James Robert Williams, 72, Broken Arrow, Okla., formerly of Clarksville, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, in Broken Arrow, Okla.
Memorial services were held March 10, 2001, and March 11, 2001. Burial was in Mount Moriah North Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
He was born July 22, 1928, in Clarksville, son of Earl and Dorothy Gower Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Whittinghill Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Williams; a son, Jim Williams, Blue Lake, Mo.; two stepsons, Ronnie Whittinghill, Dyersburg and Steve Whittinghill, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Schnakenberg, Mo.; and several grandchildren.

Myra Bess Wilson Wickham, 77, Islamorada, Fla., died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Tavernier, Fla.
Walter Bryant
Walter Buford Bryant, 87, Indian Mound, died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at General Care Convalescent Center.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Wyatt Chapel Methodist Church, Dover, with the Revs. Delwyn Fryer and Charles Beacher officiating. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery, Indian Mound.
Anglin Funeral Home, Dover, is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Stewart County, son of David and Pallie Hogan Bryant.
Mr. Bryant was a carpenter and a member of Wyatt Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lewis Bryant; four daughters, Janiece Redmon, Brentwood, Elaine Smith and Mary Willda Whitford, both of Clarksville, Mildred Rawlings, Owensboro, Ky.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Rawlings, David Smith, Wes Redmon, Bryan Whitford, Ray Harris and Waylon Rawlings.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Wyatt Chapel Methodist Church.

Charlotte Carson
Charlotte "Bea" Carson, 78, Cumberland City, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Nave Funeral Home in Erin with Rev. Paul Moody, Rev. Ellis Felts and Rev. Joel Nulty officiating. Burial will be in Cary-Carson Cemetery in Cumberland City.
Visitation will be today from 2:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
She was born on Nov. 19, 1922, in Erin, daughter of John Wilson Lee and Annie Ruth Clark Lee.
Mrs. Carson was a retired switchboard operator, from Trinity Hospital and a member and past matron of Hope #462 Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, John Carson, Cumberland City; a son, John Wayne Carson, Cumberland City; a daughter, Cindy Clark, Cumberland City; a sister, Dorothy Adkins, Clarksville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Teddy Carson, Zane Carson, Elmo Hannah, Robert Pitts, Buddy Richardson, Edward Lee Adkins, Eddie Rye and Lynell Rye.
Charles Coleman
Charles Coleman, 73, Clarksville, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Pastor Windell Moore officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1927, in Montgomery County, son of George Coleman and Hattie Johnson Coleman. He was preceded in death by his wife,Myrtle Mai Norman Coleman.
Mr. Coleman was retired from the Zinc Plant and member of the Church of God Prophecy.
Survivors include a son, Gary L. Coleman, Clarksville; a daughter, Carol Lynn Coleman, Clarksville; two brothers, Donald Coleman, Clarksville, and Clinton Coleman, Jacksonville, N.C.; a sister, Ruby Hooper, Clarksville, and two grandchildren.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Church of God of Prophecy Sunday School Class No. 3.

George Heflin
George Alton Heflin, 89, Big Rock, Tenn., died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Trinity Hospital.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at the Anglin Memorial Chapel in Dover, with Rev. Morris Lee and Rev. David Whitehead officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Chapel Cemetery in Big Rock.
He was born on May 20, 1911, in Stewart County, son of Joseph Heflin and Lois Lee Heflin. He is the widower of Viola P. Wallace Heflin.
He was preceded in death by a son, Dotson Heflin.
Mr. Heflin was a farmer.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Heflin, Clarksville and George E. Heflin, Dover; two daughters, Brenda Atkins, Charlotte, Tenn., and Linda Horsey, Cunningham; two sisters, Earlene Wallace and Reese Wallace, both of Big Rock; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Atkins, David Heflin, Dale Herndon, John D. Howell, Garrett Wall, Travis Wall and Dewey Wallace.
Joseph Martinez
Joseph Lloyd Martinez, 67, Clarksville, died Monday, March 19, 2001, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral is planned for a later date in Cheyenne, Wyo. The remains will be cremated.
He was born on November 28, 1933 in New Mexico, son of Paul and Maria Roberta Vigil Martinez.
Mr. Martinez was an instructor.
He is survived by two sisters, Lucille Chavez and Pauline Ojeda, both of Cheyenne, Wyo.
Winifred Roddy
Winifred Allen Roddy, 68, Cumberland City, died Friday, March 23, 2001, at Gateway Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Norfleet officiating. Burial will be in Roane Memorial Garden in Rockwood, Tenn. with a committal service at 1 p.m. on Monday.
Visitation will be today from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born on June 23, 1932 in Rockwood, Tenn., son of James A. Roddy and Lela Clack Roddy.
Mr. Roddy was a retired supervisor for the TVA and a member of the Madison Street United Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Peggy Pickrell Roddy, Cumberland City; a son, David A. Roddy, Edmond City, Okla.; a daughter, Brenda J. Pelfrey, Severville, Tenn.; a brother, Kenneth Roddy, Rockwood, Tenn.; a sister, Anita Pugh, Rockwood, Tenn., and seven grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

James Irvin Rogers, Sr., 79, Texas, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in Hurst, Texas.
The funeral was held on March 10 at the Moore Funeral Chapel in Arlington, Texas. Burial was in Moore Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Clarksville, son of Wilmer T. Rogers and Maggie Kilgore Rogers.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie Rogers, Hurst, Texas; a son, James I. Rogers, Jr., Arlington, Texas; a daughter, LaVergne Rogers, Denver, Colo.; and three sisters, Geneva Hutchinson, South Bend, Ind., Catherine Rogers and Rebecca Munnelyn, both of Clarksville.

Ben Haygood
Ben Oliver Haygood, 86, Clarksville, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at Gateway Hospital, Nashville.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bud Harrub officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. and Thursday at 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
He was born April 15, 1914, in Lawrenceville, Ga., son of Jasper Louis Hagood and Mary Juhan Hagood. He was the widower of Rubye Blackwell Haygood.
Mr. Haygood served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1970 and was a retired chief warrant officer. He was chief administrator in the office of the commanders of the 511th Airborne Regiment, the 298th Regimental Combat Team, the 11th Airborne Division, 101st Airborne Corps, and I Field Force Vietnam.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Hagood Tanner of Miami Springs, Fla.
Pallbearers will be Houston Ellis, James Emerson, Kenneth Haygood, Bill Hazlett, Tom Hazlett, Bill Plymale, Hoover Porter and Wayde Tharp.

James Horace Potter, 79, Oak Ridge, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at his home.
The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at Weatherford Mortuary, Oak Ridge, with Martin Pyle and David Wallace officiating.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. with the family present at the mortuary.
He was born Nov. 12, 1921, son of Walter Horace and Ivie Arms Potter.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Horace Potter.
Mr. Potter was a veteran of the Marine Corps, having served during World War II, former factory manager at Rudolph, Hatch Tobacco Co. and was retired from Martin Marietta as the operations coordinator. He was a member of Highland View Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Roberts Potter; a son, James R. Potter, Clarksville; two daughters, Ann Slater, Raleigh, N.C., and Ivy Hines, Sarasota, Fla.; five grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
