She was retired from Tennessee Department of Public Health as a regional administrator. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, James B. and Minnie Ruth Sampley; sister Nell Wilson; brother, Jimmy Ray Sampley, her children’s father, Kerry Clay and her husband, Phillip Garner. NUNLEY, MRS. OPAL FAYE, (March 13, 1941 – February 14, 2017), 75, passed away, Tuesday February 14, 2017 at the Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN. She was born in McMinnville on March 13, 1941 to William Horton Hobbs and Ida Mai Fults Hobbs who preceded her in death along with her husband, Kermit Ray Nunley; sister, Juanita Hobbs.She owned and operated Nunley’s Grocery “Opal’s” in Altamont right up until her health declined. SWEETON, MR. CHARLES L. “SKIPPER”, (July 13, 1947 – February 6, 2017), 69, went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family, Church family and Pastor. He was born on July 13, 1947. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy D. Scissom; sister-in-law, Kathy Scissom. Skipper was a Sergeant in the US Army. He retired from Nissan after 17 years of Service.
