KING, ELMER CLINE, age 75, of Beersheba Springs, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. He was a member of the Bibleway Holiness Church. His last job was attending the Grundy County Convenience Center at Altamont. He was born at the foot of Beersheba Mountain on December 23, 1938 to Marshall and Iola Green King who preceded him in death along with his son, Jess Clinton King. He is survived by his wife, Edna Jean King; daughter, Norma (Jackie) Henry; sons, Marshall Leon and Eddie (Glema Ann) King; brothers, Paul (Florence), Glen and Howell (Sharon) King; sisters, Ruth Knight, Mae (Andrew) Eubanks, Rose (Ken) Bone Diesburg and Betty Killian; grandchildren, Christy Lynn Henry and Elizabeth Jean King; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Rab Ramsey and Wayne Norris officiating and burial followed in the Hunerwadel Cemetery.
FREDERICK, CECIL NORTON, age 85, of Tracy City, TN, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Sewanee, TN. He was born in Coalmont, a son of the late Isaac Jessie Frederick and Fronia Novella Sanders Frederick, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Pat, Isaac, and Austin Frederick; sister, Stella Novella Frederick Orange. Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Frederick; sons, Ronald (Debbie) Frederick of Indiana; Bobby Frederick of Indiana; Robert and Bryan Frederick of Tracy City; daughter, Geneva (Justin) Scissom of Monteagle; brothers, Dewey Frederick and Kenner Frederick of Manchester; sister, Carolyn Nunley of Tracy City; 8 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Elder Franklin Hill officiated. Burial was in Orange Hill Cemetery.

MCKNIGHT, LOIS ANN, age 99, of the Cumberland Heights Community passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at the Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer. She was a member of the Cumberland Heights Seventh-Day Adventist Church and a former member of the Clearwater, Florida S. D. A. Church. Nena’s main interest in life was her faith in God, caring and cooking for her family, and playing the piano. She was a Dorcas volunteer for many years. She was born in Strongstown, Pennsylvania on August 12, 1915 to Joseph and Bertha Patterson Ondrizek who preceded her in death along with her sister, Harriett; brothers, Roy, Kenneth, Walter and Herbert Ondrizek. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Sanford, Cumberland Heights; sons, James (Mary Jean) McKnight, Cumberland Heights and Donn (Debbie) McKnight, Douglasville, Georgia; brother, Clyde (Lettie) Ondrizek; sister-in-laws, Goldie and Nellie Ondrizek, Katherine McKnight; 10 grandchildren, Kim, David, Wayne, Dawn, Gina, Bonnie, Jamey, Tami, Donnie and Steven; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 1 late great grandchild. THOMAS, DANNY RAY, age 65, of Tracy City passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. He was born March 23, 1949, a son of the late Douglas Thomas, Sr. and Marie Dent Thomas. Danny had served as an alderman and as mayor of Tracy City. He was an active member of the Trailblazer Jeep Club. Survivors include his son, Darian Thomas of Tracy City; brother, Douglas Thomas, Jr. (Linda) of Tullahoma; aunts, Mrs. Betty (Ray) Savage of Sparta and Mrs. Rema Meeks of Whitwell; uncles, Jack Thomas of Goodlettesville, TN and J. V. Thomas of Tullahoma; niece, Laura Thomas of Murfreesboro; nephew, Russell Thomas (Mary Beth), niece and nephews, Betsy, Fletcher and Andrew Thomas of Nashville; his extended family includes, Logan Haynes, former stepson of Dunlap, TN. age 51 of Tracy City, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014, in Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. Paul was employed in industrial sales. He was born in Royal Oak, Michigan and was preceded in death by his father, Ralph R. Kania; maternal grandparents, Melvin and Evelyn Burnett.
Survivors include his children, Steven Paul Kania of White House, TN and Becky Kania of Nashville; mother, Bette Kania of Tracy City; sister, Lisa Kania of Tracy City; brother, Mike Kania of White House; nieces and nephew, Jordan Rice, Jessica White, Casey and Tyler Kania. A memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday in the chapel of Foster & Lay Funeral Home with Reverend Clayton Jones officiating. TIPTON, OSCAR, T., “BIG BOY”, age 79, of Tracy City, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Sewanee. He was a son of the late Oscar Tipton, Sr. and Lillie Belle Gates Tipton and was preceded in death by a son, Michael Geary Tipton; brothers, Arthur “Little Boy”, Tinsley and Hayse Tipton; sisters, Anna “Kitty” and Ruby. Big Boy was retired from Dupont in Chattanooga. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann “Sissy” Tipton; son, Jerry (Janie) Tipton; grandchildren, Deanna (Nick) Gipson and Keith Alton Tipton; great-grandchildren, Jaden Gipson and Brentlee Gipson.
