Jeannette McFarlin
Jeannette Snow McFarlin, age 81, of Paris, Tenn., died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Paris Healthcare & Rehab Center in Paris, Tenn.
Jeannette married
Mac McFarlin Jr. December 24, 1950 and he preceded in death March 18, 1981. With her husband and daughter, she lived in many cities including St. Louis, MO, Mobile, AL. Vicksburg, MS, Meridian, MS, Nashville, TN, Bowling Green, KY, Evansville, IN, Boonville, IN, Dayton, OH, and Celina, OH.
While in Celina, she worked for many years at The Daily Standard newspaper, where she was a perforator, proofreader, wrote feature stories and covered the police and courthouse beats. She was also instumental in establishing the Auglaize-Mercer County Community Action Commission (CAC), Project Liberation, Head Start and other programs. She was the Board President of the Community Action Commission there for several years. She also served on the Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC) board of Northwest Ohio for several years.
In his autobiography, "Winking At Life", Wink Martindale wrote about his Friendship with Mac and Jeannette McFarlin which began while Martindale and McFarlin both worked at WDXI in Jackson, TN. Jeanette was born May 30, 1933 in Paris, TN to the late Cecil Snow and the late Ellie Brady Snow. She was a member of East Wood Church of Christ in Paris and attended Atkins Porter School and Graduated from Grove High School.
She is survived by her One Daughter, Shannon McFarlin of Paris, Tenn; Half Sister, Jane Weisenfels of Richmond, VA; Half Brother-John Snow of Richmond, VA; and Several Niece and Nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 5 – 7 pm Thursday, April 16, 2015 and from 9 – 10 am Friday, April 17, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Friday, April 17, 2015.
Randy Stephens will officiate. Pallbearers will be Monte Belew, Gaines Hedges, Rick Owen, and Pat Terrell.
Interment will be at Walker cemetery in Paris, Tenn.

George Thoresen
Carpenter and artist, George R. Thoresen age 55 of Buchanan, TN passed away Tuesday April 7, 2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
Visitation will be Saturday April 18, 2015 beginning at 2:00PM until time of his memorial service, 3:00PM at Antioch United Methodist Church.
Thoresen was born September 12, 1955 in Dover, New Jersey to the late Roy A. Thoresen, Sr. and Grace Holt of Buchanan, TN. He was married
August 16, 2001 to Gladys "Ann" Wyse Thoresen, who preceded March 30, 2011.
He was a graduate of Morris Knolls in Denville, New Jersey. He loved fishing and the Florida Keys.
He is survived by his step-father: John Holt, Buchanan; God mother: Mary Lou Sutherland, New York; daughters: Kim (Ben) Mueller, Succasunna, NJ, Elizabeth (Dan) Wojciechowski; son: Michael (Shelia) Thoresen, Monroe Bridge, MA; sister: Nancy Gross, Buchanan, TN; brothers: Roy (Louise) Thoresen, Jr., Sparta, NJ, James Thoresen, Buchanan, TN; grandchildren: nine; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Maurine Hendrix
Homemaker and Paris resident Maurine Hendrix, 96, passed away Sunday April 12, 2015 at Paris Healthcare Center.
Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00PM Tuesday, April 14, 2015 and after 11:00AM Wednesday.
Her funeral service will be at 2:00PM Wednesday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Dr. John Smith of Fairview Baptist Church officiating, burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
She was born September 28, 1918 in Crockett County, TN to the late Benjamin H. Halbrook and Paul Douglas McCord Stroud and was the step-daughter of the late Joseph Stroud.
She was married
to Zack Harrison who preceded in 1979 and later married
to James Curtis Hendrix, he preceded in 1994.
Mrs. Hendrix was a longtime member of Buchanan Baptist Church. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was an avid gardener who loved her flowers. A family member said that she was a very plain spoken lady who loved her family and had strong Christian values.
She is survived by a son: John Harrison, Buchanan, TN; thirteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded by a brother: Joseph Harrison in infancy; sisters: Peggy Anderson, Alabama Davis, Wilma Davis; brothers: James Halbrook, Leonard Halbrook and Joseph Stroud.
Carol Sparks
Carol Sparks, age 71, of Buchanan, died Friday, April 3, 2015, at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, TN.
Carol was a self employed sitter and she loved her dogs.
She was born February 26, 1944 in Bloomington, Illinois.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., April 13, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 prior to the memorial service. Randy & Lori Roberts of Chapel Hill Church in Paris, TN will officiate.
She is survived by a brother, Don (Kathy) Sparks of Henry, TN.
She was preceeded in by her parents Walter Sparks and Agnes Swanson Sparks.

Delores Anderson
Delores married
William Earl Anderson November 1, 1964 and he preceded in death August 20, 2012.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the UMW and had served on various committees. She was a Lifelong member of the Paris Garden Club and was a Master Gardener. She worked as a volunteer with several organizations in Paris and Henry Co. for many years.
She was born August 9, 1934 in Bruceton, TN to the late Omar Calhoun Horton and the late Cora Lewis White Horton.
She is survived by her One Daughter, Karla Anderson Gurton of Paris, Tenn; One Son, William E. "Bill" (Christy) Anderson, Jr. of Paris, Tenn; Grandchildren, Caroline Gurton, Wesley Gurton, Lauren Anderson, Lindsey Anderson, and William E. "Tripp" Anderson, III; Brother-In-Law, James Fred Anderson of McKenzie, TN; and Several Nieces and Nephews.
Besides her Husband and Parents, Delores was also preceded in death by Brothers, Omar Calhoun "O.C." Horton, Jr., and Elree Horton.

Rachel Mangrum
Rachel Sparks Mangrum, age 93, of Buchanan, Tenn., died Monday, April 6, 2015, at her Care Givers Residence in Paris, Tenn.
Mrs. Mangrum married
Paul Watson Mangrum December 14, 1940 and he preceded in death August 2, 1989.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was the former teacher of the Nelle Robertson Sunday School Class. She enjoyed flowers and yardwork and especially loved her Grandchildren and visiting friends in Benton Co.
She was the daughter of the late Ernest Sparks and the late Laura Floyd Sparks.
Mrs. Mangrum is survived by One Son, Luther W. "Bud" (Linda) Mangrum of Buchanan, Tenn; One Sister, Hazel Alexander of Eva, Tenn; Three Brothers, Fred Sparks of Eva, Tenn., Jerry "J-Bird" Sparks of Camden, Tenn., and Darrell Sparks of Arizona; Grandchildren, Paula (John) Perkins of Buchanan, TN, Tracy (Tommy) Hayes of Paris, TN, Dale A. Rogers of Paris, TN; Great Grandchildren, Lesly (John) Sherman, Morgan Perkins & Fiance Justin Chilcutt, Melinda and Murray Perkins, Jordan, Jamison, Jarrett, & Jackson Hayes; Great Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Katelyn, & Lydia Sherman; and Special Care Giver, Rita (Scott) Evans.
Mrs. Mangrum also preceded in death by Daughter, Katie Lou Mangrum; and brother, Frank Sparks.

Ricky Owen
Ricky Lynn Owen, age 46, of Paris, Tenn., died Monday, April 6, 2015, at Jackson Madison Co. Gen. Hosp. in Jackson, Tenn.
He was a member of the Henry County Rescue Squad and Springville Baptist Church. He was also Captain of the Springville Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a Truck Driver for Denton's Trucking.
He was the son of the late Willie Owen and the late Lillian Turner Owen.
He is survived by a one Daughter, Shay Marie Owen of Paris, Tenn; One Brother, Garry (Christina) Owen of Springville, Tenn; Nieces and Nephews, David Owen, Jason Owen, Christy Owen, Tiffany Owen, Holly Owen, and Rafeil Owen.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Willie G. Owen.

She was preceded by her husband: James K. Smyth, May 25, 1997; a son: Josh Smyth, August 10, 2003; husband: Gene Sammons; her parents: James Curtis and Lura Kate Dickson Chandler; sister-in-law: Rubye Chandler; brothers: James William Chandler, Bobby Eugene Chandler and a brother-in-law: L.T. "Jonah" McKenzie, January 4, 2014.
Georgia was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She worked at Commercial Bank and Trust Company with over 15 years of service. She made and sold jewelry, briefly having a store in Paris. Additionally she had a dress shop and an original accessories business in Murray, KY. Georgia was also a wonderful mother and homemaker.
