Sam Dycus
Sam D. Dycus, 70, of Buchanan, TN died at his residence Wednesday May 6th after a short illness.
He retired in 2011 from the maintenance department at Paris Landing State Park. Worked as a welder for 25 years, member of the Boiler Maker's Union and a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge #95 out of Dyersburg, TN.
Funeral service will be Saturday May 6, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Gallimore, TVCC, officiating, burial will follow at Dyer County Memorial Gardens in Dyersburg with Masonic Ritual.
Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Friday and after 10:00AM Saturday until service time at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Bortner, Lynn Steele, Waylon Rushing, Scott Marshall, Jeffrey Dycus, Connor Dycus and Noah Dycus. Stuart Vigneux will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Sam was born in Dyersburg September 23, 1944 to the late Edward E. and Mabel Pace Dycus. On June 26, 2003 he married Toni Marshall Dycus, she survives, Buchanan.
Survived by a daughter: Jessica (Waylon) Rushing, Paris; sons: Nicholas D. (Sebrina) Dycus, Gray, TN, Steven B. Dycus, Dyersburg; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by a brother: Richard D. Dycus.

Angela Freeman
L.P.N., Angela Odom Freeman, age 39, of Jackson formerly of Henry County, died Monday at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Her funeral service will be at 2:00PM Thursday May 7th at McEvoy Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Pierson of Fellowship Bible Church, Jackson, officiating, burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris.
Visitation will begin at 11:00AM until time of service Thursday.
Angela was born in Puryear, TN to the late Carmen C. and Shirley Uhler Odom. On September 18, 2010 she married Mikela Freeman and he survives in Jackson, TN.
Survived by her sons: Andrew Crawford, Nashville, Peyton Lee Freeman, Jackson; sister: Teri Smith, Cullman, AL; brothers: Randy Smith, IL, Brian Smith, IL and Kevin Odom, MS.
She was a member of Pond Creek Methodist Church in Crockett County. She was a loving wife and mother.
Memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society, Mid-South Division, 2935 Hwy 45 Bypass, Jackson, TN 38305

Myree Smith
Funeral service 2:00PM Tuesday May 5, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. Rob Martin of First United Methodist Church officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery.
Named as pallbearers are David Parks, Ricky Parks, Larry Parks, Andy Jackson, Adam Jackson and Emory Bradley. Glen Jackson, Gordon Owen, Jeff Tucker and Charlie Bumpas will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation 12:00Noon until service time Tuesday.
She was born in Henry County to the late Earley F. and Jannie Williams Smith. On December 11, 1946 she married Aubrey J. Cox, he preceded August 22, 2013.
Survived by a sister Earline (Charles) Green, Paris; sister-in-law: Geraldine Smith, Paris and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
Preceded by a sister: Verdell Burnette; brothers: Elroy Smith and Herlon Smith.
Myree was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. She worked with Holley Carburetor formerly of Paris for 29 years and worked in the office of the Holley Credit Union when it was first organized and located in the Holley Carburetor factory. Myree enjoyed traveling and was a lifetime member of the Fish Fry Sams Camping Club.

Nola Swift
Funeral service Monday May 11, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Ross of Thompson Creek Baptist Church officiating, Burial will follow at McRae's Chapel cemetery in Benton County, TN .
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation 4:00 - 8:00PM Sunday May 10, 2015 and after 1:00PM Monday until service time.
She was born in Paducah, KY to the late Milton Gaylon and Elta Mouzy McGregor. On January 8, 1949 she married Joseph T. Swift, he preceded July 18, 2000.
Survived by daughters: Brenda (Kenneth) Brinegar, Sandwich, IL, Charlotte (Ron) Dwyer, Lockport, IL, Dory (James) Martin, Aurora, IL, Kathy Swift, Paris, Sandra Fredrick, Paris; sons: Joe (Pam) Swift, Jr., Mountain Home, AR, Timothy Swift, Paris, Michael McGregor, Aurora, IL; nineteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Preceded by daughters: Wendy Garrison, Sharon Swift; sisters: two and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Swift was a Baptist by faith. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Wallace Lassiter
Wallace Edward Lassiter, age 78, of Puryear, Tenn., died Monday, May 4, 2015, at Paris Healthcare and Rehab Center in Paris, Tenn.
Mr. Lassiter was married to Jerry Clark Lassister Aug. 24, 1956, and she survives. He was a self employed farmer for many years. He served as a deacon at Hazel Baptist Church where he was a member. He was a Past Director of Farm Bureau, the Henry County Fair Board and the Henry Farmers Co-op. He was an avid bird hunter and shared this hobby with others while operating Wally's Game Farm.
Wallace was born February 18, 1937 in Crossland, TN to the late Dallas Lassiter and the late Maxine Paschall Lassiter.
Besides his wife he is also survived by his Three Daughters, Lanita Lassiter of Puryear, Tenn, Denise (Michael) Wichlan of Frisco, Texas, Dawn (Rick) Harvey of Knoxville, Tenn; One Son, Sandy Lassiter of Puryear, Tenn; One Sister, Kathy (Richard) Ball of Cottage Grove, Tenn; Grandchildren, Michael Lassiter, Chelsey Lassister, Baylee and Maddie Wichlan, Chelsea (Cody) Penticuff, and Ashlyn Harvey; Great Grandchildren, Aubree Penticuff and Corbin Hale; Sisters-in-law, Sandra (Frankie) VanDyke, Wanda (Mackie) Gallimore, Marilyn Clark and Carolyn Clark; and Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wallace was also preceded in death by a Brother, Billy Frank Lassiter; and Brothers-in-law, Robert and Joel Clark.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn. Visitation will be at Hazel Baptist Church from 4 – 8 pm Thursday, May 7, 2015 and from 9 - 11 am Friday, May 8, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at Hazel Baptist Church in Hazel, KY at 11:00 am Friday, May 8, 2015.
Rev. Wayne Carter, Rev. Tim Cole, Rev. Brent Lee, Rev. Michael Wichlan, and Rev. Joel Frizzell will officiate. Pallbearers will be Scott Barrow, Kevin Bomar, Kenny Kingins, Mitch Jackson, Chris Miller, and Greg Story. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rodney Adams, Ronnie Bell, Frank Cole, Carl Dalton, Harold Fancher, Jessie Fox, Danny Gallimore, Tommy Hammond, Thomas Paschall, Gerald Ray, Franklin Rogers, Eddie Shankle, Ray Spots, Bob Samuelson, Geno Steinburg, Tommy Dan Story, Adolphus Stubblefield, Richard Vance, Jeff White, Harold Wilkinson, Terry Lassiter, and Tim Brannon
Interment will be at Walker cemetery in Paris, Tenn.

Madalyn Bertouille
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and care-giver Madalyn Joyce Bertouille went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2015. She passed away at Henry County Medical Center.
Visitation will be at Ridgeway Funeral Home Friday May 8, 2015 from 4 - 8 pm and Saturday May 9 after 9:30 am until the service at 10:30 am at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Rev. Larry Simmons and Dr. Trent Bullock, with music provided by Dr. Scott Shepherd. Pallbearers will be Son-in-Law, Gary Graves, granddaughters, Sarah Bertouille and Andrea Graves, and Grandsons, Ethan Graves, Micah Graves and Michael Bertouille. Entombment will follow in the Rose Lawn Mausoleum in Paris.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert “Bob” Bertouille. They married August 22, 1952.
She is also survived by a Daughter, Diane (Gary) Graves of Trenton, TN; Son, Paul (Jan) Bertouille of Paris, TN; Daughter-in-law, Rebecca Bertouille of Palmyra, IN; Sister, Naomi (Doug) Stewart of Whittier, CA; Grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Bertouille, Michael Timothy Bertouille, Andrea Marie Graves, Ethan Dickson Graves, and Micah Bertouille Graves.
Madalyn was preceded in death by a Son, Timothy Wallace Bertouille in 1984, and a Granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Bertouille in 1989.
Madalyn was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Claude Wallace and the late Florence Sternberg Wallace. She graduated from Henry Ford Community College, in Dearbom, Michigan. She was employed as a stenographer at Chrysler Corporation in Detroit but her main focus in life was being a loving and devoted wife and mother.
Madalyn was one of the original members of the Helping Hands and served for many years until her home going. She was actively involved in First Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher, youth music choir assistant, and sang in the Senior Choir for over 30 years. She was involved in the Gideon ministry for 43 years with her husband. She served in many officer positions including state Vice-President. Her love for the scripture distribution to the nursing field for over 30 years in Paris was one of her favorite passions. She also served in the local Henry County Jail Ministry for over 14 years. Through her death, she continues to serve others as she was an Organ Donor. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends but we all rejoice in her home going to be with the Lord.

Walter Epps
Walter Reed Epps, age 85, of Puryear, Tenn., died Monday, May 4, 2015, at his residence in Puryear, Tenn.
Walter married Claudean Windsor Epps December 16, 1983 and she survives. He retired as a supervisor from SKW Metal and Alloys in Calvert City, KY after 34 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran and an avid Hunter.
He was born May 19, 1929 in Benton, KY to the late Herman Epps and the late Adelle Cochran Epps.
Besides his wife Claudean, he is also survived by his One Daughter, Felicia Epps of Paducah, Ky; Two Sons, Chris Epps of Paducah, Ky, Curtis (Tammy) Epps of Paducah, Ky; Step Daughter, Rita (Donnie) Cook of Springville, Tenn; Three Step Sons, Tommy (Kathy) Cox of San Antonio, Texas, Jacky (Rose) Cox of Benton, Ky, Kenneth (Teresa) Cox of Ogden, Utah; Two Sisters, Wilma Bowles of Camden, Tenn, Verda Plant of New Johnsonville, Tenn; One Brother, Ernest (Louise) Epps of Benton, Ky; Grandchildren, Jonathon Stephenson, Ashley Epps, and Jack Epps; Step Grandchildren, Mindy (Bryan) Lamb, David Winters, Stacy (Mercedes) Witt, Josh Cox, John (Emily) Cox, Brandi Cox, Charita Salmon, Kayla Cox, Justin (Brittany)Cox, Brandon (Kaleigh) Cox, Bryan (Loretta) Cox, and Brent Cox; Step Great Grandchildren, Drake Younger, Jade Younger, Laken (Micheal) Price, Julie Ann Cox, Amy Elizabeth Cox, Landen Cox, Zachary Salmon, Austin Salmon, Jaxon Cox, Haven Cox, Kian Cox, Tegan Cox, Jayden Cox, and Khloe Cox; and Great Great Grandchild, Sophia Price.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a Sister, Grace Thompson, and Brothers, H.H. Epps, Jr. and Joe Morris Epps.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Tuesday, May 5, 2015 and from 10 am – 1 pm Wednesday, May 6, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:00 pm Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
Family and Friends will Speak at the service. Pallbearers will be Tracy McKinney, Steven Dabb, Hunter Taylor, Grant Hunter, Tom Frommell, and Bobby Deitz.
Interment will be in Memorial cemetery in Paris, Tenn.

Linda Hargrove
Linda Hargrove, age 70, of Paris, died May 1, 2015 at Paris Health Care.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
She was born September 3, 1944 in Murray, Kentucky to William Herbert Rumfelt and Roberta Elizabeth Bucy Rumfelt.
Linda was formerly married to James Franklin Hargrove, he preceded her in death.
Linda was a sitter and caregiver for many years. Her grandson, who affectionately knew her as "Nanny" said that she spent her life takign care of others and would always be his devoted hero.
She has one daughter, Stephanie Hargrove, of Paris, and a son, James "Jimmy" Hargrove of St. Petersburg, FL. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Bell.
Her brothers, Bill Rumfelt and Joe Rumfelt, also preceded her in death.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her grandchildren, Jake Hargrove, Robert Worrall, Devin "Doo Dog" Worrall, Zach Hargrove, and preceded in death by Amanda Lynn Worrall.
She is also survived by longtime friends, Diana(Robert) Dunlap, Lynn Morgan and Shirley Lockhart.
