LOWE, MRS. VELMA T. (January 17, 1942 - April 11, 2016), 74, passed away Monday April 11, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga Tn with her family by her bedside. She was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on January 17, 1942 to Marlin Turner and Margie Sweeten Turner who preceded her in death along with husband, Kenny Lowe. She was of the Church of God faith. She is survived by her sons, Tim (Lisa) Orange and Jack Lowe; daughter, Sherri (Terry) Caldwell; brothers Bobby Turner, Ray and Charles Tipton; twin sister Thelma Gilliam; sisters, Shirley Carrick, Sue Collins and Brenda Goins; grandchildren, Shawn Caldwell, Blake Orange, Ethan Orange and Travis Caldwell; great grandson, Eli Caldwell; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Benji Goins officiating with burial to follow in the Plainview Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:oo PM till 9:00 PM at Foster and Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee and Wednesday 9:00 am - 2:00 PM

SITZ, MRS. Nancy PEARL, (October 1, 1940 - March 31, 2016), age 75, Coalmont, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her husband R. B. Sitz; son, Dan W. Sitz; mother, Lucille McDaniel; brothers, James, Paul David, Glen McDaniel; sisters, Nadine, Peggy. Survivors include her nine children, Tina Finney, Billy Sitz, Robert “Roger” Sitz, Mary Johnson, Susie Murphy, Stella Louise Anderson, Linda Longley, Paul Sitz, and Dianne Totherow; sister, Ruth Green, brother, Charles McDaniel; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. She will be loved and missed by her Family and Friends. Services will be 4:00 P.M. Saturday, March 2, 2016 at Bakers Chapel in Tracy City, with Reverend Bobby Winton and Mike Rigsby officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. At the church. Funeral arrangements are provided by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee, (931) 592-3691.

CAMPBELL, MR. GAYLON, 64, of Tracy City, passed away, Tuesday April 5, 2016 at the Sewanee Hospital. He was employed at Seymour Manufacturing at Altamont. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Campbell and Violet Hampton Campbell; brothers, Bobby Hampton and Wayne Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Mary Campbell; son, Dewayne Campbell; daughter, Amanda Campbell; brother, Ronnie (Renee) Campbell; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed in the Hobbs Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Bonnie Beatrice Campbell

CAMPBELL, MRS. BONNIE BEATRICE, (1930 – 2016) 85, of Tracy City, passed away Wednesday April 6, 2016 at the hospital in Sewanee. She was born in Tracy City on April 15, 1930 to William G. Meeks and Bonnie May Campbell Meeks who preceded her in death along with her husband, Allen E. Campbell; son, Rocky Campbell; brothers, Bobby Gene and Billy Meeks; sister, Josephine Sargeant. She is survived by her daughters, Prudance (Harold) Hall and Velvdean (Dwain) Cole; sons, Anthony (Gale) Campbell, Shane D. (Joy) Campbell, Troy Campbell; sisters, Judy (James) Barry and Brenda (Jerry) Tate; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Larry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Bonnie Oaks Cemetery. PHILLIPS, MR. JERRY LEE, (1948 – 2016), 68, of Gruetli – Laager, passed away Saturday April 2, 2016 at the Hospice Care Center of Chattanooga. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on January 30, 1948 to David Foster and Rubie Nell Davis Phillips who preceded him in death along with his brothers, Spec. Marvin F. Phillips and Billy Phillips. He was a member of the Hubbard's Cove Church of God. He is survived by his daughter, Mary L. Phillips, Manchester; sons, Bruce Wade Phillips, Manchester and Marvin Bradley (Kristi) Phillips, Gruetli-Laager; sisters, Mary Ruth (Mike) Shadrick, Palmer and Lucy (Paul) West, Jasper; brothers, James Earl Phillips, Morrison, Glenn (Terry) Phillips, Altamont and Kirk (Paula) Phillips, Gruetli-Laager; 8 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minster Jack Nance officiating. Burial will follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

BORN, MRS., VIRGIL MARIE, (1931 – 2016), 84, of Gruetli – Laager, passed away at her home Monday, March 21, 2016. She was born in Palmer, Tennessee on March 27, 1931 to Virgil Franklin and Rena Belle Higgins Green who preceded her in death along with her husband, Leonard Melvin "Snood" Borne; sister, Carrie Borne; great grandson, Sydney Borne. She is survived by her daughter, Pam (Danny) Green; sons, Gary and Lorne Borne; brother, Bobby Loyd (Perky) Green; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; Uncle, Kelly (Patsy) Higgins. Funeral services were held Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Clayton Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Burkett's Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

MCDANIEL, MRS. ANNA LEE, 10/14/1939 - 04/02/2016, 76, a light to all who knew her went to be with her Lord on April 2, 2016 surrounded by her family. Ann had a sparkling personality and a smile that brightened every room. She made every person feel special and was a giving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Ann was beloved. Ann was the daughter of the late Floyd Tate and Mary Louise Cunningham Tate. She was the youngest of three children. She was a loving wife of 52 years to Jack McDaniel who preceded her in death along with their infant daughter, Darla, her beloved grandson, Corey and her parents. Ann is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Larry) Henry, Susan (the late Peanut) Scissom and Jackie (Buddy) Sweeton; grandchildren, Jill (Jimbo) Crabtree, Chris (Rhonda) Henry, Jody Scissom, Lori Henry, Jason (Jessica) Sweeton (and baby on the way), Jazmin Sweeton (Ryan) ; greatgrandchildren, Chloe Scissom, Luke Henry, Laurel Henry and Jacie Coriann Wideman; brother, Leon “Gabby” Tate; sister, Jimmie K. Levan; several loving neices and nephews; loving companions, Shooter and Oliver. She was a member of the Gruetli Church of God. Ann had a strong faith and will be long remembered for the immeasurable gifts she gave and for the deep impression she has left on the hearts of all who knew her. Ann was a retired sewing machine operator, she took great pride in her job and enjoyed the fellowship with her co-workers and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Willard Griffin, John Potts and Matthew Meeks officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. NUNLEY, MR. ROY WAYNE, 4/7/1952 - 04/02/2016, 63, of the Flat Branch Community, passed away at his home, April 2, 2016 with his family at his bedside. He was born in Tracy City on April 7, 1952 to Jessie Herbert and Nellie Lee Morgan Nunley who preceded him in death along with his brother, Larry Nunley; sister, Virginia Short. He was a retired truck driver with Tyson and attended the Gum Springs Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Pickett Nunley; brothers, Robert (Alphene), Charles (Francine) and Kenneth (Jackie) Nunley; sister, Leda Totherow; special caregivers, Tracy Anderson, Carolyn Nunley and Melissa Mosely; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Ernest Lockhart and James Caldwell officiating with burial to follow in the Bonnie Oaks Cemetery. TATE, MR. JEFFERY LEON, 9/12/1959 - 03/30/2016, 56, passed away Wednesday March 30, 2016 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. He was born in Altamont, Tennessee on September 12, 1959. He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Flynn Tate. He was retired Road Superintendent from the City of North Ridgeville, Ohio living there 49 years before returning back home to Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Patty Reiser Tate; son, Tom (Pam) Kerper, Elyria, OH; daughter, Tina (John) Kowalczyk, North Ridgeville, OH; father, Leon Tate, Gruetli-Laager; sisters, Janice Duke, Palmer and Ginger (Kirby) Wideman, Gruetli-Laager; grandchildren, Johnny, Vivian and Trevor; nieces, Lillie, Angie (Seann) and Jordan. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Matthew Meeks officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. CAMPBELL, MRS. JENNIE GENEVA “SISTER”, 5/18/1925 - 03/30/2016, 90, passed away Wednesday March 30, 2016 at Riverpark Hospital in McMinnville. She was born in Alabama on May 18, 1925 to Allen and Octa Whitman Lockhart who preceded her in death along with her sister, Charity Norris; brothers, George “Bunk” Lockhart, C. B. “Kink” Lockhart and John Lockhart; husband, Johnny Earl Campbell. She was a homemaker and loving mother and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Altamont. She is survived by her sons, Brent (Crystal) and Bart (Audra) Campbell; sisters, Veola Hiett and Scennon Turner; brother, Andy (Blondell) Lockhart; grandchildren, Kenny (Jessica) and Jacob Earl Campbell, Shelley Campbell; great grandson Carter Joseph Campbell; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at the Mormon Church with Bishop Aaron Barrett officiating with burial to follow in the Fults Cemetery. She is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Margaret Bouldin and Elizabeth Terry. He was retired from Carrier in Morrison. He was born November 21, 1937 in Garrett, KY to Oscar and Louella Shrum who preceded him in death along with a brother, Robert Mitchell Shrum. He is survived by his wife, Carol Shrum, Tracy City, TN; sons, Doyle Allen Shrum (Brenda), Tracy City, TN, Kevin Franklin Shrum (Edi), Cagle, TN; brother, Leon Shrum, Tracy City, TN; sisters, Bertha Crisp, Tracy City, TN; Betty Shrum, Tracy City, TN; three grandchildren, Sara, Anna, and Travis.
