Henry White
Henry Allen White, age 92 of Paris, died April 5th at his residence.
Mr. White was a U.S. Navy veteran from June of 1941 until June of 1965. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor and served in the South Pacific Theater. After retiring from the Navy Henry worked in California as plant engineer for Chemtronics where parts were manufactured for jet engines. He was a member West Murray Church of Christ and enjoyed wood working.
Visitation will be 4-7pm on Tuesday April 8th and 9am until service time on Wed. April 9th. Funeral service will be at 10am Wednesday April 9th at McEvoy Funeral home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.

Iowanda Williams
Iowanda V. Williams, age 78 of Paris, died Sunday April 6th at Henry County Healthcare Center.
She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday April 8th from 4-8pm and after 11am on Wednesday April 9th. Funeral will be at 1pm Wednesday April 9th at McEvoy Funeral home with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Retha Hickman
Retha Carleen Hickman, age 73 of Paris, died Thursday, April 3 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 5 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted in LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home Saturday, April 5 at noon with burial to follow at Henry County Tabernacle Cemetery.

Sharon Webb
Sharon Webb, age 54 of Paris, died Thursday, April 3 at her residence.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time and are being handled by McEvoy Funeral Home.

Fred William Tharpe, Sr.
Fred WIlliam Tharpe, Sr., age 74 of Paris, died Thursday, April 3 at Jackson - Madison County General Hospital.
Visitation will be held at Rawls Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM Monday, April 7.
Funeral services will be conducted at Covenant United Methodist Church Tuesday, April 8 at 1 PM with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Jerry Palmer
Jerry Palmer, 57 of Buchanan, died Wednesday April 2nd at his residence.
Visitation will be held Saturday April 5th 11am-1pm at McEvoy Funeral Home with service time at 1pm.

James Haywood
James Leonard “Jimmy” Haywood, age 85, of Dunwoody, Ga, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Agape Hospice House in Winder, Ga.
He was born June 30, 1928, in Paris, he was a son of the late Jules Floyd Haywood Sr. and Mable Hill Haywood.
His wife, Verne Clementine Odom Haywood, died March 20, 1994.
Haywood was a member of Dunwoody Baptist Church. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he served in the 101st Airborne Division. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and earned his bachelor’s degree from Murray State University. He was also a member of the Murray State University Alumni Association and former president of the Sandy Springs, Ga., Civitan Club.
He leaves two sons: Dr. Mark G. (Patricia A.) Haywood of Duluth, Ga., and Steve Haywood and friend Renee Chester of Cumming, Ga.; one sister: Rosalyn Haywood of Murray; a sister-in-law: Carolyne Giles Haywood of Tifton, Ga.; Three grandchildren: Brett (Teresa) Haywood of Woodstock, Ga., Bryan Haywood of Atlanta; and Holly Haywood of Duluth; and two great-grandchildren: Nathaniel and Elliott Haywood, both of Woodstock.
He also was preceded in death by a brother: Jules Floyd Haywood Jr.; and a grandchild: Amanda Haywood.
The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Brian Wimberley will officiate. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the service on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

John Thomas Mann
John Thomas Mann, age 89, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, March 31, 2014, at Paris Healthcare & Rehab Center in Paris, Tenn.
He was married September 24, 1950 to Janice Maxedon Mann, and she survives.
He was born January 16, 1925 in Cottage Grove, TN to the late E.K. Mann and the late Eva Holden Mann.
John was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a WW II and Korean Army Air Corps veteran serving in the American and Asian Pacific Theaters. He was a Lifetime member of VFW and American Legion. He owned and operated The Dairy Supply Company in Paris for many years.
Besides his wife, he is also survived by One Son, John Michael "Mike" (Jamie) Mann of Paris, Tenn; Two Sisters, Agnes Wilson of Paris, Tenn, Barbara McSwain of Paris, Tenn; Two Brothers, Jimmy (Charlotte) Mann of Paris, Tenn, Paul Mann of Martin, Tenn, two grandchildren, Amy E. Mann and Matthew Mann both of Paris, TN; and two Great Grandchildren, Madison and Bailey Williams of Paris, TN and several Nieces and Nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Martha Peden and Dorothy Hartman and a brother, Robert “Shorty” Mann.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St, Paris, Tenn., where visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday, April 2, 2014 and after 10am Thursday, April 3, 2014. The Funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 3, 2014.
Dr. Robert D. Martin of First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Royce Austin, Charlie Cuthbertson, George Shankle, Dale Routon, Jack West, and Ronnie Norwood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Mann and Mike Brown.
Interment will follow in Maplewood cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
Memorials may be made to: VFW Post 1889, Community Service Fund, 2512 E. Wood St., Paris, TN 38242.

Doc Scarbrough
Thomas Arlton “Doc” Scarbrough, age 93, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at his residence.
He was first married Dec. 22, 1941 to Virginia Inez Pflueger Scarbrough; she died July 15, 1988.
He then married Myrtle Lee Ray Scarbrough on August 15, 1991; she died in Oct. 2000.
Scarbrough then married Marilyn Kidd Scarbrough July 25, 2001; she survives.
Doc was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ. He retired from T.V.A. in New Johnsonville after 31 years and was a member of Buchanan Masonic Lodge #772 for 50 years and a member of The United Machinist Union.
He was born February 12, 1921 in Buchanan, TN to the late Curtis Scarbrough and the late Lois Willoughby Scarbrough.
Besides his wife, he is also survived by his four sons, Thomas K. "Tommy" (Alice) Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tenn, Jerry D. (Jennifer) Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tenn, James E. "Jim" (Naomi) Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tenn, Kenneth W. "Ken" (Ramona) Scarbrough of Buchanan, Tenn; one sister, Verble Adams of Buchanan, Tenn; 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and Myrtle Scarbrough’s Children, Joe Pat Ray and family, Gerald Ray and family, and Frieda Robinson and family.
Mr. Scarbrough was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Curtis Scarbrough; two brothers, Joseph Hall “Joe” Scarbrough and Owen Curtis “O.C.” Scarbrough; and granddaughter, Julie Scarbrough.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where visitation will will be from 4 to 8 pm Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Visitation will continue Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 11 am to 1 pm at Sulphur Well Church of Christ with the funeral service at Sulphur Well Church of Christ at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 2, 2014.
Randy Stephens & John Dale will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Wimberley, Larry Wimberley, Jim Hamilton, Bill Robinson, Dick Breedlove, and Buddy Forsythe. Honorary Pallbearers will be all grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Interment will follow in New Liberty cemetery in Buchanan, Tenn.
Memorial donations may be made to: Sulphur Well Scholarship Fund, 1760 Oak Grove Rd. South, Springville, TN 38256.

Shirley Sutton
Shirley F. Sutton, age 61 of Paris, died Thursday March 27th at HCMC ER.
She loved fishing, boating, gardening, and spending time wih family.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 5th 1-3pm at Shiloh Center in Zion, Illinois.

Billy Joe Walker
Billy Joe Walker, age 74, of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Jackson Madison Co. Gen. Hosp. in Jackson, Tenn.
Billy Joe was married May 23, 1959 to Wanda Culpepper Walker, and she survives. He graduated from E.W. Grove High School and was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church. He was a retired Quality Control Engineer with I.T.T. International Telecommunications in Corinth, MS and Milan, TN. He traveled overseas for the company to Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, & France. He formerly coached baseball and other sports while living in Milan, TN and enjoyed hunting & fishing.
Billy Joe was born September 3, 1939 in Lexington, TN to the late Henry Jefferson "Jeff" Walker and the late Thelma Roberts Walker.
He is also survived by his Two Sons, Jeffrey L. Walker of Cincinnati, Ohio, Timothy Joe Walker of Springville, Tenn; Sister, Linda Nash of Paris, Tenn; Grandchildren, Madison (Steve) Dean of Paris, TN, Timothy Dakota (Dani) Walker of Paris, TN, and Savannah Walker of Paris, TN; great grandchildren, Aailah Dean and Kenzie Walker of Paris, TN.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Saturday, March 29, 2014 and after 12 pm Sunday, March 30, 2014. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 30, 2014.
Craig Peevyhouse will officiate.
Interment will follow in Bethesda cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
Pallbearers will be Andy Autry, Ray Hinds, Rick Lankford, Michael Nash, Jimmy Thomas and Bill Wells.
Memorials may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or any other military charity.
