris, Tenn; One Brother, Richard (Marilyn) Capps of Washington; Two Grandchildren, Skylar Hoofman and Brittney Hoofman of Paris, TN.
Kathy was also preceded in death by a Sister, Judy McDonald and Brothers, Mike Capps and John Capps.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn. She is to be cremated with a Memorial visitation to be held from 12 – 2 pm Saturday, August 2, 2014. The Memorial Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 2, 2014.
Patricia Todd will officiate.
