Brenda Blackburn
Brenda Kay “Borenda” Blackburn, age 62, of Paris, Tenn., died Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Vanderbilt Univ. Med. Center in Nashville, Tenn.
She attended Tennessee Valley Community Church and retired from Dana Co. in 2000. She was a self-employed care giver and she loved to dance and loved country music. She enjoyed her children and taking care of others.
She was born August 11, 1952 in Paris, TN to the late Doss Henry Dillon and the late Edna May Winsett Dillon.
She is survived by her Three Sons, Steven Lee Herndon of Antioch, Tenn, Darrell Ray Herndon of Paris, Tenn, David Herndon of Mt. Juliet, Tenn; Twin Sister, Linda Berry of Puryear, TN; Four Sisters, Janice Graves of Puryear, Tenn, Carolyn Dean of Paris, Tenn, Judy Tate of Paris, Tenn, Helen Dillon of Paris, Tenn; Two Brothers, Roy L. Dillon of Puryear, Tenn, James Lee Dillon of Paris, Tenn; Grandchildren, Justin Ryan Herndon of Paris, TN, Bryan Herndon of Paris, TN, Kaylee Lyn Herndon of Antioch, TN; Very Special Friend, James Greer of Paris, TN; and several Nieces and Nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Faye Myers.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 and from 9 – 10 am Thursday, June 25, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 10:00 am Thursday, June 25, 2015.
Carlton Gerrell will officiate. Pallbearers will be James Culver, Jason Greer, Jimmy Greer, Johnny Lickert, Lovis Owen, and Daniel Tate. The Henry Dance Members are named as Honory Pallbearers.
Interment will be at Chalk Hill cemetery in Camden, Tenn.

James "Jim" Stanley
Former Stanley’s Auto Sale owner James W. Stanley, 68, of Henry died Saturday, June 20, 2015, at his residence.
He was born June 1, 1947, to the late Earl Everett and Artie Affie Carpenter Stanley.
Survivors include a daughter: Kim (Skip) Rabey of Rockton, Ill.; a son: Jim (Cassie) Stanley of Machesney Park, Ill.; two sisters: Mary (Carl) Morgan of Cottage Grove and Cindy (Ron) Marino of Paris; four brothers: Clyde (Erika) Stanley of Roseville, Calif., Everett (Janice) Stanley of Paris, Fred (Toni) Stanley of Apple Valley, Calif., and Owen (Sue) Stanley of Loves Park, Ill.; Four grandchildren: Sherry and James Stanley, and Jordan and Jarrod Rabey; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Delois Capps of Paris.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Charles and Gerald Stanley.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Randy Stephens will officiate.
Pallbearers will be James and Brian Stanley, Jordan Rabey, Malcon Taylor, Ken Denny and Ron Marino. Honorary pallbearers will be Nader Fares, Jarrod Rabey and Jeremy Hunter.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bevil Cemetery.

James Milliken
James A. Milliken, age 87, of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, June 18, 2015, at his residence in Paris, Tenn.
He was married August 20, 1999 to Nancy Cathey Milliken she survives.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran and he retired after 31 years as a communication technician with the Civil Service. He loved gardening and was a Life member of the NRA and a VFW member.
He was born March 26, 1928 in Indian Mound, TN to the late Herman Milliken and the late Lula Gafford Milliken.
Besides his wife Nancy, he is also survived by his Two Step-Daughters, Kay (Jerry) Farmer of Farmersville, Texas, Martha Stewart of Louisville, Ky; Two Step Sons, Michael (Flora) Pruitt of Anchorage, Alaska, Melvin (Brenda) Pruitt of Owensboro, Ky; One Sister, Lola Mae Milliken of Clarksville, Tenn; 6 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews; and a Sister-in-law, Delores Bryant and her family of Dover, TN.
He was also preceded in death by Several Brothers and Sisters and 2 Step Great Grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn. He will be cremated. There will be a Graveside Memorial Service at Memorial cemetery at 3:00 PM Friday, June 26, 2015.
Craig Peevyhouse will officiate.

Morris Jenkins
Funeral service for Puryear, TN resident Morris Jenkins age 93, will be Thursday 11:00AM at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Smith officiating, burial will follow at Puryear City Cemetery.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation 4:00 - 7:00PM Wednesday and after 9:00AM Thursday.
He was born in Henry County, TN to the late George Thomas and Bertie Morris Jenkins. On November 4, 1944 he married Gloria Easlick Jenkins, she survives.
Survived by sons: Tom (Brenda) Jenkins, Paris, Mike (Cheryl) Jenkins, Lebanon, Kenny (Kim) Jenkins, Puryear; grandchildren: Adam (Jamie) Jenkins, Mallorie (Syd) Hutson, Blake Jenkins, Kit (Chasity) Jenkins, Jill (Kevin) Stotts, Troy Jenkins; great-grandchildren: Travis Jenkins, Hayden Hutson, Ella Hutson, Wesley Jenkins, Bailey Jenkins, Kiley Jenkins, Hudson Stotts, Kingston Stotts, Carson Stotts.

Thelma Pierce
Funeral service 3:00PM Friday June 19, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Carlton Gerrell of TVCC officiating, burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation 11:00 - 3:00PM Friday.
Named as pallbearers are Johnny Petrie, Bobby Pierce, Mike Prince, Thomas "Bub" Edwards, Steve Looney and Albert Wade.
She was born in Henry County, TN to the late Owen and Fleta Alexander Wade. On February 1, 1953 she married Gerald W. "Red" Pierce, he survives.
Survived by a daughter: Connie Looney, Paris, TN; granddaughter: Sarah Looney, Louisville, KY; great-grandchildren: Trentin and Trey Williams, Simone, Suri and King Floyd.
Preceded by a brother: Albert Wade, Sr.
Thelma was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Nancy Hopkins
Funeral service 2:00PM Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Maplewood Baptist Church with Bro. Lynn King and Bro. Paul Veazey officiating, burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
Named as pallbearers are Jimmy Barrett, Rusty Compton and Tim Lacy.
Visitation 5:00 - 8:00PM Friday at Maplewood Baptist Church. No visitation is scheduled Saturday.
She was born in Knoxville, TN to the late Joseph B. Taliaferro and Rubye Hill. On July 3, 1960 she married Dorris Hopkins, he preceded June 21, 2005.
Survived by a daughter: Melanie Adkins (Bob), Murfreesboro, TN; son: Michael Hopkins (Sonya), Hermitage, TN; sister: Diane (Van) Ball, Paris; brother: Joseph (Pat) Taliaferro, Foley, AL; grandchildren: Kailee Hopkins, Abbey Hopkins, Zachary Hopkins, Brooke Adkins, Samuel Adkins and Emily Adkins; brother-in-law: Clayton Lamb, Paris.
Preceded by a sister: Phyliss Taliaferro Lamb.
Nancy moved to Paris in 1958 and graduated from Grove High School in 1959. She was an active member of Maplewood Baptist Church for over 50 years.

James Cate
James Lee Cate, 97, retired school principal, coach, teacher, and county attendance supervisor, died early Sunday morning at Paris Health Care. Born on January 25, 1918, to Thomas Manual and Alma Wimbish Cate in Henry, he lived nearly all his life in Henry County. He resided briefly in Tupelo, MS, where he married his wife of 73 years, Marie Lummus Cate, and he was stationed in Japan during his Army service during World War II.
A graduate of Henry High School, Mr. Cate attended Freed-Hardeman College and completed his bachelor’s degree at Bethel College. He received his master’s degree at Murray State University, and served as teacher, coach, and principal for 30+ years at Springville High School before becoming attendance supervisor for Henry County. After his retirement, he continued to teach his Sunday School class at the Springville Church of Christ until his health interfered.
Mr. Cate is survived by one daughter, Anne (Danny) Bailey, of Saltillo MS; two sons, Charles (Lillie) Cate of Paris, and Joe Cate of Springville. Their six grandchildren are Dr. Richard (Laura) Brown of Searcy AR, Melynda (Scott) Renner of Herndon VA, Laura (Andy) Hogan of Frederick MD, Tom (Becky) Cate of Paris, Dr. Ethan (Ashley) Brown of Hendersonville NC, and Christy Maria Cate of Abilene TX. Fourteen great-grand children and one great-great-grandson and his unborn brother also survive, as do his sisters, Martha (Leon) Berlin of Atlanta, Faye Jones and Sarah Scott of Paris, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cate was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers: Edward Cate and his wife Lillie and Reuben and his wife Ruth, one sister: Raye Cate Powers and her husband Al, and two sons-in-law.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the McEvoy Funeral Home and again on Friday after 10:00 a.m. at the church . A celebration of his life will take place at the Springville Church of Christ on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Poplar Grove cemetery in Springville.

Gayla Davis
Funeral service 2:00PM Thursday June 18, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Stephens officiating, burial will follow at Elkhorn Cemetery.
Named as pallbearers are Nicholas Burton, Mytchal Brown, Mark Wade, Tony Wade, Tim Wade and Kurt Stafford. Jim Adams will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Gayla was born in Memphis, TN to the late Gill Johnson, Jr. and Gloria Green Johnson. On October 19, 1985 she married Jeff Davis, he survives.
Survived by daughters: Brittany (Nicholas) Burton, Mt. Juliet, TN, Shayla Davis, Springville, TN; sisters: Gina Johnson, Big Sandy, TN, Gwen (Charles) Hodge, Westport, TN, Grace Ann (Darryn) Brown, Stantonville, TN, Gidget Willis, Big Sandy, TN; grandchildren: Rylan and Nolan Burton, Michael Davis, Lathan Holland; mother-in-law: Shirley Davis, Springville, TN and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Preceded by her father-in-law: Charles Davis and a nephew.

Ron Harber
Ron Harber, age 63 of Southaven, MS, formerly of Henry County, died Friday June 12, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven, MS.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at First Baptist Church Paris, TN after 12 until the service at 2:00 pm.
