KATHERINE TIBBS ALBRIGHT
Katherine Tibbs Albright died November 9, 2014, after a long illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, R. Taft Albright. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Tibbs, her mother, Eleanor L. Tibbs, and her sister, Charlotte Tibbs Harcourt. She was an Honorary Trustee of Christ Church Monteagle, which is the cathedral of The Episcopal Missionary Church.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Southern Heritage Funeral Home, Pelham, AL, with The Right Reverend William Millsaps officiating. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home following the memorial service. Graveside services will be held later at Christ Church, Monteagle, TN. In lieu of-flowers, Katherine requested memorials be made to Christ Church, P. O. Box 157, Monteagle, TN 37356, or to The Wounded Warrior Project.

Jayne Patterson Riddle (June 27, 2014 - November 19, 2014) Mrs. Jayne Carolyn Riddle age 76 of Huntsville, Alabama passed away Wednesday in Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Dorothy Sanders Patterson; brothers, Claude Milton Patterson, Jr. and Tronald M Patterson; daughter, Shelly J. Campana. Survivors include her husband, Billy Reid Riddle; children, Sharon C. (Steve) Chatham, Huntsville, Alabama, Terry M. (Pat) Clark, Kansas City, MO, Timothy B. Riddle, Lawtey, FL; sister, Helen Ruth Patterson, Chattanooga; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 1:30 P.M. Friday at Warren cemetery in Pelham. Arrangements are by Cumberland Funeral Home, 207 Mabee Avenue, Monteagle, Tennessee.

LEWIS, PRISCILLA FAY CALDWELL, age 53, passed away November 14 at her home in the arms of her husband. She was born February 28, 1961 in Midway, Franklin County, to Floye Green and Melvin Ray Caldwell.
Priscilla was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Tracy City serving tirelessly in the nursery giving each child her special kind of love and compassion. She was also an animal lover and had rescued numerous cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Joyce Simmons. She is survived by her husband of 28 years Phillip Lewis; sisters, Melody Sweeton and Susan Caldwell; brothers, Johnny Ray Caldwell, and Benji Caldwell; special friends, Patricia Street, Larry and Jackie Scarborough, Drucilla and Larry Myers, Jo Parson, Donna Cunningham, Diane Schlageter and numerous more, to many to list.
A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church, Tracy City, Saturday, November 22 with Reverend Ben Curtis officiating. Visitation is at 2 P.M. with a memorial service to follow at 3 P.M. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be made to Foster & Lay Funeral Home, P. O. Box 459, Tracy City, TN 37387. . Arrangements were made by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy city, TN.

JOHNSON, MORGAN, JACKSON, age 81, of Altamont passed away at his home with his family near. He was a coalminer for 45 years, Custodian at Tracy City Elementary and Preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ at many Congregational Methodist and Baptist Congregations in the area. He was born in Tracy City on May 9, 1933 to Morgan and Beulah Carrick Johnson who preceded him in death along with his wife and mother of his children, Alene Gipson Johnson; sister, Betty Sue Johnson; brothers, Elbert, Loys, Wes, Bill and Barney Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Rollins Johnson; son, Jeff (Roxanne) Johnson; daughters, Jackie (Donnie) McBee and Kendra (Stephen) Frederick; sisters, Mary “Duck” Nunley, Ruby Curtis and Josephine Caldwell; step-children, Debbie (Jeff) Broadway, Anthony (Cheryl) Tate, Jerry Tate and Tammy (Dennis) Sons; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a host of loving step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Dal Barrett and Ikie Slatton officiating. Burial followed in the Gregg Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.

GRIFFITH, RACHEL SLATTON, age 82 of the Griffith’s Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday November 9, 2014 with her family at her side. She was of the Methodist faith and retired from Signal Knitting Mill in Chattanooga. She was born in Palmer on June 21, 1932 to Huke and Bertha Kilgore Slatton who preceded her in death along with her husband of 66 years, William Griffith Jr. who passed away October 23, 2014; sisters, Elsie Slatton, Margie Smith and Dorothy Higgins; brothers, Evertt, Frank, Johnny, Bill Curg and Wallace Slatton. She is survived by the children of her heart, Jeannie (Buddy) Richardson, Jeremy (Marie) Robinson, Rebekah (Wally) Nolan and Norman (Tisa) Robinson; sister, Norna Mae (Rod) Campbell; brothers, R. B. (Carolyn) Slatton and Horace Ray (Zella) Slatton; a host of nieces and nephews. A special thanks to NHC of Dunlap and Amedisys Hospice for their special care.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Layne Funeral Home, Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Robinson officiating. Burial followed in the Griffith’s Creek Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

SMARTT, GINA LYNN, age 41, of Beersheba Springs passed away at her home Sunday November 9, 2014. She was born in McMinnville on October 31, 1973. She was a 1991 graduate and cheerleader at Grundy County High School. She is survived by her daughter, Samantha M. Meeks; granddaughter, Marlie Meeks; father, Robin Sr. (Diane) Smartt; mother, Lola Tate Harding; brother, Robin Smartt Jr. ; nieces, Mirrandie, Desaray and Kylie Brook Smartt. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed in the Altamont Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.

JONES, TWILA, age 60, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at her home. She was born in Whitwell, Tennessee on September 15, 1954 to Ulys Clayton and Lorene LeCroy Miller who preceded her in death along with her brother, Bud Miller; sister, Sharon Williams. She is survived by her husband, Marshall Jones; daughter, Stephanie (Eric) Sherman, Decatur, TN; granddaughter, Shelby Sherman and soon to be granddaughter, Sandy Sherman; brother, Terry (Judy) LeCroy; sister-in-law, Charlene Miller; brother-in-law, Edwin Williams Jr. ; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Terry LeCroy officiating and cremation followed. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

DOOLEY, BERRY LEE, JR., age 75, of Tracy City, Tennessee passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Raintree Manor in McMinnville. He was born in Columbia, Tennessee, a son of the late Berry Lee Dooley and Lois Anderson Dooley and was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Dooley and an infant daughter, Roxanne. Berry was a member of Mt. Oak Primitive Baptist Church and was a retired law enforcement officer. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary “Patty” Dooley; sons, Berry Lee Dooley, III, Lawrenceburg, TN, Lamonte Dooley, Cornersville, TN; Tyler (Jessica) Dooley, Winchester; daughters, Devonya (Brent) King, Beersheba Springs, Stephanie Dooley, Winchester; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Elder Mark Thomas and Brother Clint Shrum officiating. Burial was in Orange Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, TN.

ANDELSON, BONNY JOHNSON, a native of Tracy City, passed away at her home in McMinnville on Thursday, October 30, 2014. She was the daughter of Barney William and Pearl Lillie Orange Johnson of Orange Hill. The widow of Dr. Robert Vernon Andelson of Los Angeles, California, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Johnson Saynes and Eula Johnson Partin; brother, Freddie William Johnson; nephew, Roger Lewis Wells, Jr. ; niece, Misty Reid Sweeton. Mrs. Andelson earned both bachelors and masters degrees from George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. She retired as an instructor of English from Alexander City State Junior College in Alexander City, Alabama. She and Dr. Andelson resided in Auburn, Alabama for more than 40 years, where he was a Professor of Philosophy at Auburn University. The couple shared lifelong love of world travel and has a host of close friends throughout the world. They were generous with their time and resources, providing full college scholarships for a large number of students. They were members of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Andelson is survived by two sisters, Johnnie Marie Johnson Geary and Dawn Johnson Brothers, both of Tracy City; a brother Franklyn Johnson, also of Tracy City; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services were held Monday, November 3, at Mt. Oak Primitive Baptist Church in Tracy City. Dr. Joe Nunley, Mrs. Andelson’s cousin, officiated. Interment was in the adjoin Orange Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include her nephews, Dr. Roger Cunningham, Roger Johnson, Jack Reynolds, and John Cordell; grand-nephew, Wesley Cunningham; and cousin, Byron D. Mayes. Arrangements were made by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, TN.

MORGAN, PATSY LOUISE
(April 24, 1947 - October 29, 2014)
Mrs. Patsy Louise Morgan age 67 of Tracy City, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, in Southern Tennessee Skilled Care in Sewanee.
She was born in Sewanee, a daughter of the late Andrew Bass Payne and Minnie Anderson Payne and was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Payne. Patsy was a very active member of Christ Church Episcopal and served on the Mission Council, she was a volunteer and board member of the Grundy County Food Bank. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Audrey Morgan; grandson, Colton Morgan, Monteagle; brothers, Jerry (Jan) Payne and John Payne, Tracy City; nieces and nephews, Lora Payne, Deanna (Junior) Stephens, Chris (Amy), Shane (Amanda), Susan Payne and Michelle Jordan; great-nieces, Madison, Megan and Taylor. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Christ Church Episcopal with The Reverend Dr. Linda Hutton officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5-9 P.M. at the funeral home. Foster & Lay Funeral Home of Tracy City is in Charge of arrangements.
