John Green
Mr. John Green of Paris, TN passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the age of 91. A memorial service for Mr. Green will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 4:00 PM Saturday, August 1, 2015. Dr. Jenna Goggins of First Presbyterian will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 3:00- 4:00 PM prior to service time at the church.
Mr. John Green was born October 7, 1923 in Erie County, Buffalo, New York to the late John Green and Frances Kitching Green. On Feburary 14, 1982 he married Sandee Green of Paris, TN.
He is survived by daughters; Jacqueline A. Hardcastle of Greensboro, NC; Daina K. Lee of Frisco, TX; sons; Richard M. (Michele) Green of Lakeland, FL; Joseph D. (Sheila C.) Wilson of Linden, TN; brother; Wilford (Marilyn) Green of Nashua, NH; sister-in-law; Gail Green of Lakeland, FL. Mr. Green is also survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.
Mr. John Green was preceded by spouse, Betty Jo Green; married December 4, 1943; preceded on May 16, 1981; daughter, Sandra Jo Green; son, John Edward Green; brother, Robert Green.
Mr. Green served in WWII in the U.S. Army 672nd Engineer Co. including the Battle of the Bulge. He retired in 1986 from National Gypsum Co. after 35 years of service. Mr. Green was an Elder with the Presbyterian Church in Paris, TN, Hot Springs, AR and Chatham, VA. He served many years on the Henry Co. Commission for the Aging and also served on the Historical Zoning Board.

Ruby Key Shankle
Mrs. Ruby Key Shankle of Paris, Tennessee passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the age of 93. Funeral service for Mrs. Shankle will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home, 11:00 AM Monday, July 20, 2015, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Bro. Mitch Fiscus of Jones Chapel Baptist Church will officiate the service. Visitation for Mrs. Shankle will be from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, Sunday, July 19 at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 9:00 AM prior to service at 11:00 AM, Monday. Named as pallbearers are; Micheal Melton, David Darnell, Joe Darnell, Jay Shankle, Landen Shankle and Mickey Wheatley.
Mrs. Ruby Shankle was born July 19, 1921 in Henry County, Tennessee to the late Bryan Key and Cordelia Smith Key. On March 15, 1942 she married Mr. James F. "Frank" Shankle, who preceded her on July 25, 2001.
Mrs. Shankle is survived by daughters; Kay Valentine of Paris, TN; Julia Graves of Bradford, TN; Rose (Johnny) Hoffman of Buchanan, TN; Patty (Larry) Inlow of Paris, TN; sons; Bob Shankle of Paris, TN; George (June) Shankle of Springville, TN; sister; Lucy (Cleo) Hosford of Paris, TN; brother; Paul (Ruth) Key of Paris, TN. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and eight great great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Shankle was preceded by one son, Micheal Shankle; one brother, Novice Key.
Mrs. Ruby Shankle was a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church, Lifetime member of the VFW Post 1889 Auxiliary, High School graduate of Cottage Grove Class of 1940 and she was a devoted mother and grandmother. She also loved her garden and her birds.

Doris Comer Gillespie
Mrs. Doris Comer Gillespie of Paris, Tenn. passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at the age of 87. Funeral service will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 21, 2015, with visitation being from 9:00 - 11:00 AM prior to service. Pastor Bob Wint of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Savannah, Tenn. will officiate, with burial following in Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Gillespie was born September 9, 1927 in Washington County, Tenn. to the late William Noel Comer and Mae Phipps Comer. On September 11, 1955 she married Mr. Curtis Gillespie, who preceded her on May 24, 1999.
She is survived by her sister, Charlotte Bundy of Lexington, KY; brother, William N. Comer, Jr. of Indonesia. Also a family friend, Fran Shelton.
Mrs. Gillespie was a member of the Paris Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was the church clerk; she graduated from Henry High School and worked as an L.P.N. at Nobles Hospital.

Billy Bert Lamb
Billy Bert Lamb, age 70, of Puryear, Tenn., died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at his residence in Puryear, Tenn.
He was married June 12, 1965 to Margaret Ann Paschall Lamb and she survives.
Billy was a member of North Fork Baptist Church. He retired in 2001 as a Supervisor for General Tire in Union City, TN after 34 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #109 in Cottage Grove and was a Shriner and a Scottish Rite Mason. He was also an avid golfer. Billy was a former basketball player at Cottage Grove School and Basketball was his passion.
He was born January 7, 1945 in Paris, TN to the late Lois Dennis Lamb and the late Mary Lou West Lamb.
Besides his wife Margaret, he is also survived by his Two Daughters, Angela (Tommy) Massey of Rockvale, Tenn, Andrea Lamb of Paris, Tenn; Three Sisters, Linda Sue Nance Orawczyk of Puryear, Tenn, Mary Lois Sparks Wright of Paris, Tenn, Peggy Ann Newsome of Coldwater, Ky; One Brother, Clayton Lamb of Paris, Tenn; Two Grandchildren, Troy Connor Massey and Tucker Cole Massey of Rockvale, TN.
Besides his Parents, he was also preceded in death by Two Brothers, Dennis Lamb and Staton Lamb.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Thursday with a Masonic Service at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2015. Visitation will continue on Friday July 17, 2015 from 12 – 2 pm at North Fork Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, July 17, 2015 at North Fork Baptist will Randy Kuykendall of West Fork Baptist Church in Murray, KY and Douglas Powell of Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church Milan, TN officiating.
Pallbearers will be Greg Story, Allen McDougal, Scott Wyrick, Butch Lamb, Benji Bona, Bubba Sparks, Tommy Massey, and Jason Mounts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pinky Williams, Leon Bumpus, Waymon Reagan, Ronnie Mullins, Gerald McCallon, Bobby Owen, Dan Patterson, J.W. Akers, Danny E. Lee, Billy Dale Hicks, Bill Jackson, Larry Wade, Travis Sparks, Ray Hendon and J.T. Jones.
Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery.

Ollie Stanley
Ollie Stanle, age 95 of Paris, died Monday June 22nd at the Henry County Healthcare Center. He was a WWII veteran. A memorial service will be held in Alabama at a later date.

Ray Champine
Funeral service 2:00PM Sunday July 19, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. David Alan Jackson officiating, burial will follow at Alman Cemetery.
Visitation 4:00 - 6:00PM Saturday and after 1:00PM Sunday.
He was born in Ceylon, MN to the late George Lloyd and Grace Myers Champine. On October 2, 1960 he married Sara Hudgins Champine, she survives.
Survived by a daughter: Cathy (Ed) Miles, Louisville, KY; son: Steven (Missy) Champine, Jackson, TN; sisters: Marilyn Will, MN, Jean (Bob) Lamp, MN; Robert (Lois) Champine, MN, Veryl (Cheryl) Champine, MN; grandchildren: Bradley (Sarah Joy) Champine, Oxford, MS, Bryan Champine, Memphis, TN, Cooper Champine and Cameron Champine, both of Jackson, TN and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and special friends.
Preceded by a brother: Jerry Champine, May 2015.
Mr. Champine was a U.S. Army Veteran who served a year in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Divison and retired after 21 years of service as a Major. Ray worked at Holley Carburetor until its closing. He then became a U.S. Postal Carrier who received the “Hero of the Year” award in 2000 after saving a resident from death when their home was on fire and soon afterwards retired. Ray was very active after retirement, was an avid gardener who enjoyed bowling and many activities at the Senior Citizen Center in Murray, KY. A family member said that he dearly loved his family and most especially his grandchildren.

Louise Allison
Louise Crouch Allison, age 83, of Paris, Tenn., died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at her residence in Paris, Tenn.
She was married Dec. 20, 1947 to J.C. Crouch and he preceded in death April 10, 2000. In May of 2002, she married Dorris Allison and he survives. She was a Member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, making fried pies, cooking for her family and traveling.
She was born October 26, 1931 in Red Bay, AL to the late Fernando Francis “Jack” Tharp and the late Carrie Myrtle Gray Tharp Kitchens.
Besides her husband Dorris, she is also survived by her One Daughter, Rhonda (Ron) Paschall of Paris, Tenn; Three Sons, Jacky (Shelley) Crouch of Paris, Tenn, Jerry (Reba) Crouch of Paris, Tenn, Steve (Renee) Crouch of Paris, Tenn; Eight Grandchildren, Jeff (Ginger)Crouch, Micky (Chris) Crouch, Ricky (Toni) Crouch, Josh (Julia Ann) Crouch, Jason (Angie) Brown, Joseph Brown, Christy (Mark) Morton, and Kim (Eric) Jackson; and 22 Great Grandchildren.
Besides her First Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by a Sister, Lucille Warren and Brother, Marvin Tharp.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Monday, July 13, 2015 and from 10 – 11 am Tuesday, July 14, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 14, 2015.
Bro. James Smith and Bro. Mike Wimberley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jeff Crouch, Micky Crouch, Ricky Crouch, Josh Crouch, Jason Brown, and Joseph Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Christy Morton and Kim Jackson.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris, Tenn.

Pat Jones
Pat Jones, age 81, of Springville, Tenn., died Friday, July 10, 2015, at Murray Calloway Co. Hospital in Murray, Ky.
Pat Married William Alden "Bill" Jones August 9, 1953 and he survives.
She was Methodist and had worked as Treasurer for 17 years for the NHJ School Corporation in Indiana before moving to TN. She also worked as a Bank Teller for Security Bank for 8 years. She enjoyed fishing and cooking.
She was born October 25, 1933 in Springfield, IL to the late Edward Warren James and the late Frances Emily Taft James.
Besides her husband Bill, she is also survived by her Two Daughters, Deborah Sue Thompson of Springville, Tenn, Patricia Lynn (James) Koehler of Somerset, Ohio; One Sister, Marjorie Frances Wanless of Springfield, Ill; One Brother, Edward Warren James of Alamo, Texas; One Grandchild, LaShawnda Thompson of Pearl, MS; One Great Grandchild, JeriLynn Koehler; 3 Nephews, 1 Niece, 2 Great Nephews, and 1 Great Niece.
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by a Grandchild, Joshua Koehler.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 12 – 4 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 4:00 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2015.
Linda Hilliard of Antioch United Methodist Church will officiate. Pallbearers will be James Koehler, Daniel Frownfelter, Paul Frownfelter, John Baskitis, and Brent Greer.

Jerry Hoofman
Jerry Hoofman, age 79, of Paris, Tenn., died Friday, July 10, 2015, at his residence in Paris, Tenn.
Jerry married Virginia "Anne" Moody Hoofman October 1, 1955 and she preceded in death October 2, 2011.
He was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. Jerry retired from CSX Railroad as a Brakeman after 30 years. He was also was the retired owner of Hoofmans Bar-B-Q in Paris for 28 years. He loved playing guitar and singing with the Pickers and Grinners group at the Paris Civic Center and he enjoyed Fishing, Camping, Riding Motorcycles and spending time with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
He was born September 23, 1935 in Cottage Grove, TN to the late Herman B. Hoofman and the late Ellie Snyder Hoofman.
He is survived by his One Daughter, Karen (Terry) Wheatley of Cottage Grove, Tenn; One Son, Dennis Hoofman and Special Friend Rosemary Lane of Paris, Tenn; One Sister, Patsy Paschall of Springville, Tenn; Two Grandchildren, Joe Hoofman of Mansfield, TN, Rachel (Zach) Brown of Paris, TN; Great Grandchildren, Skylar Hoofman and Brittney Hoofman of Mansfield, TN, and Liam Brown of Paris, TN; Several Nieces and Nephews and Sister-in-laws and Brother-in-laws.
Besides his wife and parents he was also preceded in death by a Brother, Freddie Hoofman.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Monday, July 13, 2015 and from 12 – 2 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2015.
Johnny Farmer will officiate.
Interment will be at Memorial cemetery in Paris, Tenn.
