Danny Hilt
Former brick mason and Henry resident, Danny Preben Hilt, 59, passed away at his residence Thursday April 2, 2015 following a terminal illness.
Visitation will be Sunday April 12, 2015 11:00AM until time of his memorial service at 3:00PM at McEvoy Funeral Home.
He was born July 6, 1955, in East St. Louis, IL, to the late Charles Edward and Violet Kay Calhoun Hilt.
He married
Donna Sue Woolford Hilt December 9, 1978, she survives.
Family members said he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survived by daughters: Linda Buie, Paris, ReGina Hilt, Paris, Danielle (Joe Dinkins) Hilt, Paris; sons: Danny (Christy) Allen, McKenzie, Kevin (Kari) Hilt, Henry; sisters: Kathy Hilt, Lexington, KY, Toni (Danny) Brockwell, McKenzie, Tina Hilt, New Concord, KY; a brother: Steve (Sarah) Hilt, Puryear; grandchildren: Violet Hayes Hilt, Alexis Riley Hilt, Summer Morgan Hilt, Astrid Preben Dinkins, Gage Dinkins, Abriel Buie, Ariel Allen; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded by a brother: Chuck Hilt.
Gerald Peters
Gerald L. Peters, age 63 of Paris, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2015 at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville, TN. His funeral service will be held at McEvoy Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Marty Laney officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday at McEvoy Funeral Home and after 12:00 P.M. Friday.
Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Dorothy Green Peters of Paris whom he married
on December 2, 1978. He is also survived by two sons: Jason L. Tubbs of Tiptonville, TN and Gerald L. Peters II of Paris, TN; sisters: Cathy Peters of Chicago, IL, Diana Peters of Chicago, IL, Sandra (Vicente) Cordero of Chicago, IL, Glenna Peters of Chicago, IL; grandchildren: Jacob and Katie Crabtree, Tyler, Larry and Erin Tubbs as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elsie Johnson Peters; two sisters: Carly Peters and Donna Blucher; four brothers: Sterling, Gary, Larry and Danny Peters.
Marie Carroll
Marie Dallas Carroll, age 90 of Paris, died Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Arbor Place in Clinton, KY.
Marie married
December 23, 1940 to Robert Lee Carroll and he preceded in death September 13, 1994 .
Marie was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church and she loved to cook and read and watch The Waltons.
She was born March 29, 1925 in Cottage Grove, TN to the late Porter Thompson and the late Myrtie Ray Thompson.
She is survived by her, Daughter, Linda Carroll of Clinton, KY; Granddaughter, Paula (Ricky) Nance, Grandson, Clint (Vicky) Todd, Grandson, Jody (Tara) Todd, and Granddaughter, Cindy Carroll; 7 Great Grandchildren, and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by Four sisters, Grace Thompson Smith, Fossie Thompson Kuykendall, Nannie Thompson Pullen, and Katherine Thompson Cronin; Two brothers, Noble and Jessie Thompson.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street Paris, TN 38242, where the Visitation will be from 12 – 2 pm Monday April 6, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm Monday at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home. Corey Cain will officiate. Family members will serve as Pallbearers.
Burial will follow in Olive Branch cemetery near Cottage Grove, TN.
William "Bill" Magee
William "Bill" Magee, age 67, of Paris, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Henry County Healthcare Center.
His body is to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Juanita Carter
Juanita Carter, age 93, of Mansfield, Tenn., died Friday, April 3, 2015, at Henry County Healthcare Center in Paris, Tenn.
Juanita married
Marion E. "Red" Carter April 15, 1939 and he died June 13, 1947 in the L&N Railroad Drawbridge accident in Clarksville, TN. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in Mansfield and formerly worked at Salant and Salant and was a Nurse's Aid at Henry County Nursing Home.
She was born September 22, 1921 in Mansfield, TN to the late Clarence Paschall and the late Sula Lucille Thompson Paschall.
She is survived by her One Son, Lou (Bettye) Carter of Paris, Tenn; One Daughter-in-law, Charlene Carter of Mansfield, Tenn; Grandchildren, Larry Timothy Carter of Mansfield, TN, Tony Lynn (Nancy) Carter of Hopkinsville, KY, Dr. Stephanie (Stan) Dunagan of Paris, TN, and Dr. Stephen L. Carter of Chicago, IL; Great Grandchildren, Lesley Carter, Sophie Carter, Will Carter, Joe Carter, Jake Carter, Jon Carter, Austin and Taylor Dunagan.
Besides her Husband and Parents, Juanita was also preceded in death by a Son, Larry E. Carter.

Brenda Steele
Brenda L. Steele, age 67, of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, April 2, 2015, at her residence in Paris, Tenn.
Brenda married
Don Lewis Steele, Sr. Oct. 2, 1970, and he preceded in death Dec. 5, 2010. She owned and operated Steele Restaurant Supply with him. She was a member of the Prospect Baptist Church in Hollow Rock. TN and a former Member of Paris Henry County Rescue Squad when females were known as "Crewettes".
She also enjoyed her family and grandchildren.
She was born July 29, 1947 in Milan, TN to the late Ruben Dodd and the late Edna Waters Dodd.
Brenda is survived by her One Daughter, Heather Steele of Paris, Tenn; One Son, Don (Jeannine) Steele, Jr. of Paris, Tenn; One Brother, Bill (Mickey) Dodd of Hollow Rock, Tenn; Grandchildren, Austin Steele, Brendon Steele, and Will Smith; Special Niece, Debbie (Durante) Pryor and her family Christie Hall & Chuck (Christi) Hall.
Besides her husband and parents, Brenda was also preceded in death by a Son, Jeffrey Lewis Steele.

Lucille Clendenin
Lucille Wofford Clendenin, age 95, of Paris, Tenn., died Thursday, April 2, 2015, at her residence in Paris, Tenn.
She was married
to Carl Porter Wofford May 14, 1937, and he preceded in death Nov. 2, 1958. She then married
John A. Clendenin Oct. 30, 1965, and he died March 1, 1978. She formerly owned and operated Wofford's Grocery for 21 years in Springville and then managed Amon Evan's Hunting Lodge for 21 years. She was a member of the Martha Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Lucille was born November 24, 1919 in Ft. Henry, TN to the late Willie Andrew Sexton and the late Minnie Clyde McGee Sexton.
She is survived by her One Daughter, Carolyn (James) Thornhill of Southhaven, Miss; Two Sons, Jimmy (Marsha) Clendenin of Paris, Tenn, Franklin "Oscar" Clendenin of Buchanan, Tenn; Grandchildren, Carrie (David) Johnson of Paris, TN, John Clendenin of Paris, TN, Roger (Paige) Clendenin of Paris, TN, Joey (Christie) Thornhill of Southhaven, MS, David Thornhill of Southhaven, MS, Jamie (Devlin) Clendenin of St. Louis, MO, Van Clendenin of St. Louis, MO, Christa (Eddie) White of Paris, TN; Several Great Grandchildren; and 3 Special Caregivers.
Lucille was also preceded in death by Sons, Carl Bernard Wofford, and David Leon Wofford; Sisters, Ruby Atkins & Pearl Wofford.

Earl Shankle
Earl P. Shankle, age 89 of Paris, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Shankle was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII with the 86th Black Hawk Infantry Division. He worked and retired from Plumley Rubber Company with over 40 years of service. Earl loved fishing, drawing, wood working, cooking country ham breakfast at Christmas and dancing with his wife.
He is survived by two daughters: Jena Barnes and Judy Collins both of Paris; two sons: Alvin (Margie) Shankle and Billy (Sherry) Johnson both of Paris; grandchildren: Heather Ray, Amanda Hendrix, Thomas Johnson, Heather Presson, Marie Lee, Wesley Hardin, Tonya Buxton, Stephen Collins; great-grandchildren: sixteen; Aunt: Minnie Bess Williams; several nephews including: Daryl and Larry Harris; cousin: Janice King and by his "faithful friends and sitters".
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Shankle August 12, 2012, they were married
April 2, 1948; parents: Alvin E. and Ruth Williams Shankle; sons-in-law: Bill Barnes and Robert "Shag" Collins; sisters: Mae F. Harris, Garneta Bushart; brothers: Thomas Eugene "Gene" Shankle and Gaylin Shankle.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, April 4, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Allison and Bro. Cliff Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are Ted Lee, Wesley Hardin, Paul Hendrix, Randy Presson, Thomas Johnson, Luther Ray, Brandon Buxton and Stephen Collins. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00PM Friday and after 9:00AM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Lena Myrick
Lena Mae Snow Myrick, age 95 of Paris, passed away on Tuesday March 31, 2015 at Henry County Healthcare Center. Mrs. Myrick was a member of Chapel Hill Methodist Church formerly of Paris. She worked and retired from Holley Carburetor Plant with over 30 years of service. Lena enjoyed sewing and gardening.
She is survived by a daughter Norma (Bill) Weaver, Paris; granddaughter: Leigh Ann (Keith) Crutcher, Gainesville, FL; great-granddaughter: Courtney Crutcher and a nephew: Bobby Turney, Lenoir City, TN.
She was preceded by her husband: James C. Myrick January 27, 1997, they were married
June 26, 1938; parents: Thomas P. and Lena Trotter Snow; son: James T. "Bubba" Myrick; sister: Mable Turney; granddaughter: Angela Horn; great-granddaughters: Leslie Horn and Jennifer Horn.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00PM Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. John Smith of Fairview Baptist Church officiating, burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers are Dennis Campbell, Johnny Myrick, Jamie Myrick, Bernie Bomar, Phillip Steele and Joe Houston.
Visitation will begin at 1:00PM Saturday until service time.
