Edith H. White
Mrs. Edith H. White of Cottage Grove, TN passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the age of 92. Her Funeral Service will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 with burial to follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery. Bro. Tom Winchester and Bro. Paul Veazey will officate. Visitation will be Monday, July 13, 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday and after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday. Pallbearers are named as; Ben Moore, David Arnold, Kreg Kyle, Robert “Scooter” Miller, Mark Wilkerson, Fred Stier; Honorary: Houston Bass, Jim Hampton, Vester Brown, Brandon French.
Mrs. White was born August 11, 1922 Winnburg, TN to the late C.W. “Neely” and Callie Allmond Hogue. On December 7, 1940 she married Mr. Nelson White who survives her in Paris, Tennessee.
She is survived by daughter; Carolyn Cheek of Paris, TN; son; Glenn (Judy) White of Hollow Rock, TN; sisters; Lorene Seratt of Halls, TN, Dot (Marcus) Spiller of Halls, TN; brothers; Paul “Peck” (Rose) Hogue, of Halls, TN, Donald (Patty) Hogue of Halls, TN; grandchildren; Suzanne (Mark) Wilkerson of Paris, TN, Tracy Dunlap of Bruceton, TN; great-grandchildren; Lesley Carter, Jessica Stier, Rachael Kreitz; great great-grandchildren; Harley Kreitz; sisters-in-law; Imogene Hogue, Erma Jean Hogue, Betty Hogue, Bettie Woods, Joy Turner; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by brothers; Leon Hogue, Robert Hogue, Waymon Hogue; grandchild; Vic White.
Graduated from the first nursing class at Henry County General Hospital and retired from Nobles Clinic, she was a homemaker. Member of Union Friendship Baptist Church. Don Glaab
Don Glaab, age 65 of Puryear, died Monday July 6th at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday July 9 and after 9am Friday July 10th at McEvoy Funeral Home. Funeral will be 11am Friday July 10th with burial to follow in Paschall Cemetery.

Betty Williams
Longtime Quinn Chapel AME Church member Betty C. Williams age 81 of Paris passed away Saturday July 2, 2015 at Henry County Healthcare.
A memorial visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00PM Friday July 10, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home.
She was born in Paris to the late Blanch and Mary Hayes McGehee. On December 2, 1972 she married Wrather Williams, he preceded.
Survived by daughters: Carol (Gordon) Phillips, Chicago, IL, Sandra Hewitt, Evanston, IL, Coltilia "Shnika" Williams, Paris, TN, Pamela (Daryl) House, Paris, TN; son: Roger McGehee, Paris, TN; sisters: Sarah Banks, Lynwood, IL, Robbie Coleman, Robbins, IL; grandchildren: Orman "Rexie" Hewitt, Booker Williams, Inesha Williams, Jamonte Johnson, Brandon Johnson; great-grandchildren: Orman Hewitt, III, Taniyah Hewitt, Tiarra Johnson, Edward Johnson, Serinity Johnson and a long list of family and longtime friends.
Preceded by sisters: Louise Diggs, Annie E. Kendall, Brittie Johnson, Lucy Crawford, Mildred Shaw; brothers: Bobby McGehee and Billy Ray McGehee.

Larry E. Carter
Mr. Larry Elliott Carter age 67, of Dyersburg, TN passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Funeral service will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home Monday, July 6 at 11 A.M. with visitation from 9 A.M. until service time at 11 A.M. Burial will follow in the Maplewood Cemetery. John McDougal will officiate.
Mr. Carter was born on November 10, 1947 to the late Herman E. Carter and Johnnie Frensley Carter.
Mr. Carter is survived by daughter Christy Carter (Robert) Callison of Henry, TN; son Jeff (Peggy) Carter of Huntingdon TN; sister Brenda Carter of Paris TN; grandchildren Payton Callison, Preston Carter, Kennedy Carter, Landon Carter; cousin John McDougal.
Mr. Carter loved to play guitar and sing.

Harold Nolan Bass, Sr.
Harold Nolan Bass, Sr., age 88, of Paris, Tenn., died Friday, July 3, 2015, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, TN. He married March 29, 1946 to Allie Ozane Moody Bass who survives.
He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, a WW II veteran and a Mason. He formerly worked at Midland Brake Co. & Holley Carburetor Plant. Mr. Bass enjoyed painting, building houses, gardening, flowers and farming.
He was the son of the late Louis Richard Bass and the late Lucy Delaney Bass.
He is also survived by his Children, Melody (Randy) Long of Paris, TN and sons: Harold Bass, Jr. of Henry, TN, Bobby (Jamie) Bass of Henderson, TN, and a daughter in law: Joyce Lipford Bass.
Mr. Bass also leaves 10 Grandchildren: Ryan (Crystal) Long, Hunter (Lori) Long, Mark Nolan (Wendy) Bass, Justin Curtis Bass, Leslie Steinburg, Tracy (Joey) Smith, Jessica (Keith) Smith, Dennis Mitchell Bass, Donnie (Jennifer) Bass and Lisa Bass Ashley. Along with 19 Great Grandchildren
Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Quentin Martin will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. - P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, July 5, 2015 and after 10:00 AM Monday, July 6, 2015. The funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Monday, July 6, 2015, with Emily Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery.

Mary Morris Oliver
Mary Morris Oliver, age 86, of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, July 2, 2015, at Paris Healthcare & Rehab Center in Paris, TN. She married July 1946 to Leon Oliver, who died October 26, 1987. She was member Eastwood Church of Christ and a homemaker.
She was the son of the late William A. Morris and the late Gertrude Mohon Morris.
She is survived by her son, Ronald (Nancy) Oliver of Buchanan, TN, 3 Grandchildren: Ericca Jennings of Dickson, TN, Ashley Medbury of Buchanan, TN, & Rebecca (Erik) Peterson of Everett, WA. Ms. Oliver also leaves one great grandchild: Jacqueline Medbury.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St. - P.O. Box 788, Paris, TN. Graveside Services will be held at Palestine cemetery at 11:00 AM Monday, July 6, 2015, with Roger Banks officiating.

Betty Gooch
Funeral service 4:00PM Sunday June 28, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Martin, First United Methodist Church and Bro. Mike Wimberley, Cottage Grove Methodist Church officiating, burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation 1:00PM Sunday until service time.
She was born in Erin, TN to the late Benjamin Franklin and Ethel Reynolds Hagler. On September 17, 1950 she married J.D. Gooch, he survives in Paris.
Survived by a daughter: Jan (David) Foy, Puryear; son: Jim (Tammy) Gooch, Paris; sisters: Evelyn Alsobrooks, Erin, Dorothy Taylor, Erin, Annie Williams, Erin; brother: Ben Hagler, Erin; grandchildren: Blake and Hunter Gooch, Staci Foy, Bryan Mullin, Breyanne Sperry, Jeremy Perkins, Brittany Vaughn; great-grandchildren: Stefani Gooch, Aiden Gooch, Liam Gooch, Dawson Sperry, Dalyliah Sperry, Will Vaughn and by numerous nieces nephews cousins and special friends.
Preceded by a son: Dan Gooch; sister: Lila McElroy; brothers-in-law: John McElroy, George Alsobrooks, Al Taylor and Jay Williams.
Mrs. Gooch was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, member of Eastern Star for over 50 years and member of the DAR. Betty was the first director of nursing at Trinity Hospital in Erin and a former director of nursing at Henry County Medical Center. She enjoyed fishing more that eating, loved traveling, collecting coffee mugs and had one from every state. She was a big supporter of Hoof Beats of Hope.

Anthony Chadwick
Funeral service 2:00PM Sunday June 28, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Mr. and Mrs. James May officiating.
Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Saturday.
He was born in Model, TN to the late Melvin Franklin and Rheda Inez Allen Chadwick.
Survived by sisters: Becky (George) Glass, Buchanan, sister-in-law: Lisa Chadwick, Buchanan; brothers: David (Karen) Chadwick, Buchanan, Wendell Chadwick, Buchanan; seven nieces and nephews; four great nieces and nephews.
Preceded by a sister: Lena Fay Grey and a brother: Chris Chadwick.
Anthony loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his nieces and nephews.

Christopher Northam
Survived by his wife: Sharon Sabin, Paris; daughters: Lyn (Paul) Delores, CA, Cindy Northam, CA, Amelia Northam, Paris; sons: Greg (Yalda) Northam, CA, Paul (Edith) Northam, CA; grandchildren: Patrick, Blake an Marissa Northam all of CA; cousins: Carol Abbott, Dennis Abbott and David Abbott.
Preceded by his parents: Burton Abbott and Georgia Schorsh.
Mr. Northam served 21 years in the military.

Dorothy Diggs
Dorothy Mizell Diggs was born November 28, 1919 to Ethelder Elery and Susie Cannon Mizell in the VanDyke community of Henry County. She graduated from Henry school where she was an outstanding basketball player. After finishing high school she worked at Salant and Salant in Paris where she met her future husband.
In 1942 she married George Alexander Diggs while he was serving in the Army during WW II. After the war years they returned to Jones Bend Road in Paris where they farmed and raised their family. After her children were out of grade school she worked at Mitchum Company until it was sold.
She was a wonderful Christian wife and mother and was a dedicated member of Sulphur Well Church of Christ. Known as Mama Dot to family and friends, she was artistically gifted creating paintings, quilts, clothing, crocheted pieces, floral arrangements, and handiwork of all kinds. She also enjoyed entertaining family and friends with wonderful meals.
Five children were born to the Diggs: Pamela Zandra (Jim) Hamilton of Buchanan, Phyllis Gail (Thomas) Lemonds of Paris, Rita Kay Crowe (Bobby) Flowers of Paris, George Ernest (Janis) Diggs of Buchanan and Jo Ellen Diggs who died in infancy.
Grandchildren are Tina (Walter) Proctor of Murray, KY, Bill (Kimmy) Hamilton of Mount Dora, FL, James (Andi) Hamilton of Buckhead, GA, Monya (Ed) Burrell of Woodstock, GA, Will Lemonds and Jeremy (Andrea) Lemonds of Paris, Damon (Mary Ann) Crowe of Nashville, Charlie (Ashley) Crowe of Huntsville, AL, Joe Pat Crowe of Nashville, Kasey (Daniel) George of Murfreesboro, Jenny (Jason) Carroll of Haiti, Clint (Melissa) Diggs of Paris, Wesley (Kristin) Diggs of Nashville and JoEllen (Kevin) Buckley of Nashville.
Great Grandchildren are Logan and Peyton Proctor, Nikki, Alex and JD Hamilton, Ashley Jackson, Dakota and Hannah Lemonds, Emily and Eva Lemonds, AnnAlise, Hardy and Gus George, Chantry, Cole Callie and Edyson Carroll, Evelyn, Anson, Josie, Sophia, Caleb and Karina Diggs, Annie and Mary Claire Diggs.
Great Great grandchildren are Braelyn Sanders and Rhett Lemonds.
She is also survived by her sister, Estelle Parker of Henry.
She was preceded in death by her husband George who died in June of 2000 after 58 years of marriage; daughter, Jo Ellen Diggs; sisters, Celeste Parker and Mary B. Foust; and brother, Joe Mizell.
Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 – 7 pm and after 9 am Wednesday until the service at 10 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Randy Stephens will officiate and Pallbearers will be Grandsons.

William Patterson
William A. Patterson, 76, of Paris died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at his residence.
Mr. Patterson worked at Brown Shoe Co., Holley carburetor plant and Tecumseh Products.
He was born March 16, 1939, in Gleason, the son of the late Raymond and Valda McDaniel Patterson.
Survivors include a sister: Sue (Dale) Quinn of Paris; two nieces: Rosie (Mark) Johnson of Paris and Kristi (Dill) Hughes of Columbia; five great-nieces; a great-nephew; a great-great-nephew; and three special friends: Krista Redmon, Jeremy Hunter and Stacy Smith.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Wednesday. His funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home, with Randy Stephens and Trent Bullock officiating.
Pallbearers will be Mark Johnson, Dill and Dillion Hughes, Stacy Smith, Ron Patterson and Larry Woodard. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Todd, Jeremy Hunter, Nader Fares and Ron Marino.
Burial will be in Olive Branch cemetery in Cottage Grove.
Memorials may be made to Helping Hand (on Elkhorn day) or Olive Branch cemetery fund, care of Jimmy Emerson, 145 Highway 140, Paris.
