Billy Crowe
MILAN - Billy Joe Crowe, 50, former employee of Grimco Repair, died of cancer Monday at  Jackson - Madison County General Hospital. Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery. He was a member of Fairview Church of Christ. Mr. Crowe, the husband of Christie Crowe, also leaves a daughter, Amy Bannister of Atwood; two sons, Billy Joe Crowe Jr. of Milan and Robert Gene Crowe of Bella Vista, AR; four brothers, Robert A. Crowe Jr. of Douglasville, GA, Freddie Crowe of Collierville, Jimmy Dale Crowe of Germantown and John W. Crowe of Jackson, and six grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Robert Irvine
MILAN - Robert J. Irvine, 81, retired from Erie Machine & Iron Works, died of diabetes Monday at his home. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Gibson County Memory Gardens. Bodkin Funeral Home had charge. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Irvine, the husband of Flora Irvine, also leaves a daughter, Roberta  Johnson of Toledo, Ohio, and four grandchildren.

James Shankle
PARIS - James Franklin Shankle, 82, retired water foreman for the board of public utilities, retired animal control officer and firefighter, died of heart failure Wednesday at his home. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1889,  Jones Chapel Baptist Church and the 100th Infantry Division Association of World War II. Mr. Shankle, the husband of Ruby Key Shankle, also leaves four daughters, Joan Kay Melton and Patty Jean Wheatley, both of Paris, Julia Baird of Bradford and Janie Rose Hoffman of Buchanan; two sons, Robert F. Shankle of Paris and George D. Shankle of Springville; two sisters, Marie Copeland of Paris and Elizabeth Lindsey of Detroit; a brother, Richard 'Buddy' Shankle of Cottage Grove, nine grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren.

He was a Navy veteran and a member of Milan First Baptist Church. He leaves his stepmother, Alma Holmes of Hamilton, Ohio; two sisters, Bobbie H. Belew of Milan and Judy S. Daniel of Memphis; a brother, Ranny Holmes of Memphis, and two half - sisters, Helen Evans and Deborah Sandlin, both of Hamilton. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Casey Funeral Home with burial in Chester County Memory Gardens. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Young, the widown of Bill Young, leaves a daughter, Jacqueline Bingham of Henderson; a son, Don Young of Linden; a nephew whom she helped raise, Jimmy Dyer of Henderson; two sisters, Jean Worley of  Jackson and Jackie Mayo of Milan, six grandchildren and nine great - grandchildren.

Graves, leaves two sisters, Mary Parish of  Jackson and Virginia Arnold of Memphis, and a brother, Leonard Sims of East Point, GA.

ATWOOD - J.D. Fowler, 85, retired from the Milan Army Ammunition Plant, died Monday at Methodist Healthcare - McKenzie after a stroke. Services were held Thursday at Milan First Assembly of God, where he was a member, with burial in Hickory Flat Cemetery in Cedar Grove. Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan had charge. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Fowler, the widower of Ianthus Brinkley Fowler, leaves a daughter, Ruth Williams of San Jose, CA; a sister, Clara Piercey of Jackson; a brother, Gordon Fowler of Tulsa, OK, and two grandsons. The family requests that memorials be sent to Milan First Assembly of God or Christ Chapel Church in Atwood.

He was a member of the George Cantrell Sunday School Class at Milan First Baptist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4780 and the Milan Lions Club, and served in the Coast Guard in World War II. Mr. Bullington, the husband of Elizabeth Allen Bullington, also leaves a daughter, June Bullington  Jones of Milan, three grandchildren, Johnothan  Jones of Panama City, FL, Laura Hopper of Milan and Liz Mason of Humboldt and five great - grandchildren. Crabtree of Sowell, NJ; a brother, Casey Jon Crabtree of Arlington, and his grandparents, Edith Garrett and Carol and Dick Todd, all of Pierre, SC.
