Georgia Newport
Mrs. Georgia Lee Boyd Newport, age 95 formerly of Puryear, TN passed away on Tuesday March 31, 2015 at the Huntingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Huntingdon. Georgia was a Girl Scout leader, helped with taking the Census and was very active with the Henry County Helping Hands. She was an avid gardener and loved flowers. A family member said she was a very loving, giving and compassionate person. She did factory work in Michigan and worked at Holley Carburetor Plant formerly of Paris.
She is survived by a daughter: Regina Beth Hill Culver, Puryear; grandchildren: Sue (Jason) Zarins, Matt(Stephanie)Hill; great-grandchildren: Adam, Benjamin and Carah Noble, Belinda, Conner and Nathaniel Hill; great-great-grandchildren: three; nieces: Ginny Cate, Julie Johnson; nephews: George Bearden, Jim Bearden; special friends and children: Billie (Bill) Mosley, Mike (Tammy) Wimberley, Ross Wimberley, Paul (Catherine) Korp and Edith Bucy.
She was preceded by her husband: Arch Alan Wikowsky June 25, 1950, they were married May 16, 1942; husband: Sherman C. Newport October 21, 1993, they were married May 30, 1953; parents: George Washington and Rachel Melissa Dooley Boyd; sister: Thelma Bearden and a brother: Harold Boyd.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Point Pleasant cemetery in Buchanan with Bro. Mike Wimberley of Cottage Grove Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until 12:00PM Thursday April 2, 2015 at McEvoy Funeral Home of Paris.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of ones choice.

Robert West
Robert L. "Bob" West, age 81, of Paris, passed away on Sunday March 29, 2015 at Henry County Medical Center. Mr. West was a longtime employee of Emerson Electric formerly of Pairs with 0ver 24 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and lover of animals.
He is survived by his wife: Norma Lindsey West of Paris and a special neighbor and friend: Sharon Greene of Paris.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Francis Sydney West and Amelia Rose Buckland West; four sisters and three brothers.

Lottie Vaughn
Lottie Mae Vaughn, age 80, of Paris, TN, died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin, TN.
She was a former waitress at Redmon's BBQ, and she enjoyed babysitting and kept many children in the community.
She was born June 23, 1934, in Puryear, TN, to the late Luther Thompson and the late Nellie Walters.
She is survived by her former husband, Ray Vaughn of Paris, TN; brother, Bobby Thompson of Paris, TN; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews
She was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, where the visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, April 2, 2015. The funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 2, 2015, with Randy Potts officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery in McKenzie, TN.

Marjorie Cooper Marshall
Marjorie Cooper Marshall, age 84, of Paris, died Friday, March 27th at her residence.
Marjorie was born on July 24, 1930 in Red Level, AL. She married Charles Marshall on November 17, 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Paris. Marjorie loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Kenny (Sandra) Paschall of Puryear, TN and Wayne (Emily) Wilson, Paris, TN. Sister-in-Law: Louise Travis, of Paris. Brother: Stanley Cooper of Paris. Six grandchildren: Jennifer Starks, Ross Paschall, Lisa Wilson, Allie Wilson, Trent Wilson and Madilyn Wilson. Three great-grandchildren: Torie and Gage Starks and Mia Kendall. Nephews: Randy Cooper, Tony Cooper, Mike Cooper and Tracy Cooper.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Standley H. Cooper and Lois Costen Cooper, husband, Charles Marshall, and son Sydney Cooper Wilson.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 29th at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Cemetary. Dr. Rob Martin will officiate.
Memorials may be made to: First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 25, Paris, TN, 38242.

Lucile Hull
Lucile Hull, age 101 of Paris, died Tuesday March 24th at her residence. There will be a private graveside service for family and friends.
She worked for the Dept. of Agriculture in Henry County and became Secretary to the Department of Defense in Washington DC during WWII.

Tammy Sue Lewis
Tammy Sue Lewis, age 50 of Buchanan, TN passed away on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at her residence. A family member said that Tammy's constant companion was her puppy dog "Lee" whom she always placed blame on when anything went wrong.
She is survived by nieces: Sherry Lee, Retha Lee, Lisa Brown, Kim Perry; nephews: Damen Lee, Kent Lee, Mark Lee, Mike Lee, Billy Low, Jr., Randall Perry, Rodney Wood and ten great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Benny and Beatrice Cruise Lewis; sisters: Linda Wood, Ann Perry and a brother: Billy Lowe.

Paul Smothers
Paul "Twister" Smothers, Jr., age 59 of Paris, passed away on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Mr. Smothers was a member of TVCC of Paris. He attended many technology classes and received multiple degrees in business and computers. A family member said that Paul had been disabled most of his life from childhood polio and that he enjoyed spending time with his special pet and friend "Minnie" a miniature Chihuahua.
His is survived by his wife Lorelle King Smothers of Paris, they were married July 6, 2009. His daughters: Crystal Mayo, Paris, April Smothers, Evansville, IN, Paige Smothers, Evansville, IN; son: Paul Smothers, III, Texas; sister: Patricia Baylock, Dover; brothers: Bill (Sonya) Smothers, Paris and Alvin (Christina) Smothers, Union City.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul E. Smothers, Sr., Brenda Hatcher Smothers; and a nephew: Michael Smothers.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at TVCC of Paris with Bro. Steve Gallimore officiating.

David Smith
Gene David Smith, Jr., age 60, of Murray, Ky., formerly of Paris, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
David was the former Finance Director for the City of Paris. He was a Member of First Baptist Church, Paris and was a former member of the Paris Lions Club.
David was born November 15, 1954 in Muncie, IN to the late Gene David Smith, Sr. and the late Patricia Metzcar Smith.
He is survived by his Two Sons, Matthew (Rhonda) Smith of Murray, Ky, and Christopher Smith of Indianapolis, Ind; One Sister, Kristi (Mike) Barnett of Chesterfield, Va; Grandchildren, Tyler Sirls, and Trenton Sirls; Niece, Kelli Barnett of Portsmouth, VA; and Nephew, Michael Barnett of Birmingham, AL.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 5 – 8 pm Friday, March 27, 2015 and from 9 – 10 am Saturday, March 28, 2015. The Funeral Service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Larry Simmons will officiate.
Interment will follow in Murray City cemetery in Murray, Ky.

Ollie Dunlap
Ollie V. Dunlap, age 87, of Oakfield, TN, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Jackson Madison Co. Gen. Hosp. in Jackson, TN.
Ollie married Rubert I. Dunlap on April 18, 1947 and he preceded in death May 31, 1987. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Beech Bluff, TN. Ollie was a former member of Fairview Baptist Church when she lived in Paris and former member of Puryear Baptist Church when she lived near Puryear. She retired from Holley Carburetor Plant and formerly worked at Brown Shoe Company. Ollie was a loving mother and Grandmother who enjoyed cooking and her dog "Katie".
She was born January 22, 1928, in Como, TN, to the late Talmadge D. Wyatt and the late Annie R. Stalling Wyatt.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Diffee Elford of Oakfield, Tenn.; two sisters, Christine Townsend of Paris, TN and JoAnn Parker of Paris, TN; one brother, Bobby Wyatt of Paris, TN; two grandsons, Franklin Scott Diffee of Lexington, TN; and Gregory Kyle (Ginger) Diffee of Beech Bluff, TN; four great- grandchildren, Hayden Diffee, Maddox Diffee, Lylah Diffee, and Jacy Elliott; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded by a son, Franklin Dwight Dunlap; two sisters, Shirley Revel and Mary Wyatt; two brothers, Junior Wyatt and Clifford Wyatt.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, where the visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday, March 23, 2015. The funeral service will be at LeDon Chapel of Ridgeway Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Monday, March 23, 2015, with Bro. Lewis Screws and Scott Diffee officiating.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Sanders, Tim Wyatt, Jeff Townsend, Hayden Diffee, Don Parker, and Norman Doster. Bobby Wyatt will also serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Interment will be at Olive Branch cemetery in Cottage Grove, TN.
Memorials may be made to the Union Grove Baptist Church Youth Fund, 755 Beech Bluff Rd., Beech Bluff, TN 38313.

Evelyn French
Evelyn Vitris Norwood French, age 83, of Springville, Tenn., died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Paris Healthcare & Rehab Center in Paris, Tenn.
Evelyn married Rev. Morris French December 24, 1948 and he preceded in death. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church and retired from Holley Carburetor Plant after 35 years.
She was born September 9, 1931 in Mansfield, TN to the late John Robert “Bud” Norwood and the late Georgia Boyce Porter Norwood.
She is survived by her One Daughter, Debra Annette (James) Merrell of Springville, Tenn; Two Sons, Kenneth Morris (Margie) French of Water Valley, Miss, Larry Dale (Kristie) French of Buchanan, Tenn; Grandchildren, Russell (Jennifer) French, Randall (Brooke) French, Carla (Zack) Davis, Amy Denise French, Jennifer (Mike) Patterson, Adam and Chad Pierce, Kristin (Dhaval) Patel, Michael Black, Patricia Merrell, Brodie (Harleigh) Merrell, Rachael Merrell, and Hunter Merrell; 12 Great Grandchildren; and a Special Friend, Edna Norwood.
Besides her Husband and Parents, she was also preceded in death by Sisters, Mary Sanders, Bertha Lankford, and Elizabeth Scott; Brothers, Boyce Allen Norwood, Hannibal Norwood, Robert Hamilton Norwood, and John Porter Norwood.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn., where the visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Monday, March 23, 2015. Visitation will continue on Tuesday March 24, 2015 at the Henry County Tabernacle from 11 am to 2 pm with the Funeral Service at Henry County Tabernacle at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 24, 2015.
Dwight Turner will officiate. Pallbearers will be Russell French, Randall French, Zack Davis, Adam Pierce, Michael Black, and Mike Patterson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chad Pierce, Josh Davis, and Lane McClain.
Interment will be at Henry Co. Tabernacle cemetery in Springville, Tenn.
