JACOBS, MR. GARY WAYNE, 59, (June 14, 1957 – March 10, 2017) died unexpectedly Friday, March 10, 2017 in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Gary was born on June 14, 1957 and raised in Sewanee, Tennessee. He worked at Goodman Manufacturing, Inc in Fayetteville, Tennessee. He had been employed previously with Shaw Industries for over 20 years. He loved to ride his Harley, classic rock music, and spending time with friends and family. Gary is survived by his daughter, Alicia (David) Pitts, of Woodbury, Tennessee; fiancé, Pennye Champion, of Winchester, Tennessee; and numerous cousins and countless friends. He is preceded in death my his mother, Bertha Louise Jacobs; grandparents, Sam and Ollie Mae Jacobs; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of life service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 18, 2017 with visitation from 10:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Cumberland Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

SCOTT, MRS. MARY A., age 78, (October 24 1938 – March 10, 2017), of Sewanee passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, at STRHS- Winchester. Mrs. Scott had retired from the cafeteria at St. Andrews-Sewanee School. She was a daughter of the late George Mitt Tate and Flossie Wise Tate and was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Scott; brothers, Rance, Bill and Tim Tate; sister, Louise Hamby; granddaughter, Elizabeth Scott Sanders. Survivors include her sister, Cindy Jane Tate; children, Sherry Dykes, Timothy (Edith) Scott, Milton (Donna) Scott, Paul Scott, Mark (Susan) Scott; grandsons, William Lee Scott and Joshua Dykes; granddaughters, Rachel (Danny), Laura Scott; great-grandsons, Timothy Sanders, Devin Sanders; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Mickey Henley officiating. Burial will be in Monteagle Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday 4-8 P.M. Arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home of Monteagle.

RHEA, MRS. MARY RUTH, age 76, (June 25, 1940 – March 1, 2017) of Tracy City, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at STRHS of Winchester. Mrs. Rhea was born June 25, 1940 in Cowan, TN to the late Carl Lowe and the late Louise Patty Lowe. She was a homemaker and attended Baker’s Chapel Church. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Rhea; sister, Mildred “Mickey” Melton; nephews, Jack Lowe, Steve Melton and wife Kim; nieces, Sherry Caldwell and husband Tim, Kim Hall and husband Marty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Kenny, Herman, and Louis Lowe. Funeral Services will be at Foster and Lay Funeral Home in the chapel Saturday, March 4, at 12:00 Noon with Bro. Larry Layne officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a period of visitation Friday from 5 until 9 PM. Foster and Lay Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

LOCKHART, MRS. CECILIA, G., 75, (1941 – 2017), of the Griffiths Creek Community, died, Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born in Pitcher, Oklahoma on March 7, 1941 to Clay F. and Imogne Moreland Smith who preceded her in death along with her husband, Harold Lockhart; daughter, Brenda Lee Olters. She is survived by her sons, James (Renita) Lockhart, Whitwell, Bill and David (Melanie) Lockhart both of Dunlap; brother, Bruce Smith, Denton, TX; sister, Linda Henry, Austin, TX; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services were held Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Ernest Lockhart officiating. Burial followed in the Griffiths Creek Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

NUNLEY, MR. MARK DOUGLAS, age 63, passed away at his home in Fernandina Beach, FL, on Friday, March 3, 2017, following a long and courageous battle with leukemia. He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Jr. and brother, Tim Nunley.Mark is survived by his wife of 15 years, Shirley; children, Robert (Harmony), Libby (Jason); mother, Violet; brother, Greg (Nancy); sisters, Rita (Willie), Geneva (Bill), Nila (Smiley), Marlene (Mike), and Terry (Rick); 11 grandchildren.Mark was retired from CSX railroad after 30 plus years of service. He was a pastor for the Primitive Baptist Church in Davenport, Fl. He was also a long term member of the MacClenny Baptist Church with his pastor David Crawford and a host of beloved brothers and sisters in Christ. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Orange Hill Church in Tracy City, burial will be in the Orange Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M Thursday at the church. Please consider memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , Baptist/MD Anderson Cancer Center at Jacksonville or Mayo Hospital at Jacksonville. Arrangements were provided by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, TN.

NUNLEY, MRS. MARY MAGDALENE, “DUCK”, 102, (1914 – 2017), of Coalmont, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at the STRHS- Sewanee Hospital. She was born in Tracy City, Tennessee on April 22, 1914, to Morgan and Beulah Carrick Johnson who preceded her in death along with her husband, James H. Nunley; sons, Clarence, Max and George Ladue Nunley; daughters, Janie Smartt and Elaine Shadrick; sisters, Betty Sue Johnson and Ruby G. Curtis; brothers, Elbert, Loys, Bill, Barney, Jack and Wesley Johnson; granddaughter, Penelope Liz Nunley; grandsons, Donnie, Michael "Mody" Nunley, Jeff Seagroves, and Allan Lawson; step-children, Bill Nunley, Charles Nunley, and Gladys McGee. She is survived by her son, Joe (Ann) Nunley; daughters, Jean Nunley, Lois Seagroves, Donna (Bernard) Knost, Ruth (Bill) Braden, Pamela Nunley (Craig Morris), and Paula "Kate" (Barry) Braden; sister, Josephine Caldwell; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.She was a member of the Chestnut Springs Congregational Methodist Church and the Orange Hill Memorial Association.Funeral services were held Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Freddie Savage and James Caldwell officiating. TROGLIN, MR. TONY, DALE, 54, (1962 – 2017), of Gruetli-Laager, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the STRHS-Sewanee Hospital. He was born in Dunlap, TN on August 18, 1962 to Buster Troglin and Ruby Keener Troglin who preceded him in death along with his father-in-law, Harold Kilgore.
He was a member and Deacon of the Bibleway Holiness Church and had worked at Oster in McMinnville. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Kilgore Troglin; sister, Sheila Johnston; brother, Ricky Keener; mother-in-law, Betty Kilgore; special aunt and uncle, Claude and Alene Layne; special nephew, Lee Kilgore, special nieces, Brittany Hunter and Becca Cooper and many loving nieces and nephews.mFuneral services were held Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor J.L. Robinson and Bro. Don Layne officiating. Burial followed in the Palmer Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.

MS. DAISY, KATHERINE, age 72, of the Jump Off community near Sewanee, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Bill Owens officiating. Burial was in Monteagle Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle, TN.

NUNLEY, MR, BOBBY, C., 81, of Wickliffe. Mr. Nunley passed away February 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born February 17, 1936 in Pelham, TN. Bobby was an arc welder for Park Drop Forge for 42 years, retiring in 1998.He was a member of Willoughby Bible Church.Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Magdalene A. (Moore); daughters, Glenda (Chris) Terrell and Victoria (James) Yenchus; grandchildren, Deidra Scott, Alexander Yenchus, Mackenzie (Jon) Smart, and Erica (Gerard) Bardon; great-grandchildren, Troy and Ethan Scott and Oliver and Oren Bardon; sisters, Margaret Sanders and Henrietta Moses.He was preceded in death by his parents, Lish and Mildred Nunley; brothers, LJ and Wilson Nunley and sister Glenna Fae Brownfield.Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Brett Meeks officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-9 PM Tuesday February 28, 2017 at Cumberland Funeral Home Monteagle, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland OH 44110.Arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home of Monteagle.

KING, MRS. SHIRLEY, ANN, 67, (1949 – 2017) of Gruetli-Laager, passed away at her home Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on April 9, 1949 to Charles David White and Lois Elizabeth Stewart White who preceded her in death along with her husband, Morris King; sons, Richard Green and Derek King.She is survived by her daughter, Melisha Green; sisters, Charlotte (Dave) Fults and Kay White; grandchildren, Kelsey, Kaylee, Alaura and Sherry Green; great grandson, Edan; niece, Shannon (Jared) Hargis; great nephew, Ethan Hargis.Funeral services were held Friday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Clayton Jones officiating.
