GALLAGHER, MRS. JANIE BELLE HINES, age 100, of Pelham, Tennessee, passed from this life Thursday, March 10, 2016, at her home. She was born April 2, 1915, a daughter of the late John and Belle Patton Gallagher and was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hines; brothers, Paul, Tom and Joe Gallagher; sister, Mary Sue Taylor; niece, Tommie Cook and Nephew Wendell Gallagher. Mrs. Hines was a member of Pelham United Methodist Church. Survivors include a niece, Jean Buckner, Hixson; great nephew, Jerry Cook, Chickamauga, GA; great nieces, Darlene Pardue, Chattanooga, Carrie Hardy and Ashleigh Bethune both of Hixson, Jennifer Ruefenacht, Bangor, Maine; several great- great nieces and nephews and one great-great-great nephew. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Pelham United Methodist Church with Reverend De Hennessy officiating. The family will receive friends Friday 5-9 P.M. at Cumberland Funeral Home in Monteagle. The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 2 P.M. until time of services. CAMPBELL, MR. WILLIAM OSCAR, age 77, of Monteagle, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents; Tom and Minnie Campbell; grandson, Matthew Campbell. Survivors include his two sons, Ronnie (Betty) Campbell, Steve (Julia) Campbell all of Monteagle, Tennessee; brothers, Jim Campbell, Oak Grove, Franklin County; Raymond Campbell, Hillsboro, Tennessee; sisters, Esther Butner, Monteagle, Tennessee; Doris Patrick, Monteagle, Tennessee; Rachel Haynes, Monteagle, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. NUNLEY, MR. TED, 83, of Palmer, passed away Tuesday March 1, 2016 at Park Ridge West in Jasper, Tennessee. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on June 3, 1932 to Simon and Lizzie Henley Nunley who preceded him in death along with his sister, Ann Cleek; brother, Bonnell Nunley; wife, Hazel Pocus Nunley. He is survived by his son, Chris Nunley; grandson, Adam Nunley; loving nieces and nephews, Delores, Angel, Allen, Alvin, Dean and Shane. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. NUNLEY, MR. MICHAEL, 63, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee where he had been living with his sister. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on July 18, 1952 to Ed and Marie Sweeton Nunley who preceded him in death along with his brother, Bill Nunley. He was retired from TVA. He is survived by his daughter, Mikaela Nunley of Hixson, Tennessee; sister, Theresa (Duncan) Brummit of Dickson, Tennessee; brother, Carl Ed (Sam) Nunley, Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee; loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Audrey Lea McBee Nunley, 41, of the Flat Branch Community, passed away Wednesday March 2, 2016 at her home with her family and friends at her bedside. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on September 26, 1974 and grew up in Palmer. She was a member of the Sweeton Hill Congregational Methodist Church and was the Librarian at Grundy County High School. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Henry and Irene Layne McBee. She is survived by her husband, Keith Alan Nunley; son, Grant Reid Nunley; parents, Charlie and Angela McBee; sister, Kimberly McBee; brother, John Montgomery "Monte" (Stacey) McBee; grandparents, Frances Marvin Lee "Leck" and Betty Creighton Coffelt; father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Jackie Nunley; special nephews, Colton and Case; niece, Jordan (Josh) Ray; several loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 5, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Potts officiating. Burial will follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery.

Doris Ann Smartt age 61, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, of Tracy City passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dillard D. Sanders and Lillian Smartt Sanders; son, Frankie Singleton; brothers, Stacy and Mahlon Sanders; sister, Loletta Sanders. Survivors include her loving husband, Lester “Punk” Smartt; children, Johnny O'Neal, Tracy City; daughters, Ginger (John) Harris, Tracy City, Ann O'Neal, Tracy City, Becky (Butch) Lipham, Rossville, GA, Rachael Johnson, Tracy City; brothers, Dillard (Beatrice) Sanders, Homer (Wanda) Sanders, Weldon Sanders, Leslie (Jeanette) Sanders, Billy Sanders and Adam Sanders all of Tracy City; sisters, Edith Nunley and Louise Dempsey both of Tracy City; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Wiley Carter Collier

Wiley Carter Collier, Jr., age 62, of Sewanee, Tennessee, passed Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Erlanger East in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Joan and Wiley Carter Collier, Sr. of Franklin, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Ruth Ann Collier, his son Wiley Carter “Bo” Collier, III, his daughters Sara Elizabeth Collier and Jessica Marie Payne, his sister Carol Ann Giles, his bother Christopher Collier, his sister-in-law Nancy Ann Adams, and siblings, nieces, and nephews.
Carter was a veteran of the United States Navy in the submarine service. He was a graduate of Tennessee Technical University, graduating with a Baccalaureate Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Funeral services will held on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Cumberland Funeral Home, 207 Mabee Avenue, Monteagle, Tennessee 37356. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 pm.
GREGORY, MRS. VIVIAN (LADD) MARIE, age 88, of Monteagle, Tennessee, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016, at her residents in Monteagle. She is preceded in death by her late husband, George Ladd; grandson, Donnie Wilkinson. Survivors include her son, Patryck Haley; daughters, Rosie Calfee; Joyce Valdes; and George Ann Gibson; brothers, Tommy Dolar; Charles Dolar; sisters, Joyce Cooley and Jean Singer; she had numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 5 from 1 - 3 pm, at 519 Lautzenheiser Place in Monteagle for friends and family. Mr. Michael Lee Nunley, 63, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee where he had been living with his sister. Emma Lyda Burkhalter - 1929 - 2016
Mrs. Emma Lyda Burkhalter, age 86, of Coalmont, formerly of Higdon, Alabama, passed away peacefully Tuesday February 16, 2016 at the Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer, Tennessee. She was born in Deer Head Cove, Alabama on April 18, 1929 to Virgil B. Lyda and Ora Medlin Lyda who preceded her in death along with her husband, James C. Burkhalter; sister, Jenny Faye Lyda; brother and his wife, Harold W. (Naomi) Lyda; sister-in-law, Trudy Lyda. Emma was a longtime member of the the Macedonia Primative Baptist Church at Ider, Alabama and the Order of the Eastern Star. Emma loved the church and always shared her faith and the word with others. After retiring as a book keeper for Gross Merchandise in Trenton, Georgia she enjoyed music, her animals, a small orchard, her family and friends who will remember and miss her dearly. She is survived by her brothers, Fred W. Lyda, Tacoma, Washington, Sandford G. (Sue) Lyda, Pascagoula, Mississippi, Will E. (Linda) Lyda, Huntsville, Alabama, Joe E. (Lynn) Lyda, Tullahoma, Tennessee; sister, Betty Lyda (John) Pittman, Coalmont, Tennessee; step-son, Elder James D. (Sara) Burkhalter, Lynchburg, Tennessee; step-daughter, Mary (Bill) Brantley, Marietta, Georgia; 3 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday February 20, 2016 at the Macedonia Primative Baptist Church at Ider, Alabama with Elder Ricky Deal and Elder Don Burkhalter officiating with burial to follow at the Flat Rock United Methodist Cemetery.
