MILAN - Billy Joe Crowe, 50, former employee of Grimco Repair, died of cancer Monday at Jackson - Madison County General Hospital. Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery. He was a member of Fairview Church of Christ. Mr. Crowe, the husband of Christie Crowe, also leaves a daughter, Amy Bannister of Atwood; two sons, Billy Joe Crowe Jr. of Milan and Robert Gene Crowe of Bella Vista, AR; four brothers, Robert A. Crowe Jr. of Douglasville, GA, Freddie Crowe of Collierville, Jimmy Dale Crowe of Germantown and John W. Crowe of Jackson, and six grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.

MILAN - Robert J. Irvine, 81, retired from Erie Machine & Iron Works, died of diabetes Monday at his home. Graveside services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Gibson County Memory Gardens. Bodkin Funeral Home had charge. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Irvine, the husband of Flora Irvine, also leaves a daughter, Roberta Johnson of Toledo, Ohio, and four grandchildren.

PARIS - James Franklin Shankle, 82, retired water foreman for the board of public utilities, retired animal control officer and firefighter, died of heart failure Wednesday at his home. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1889, Jones Chapel Baptist Church and the 100th Infantry Division Association of World War II. Mr. Shankle, the husband of Ruby Key Shankle, also leaves four daughters, Joan Kay Melton and Patty Jean Wheatley, both of Paris, Julia Baird of Bradford and Janie Rose Hoffman of Buchanan; two sons, Robert F. Shankle of Paris and George D. Shankle of Springville; two sisters, Marie Copeland of Paris and Elizabeth Lindsey of Detroit; a brother, Richard 'Buddy' Shankle of Cottage Grove, nine grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren.

Daniel of Memphis; a brother, Ranny Holmes of Memphis, and two half - sisters, Helen Evans and Deborah Sandlin, both of Hamilton. He was a World War II Army veteran.
