FINCH, MARGIE JOAN, age 60, of Gruetli-Laager, TN, passed away Sunday August 10, 2014. She was born in Nauvoo, Alabama on January 11, 1954 to Howard and Stella Andrews Wideman who preceded her in death along with her husband, Jimmy Dale Finch; son, Shawn Dale Finch; granddaughter, Chasity Lacha Sanders; brother, Kenneth Wideman.
She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Dawn Finch; granddaughters, Shelby Joan Finch and Destiny Faith Sanders; brothers, Dennis (Carol) and Kirby Dan (Ginger) Wideman; sisters, Frances Stockwell (Late Charles), Peggy (Carl) Finch, Mary White and Vicky Bivens; several nieces and nephews. BARRETT, LORENE, age 81, of Altamont, TN, passed away Monday August 11, 2014. She was born in Altamont on July 19, 1933 to Floyd and Ollie Faye Sanders Fitch who preceded her in death along with her brother, Douglas Fitch.
She is survived by her sons, Leonard, Hugh (Mary) and Johnny Barrett; daughters, Phyllis (Gary) Jenkins, Dresden, TN and Nancy Judkins, Altamont; brothers, Chester (Mae) Fitch, Altamont, Wilfred (Marie) Fitch, Cohutta, GA; sisters, Etheleen Hobbs, Altamont, Pauline Wellman, Morrison and Cathy Bailey, Centertown; companion, Jimmy Sweeton, Altamont; 2 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Clayton Jones officiating and burial followed in the Altamont Cemetery. Arrangements made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
Ms. Nancy Sue Miller age 79 of West Land, Michigan and a former resident of Haletown, Tennessee passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014, in Southern Tennessee Regional Health Services in Winchester. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Edward Cardwell and Laura May Reed Cardwell. She is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Mike) Evensen, Sewanee and Marcia “Doll” Miller, West Land, MI; grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Michael aqnd Ryan; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Rylie, Brooklynn, Michael, II. The Miller family will have a service at a later date. Cremation services were provided by Cumberland Funeral Home of Monteagle, TN.
MILNER, JOSEPH HARTWELL, SR., age 86, of Sewanee, TN, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Southern Tennessee Health Services at Sewanee. He was born in Flintville, Tennessee, a son of the late Oscar Allen and Ethel Blake Milner and was preceded in death by grandsons, Timothy and Matthew Milner; brother, Allen Milner. He was a well-known businessman and banker in Monteagle for many years. He was a U. S. Army Veteran, a member of Morton Memorial United Methodist Church, Summit Lodge#497 F. & A.M. and Al Menah Shrine.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Frost Milner; children, Joe Milner, Jr. (Rita), Anne (Jerry) Sitz, Steven (Debra) Milner, Joshua Boone (Beverly) Milner, John Clea (Teresa) Milner; grandchildren, Edward, Angela, April, Casey, Clea, Anna, Josh, Sarah, Rachel, Joe, III, and Boone.
A memorial service was held Sunday, July 27 in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Amanda Diamond officiating.
Burial of ashes followed in Eastern Star Cemetery.

HOLLON, CHARLES O., “BONES, ” JR., passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in Trevecca Health Care Center in Nashville. He was a native of Jackson, Kentucky and had recently moved to Monteagle. He was a retired truck drive and was a son of the late Charles O. Harlon Sr. and Minnie Mae Morris Hollon. Survivors include a son, Charles D. Hollon, Tracy City; daughters, Vera Ann Scott, Delphi, Ind. and Betty Jean Hollon, Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services were private. FITCH, DOUGLAS, 72, died Monday, July 28, 2014 at a Sewanee, Tennessee hospital. He was a US Army veteran and was born in Altamont on May 31, 1942 to Floyd and Ollie Fay Sanders Fitch who preceded him in death. Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, July 31 at the Altamont cemetery with Minister Wayne Norris officiating.

Jean Partin Brownell, age 85 of Pelham, passed away July 11, 2014 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was a talented and renowned artist and a very gifted spiritual advisor. Mrs. Brownell is preceded in death by her mother, Jewell Patterson Partin and her father, James Buford Partin; brother, Lannie Fred Partin; grandson, Daniel Shane Scott. She is survived by her sons, Eddie (Chris) Scott of Estill Springs and Freddie Scott of Pelham; daughter, Sharon (Frankie) Nunley also of Pelham; sisters, Maxine Wade and Arlene Bean, both of Pelham; 4 grandchildren, 7 great--grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family & friends. The funeral service will be conducted from the chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home at 2 P.M. Wednesday July 16, 2014. MEADOWS, WILLIAM “BILL, ” HENRY, 78, of Coalmont, TN, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at his home with his family at his side. He was retired from the Carrier Corporation and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 483 in Morrison. He was born in Tracy City, Tennessee on August 2, 1935 to Charlie and Cora Kilgore Meadows who preceded him in death along with his grandchildren, Dusty and Kacie Jones; sisters, Hester Champion and Virginia Scott; brother, Harly Kilgore.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Daphine “Possie” Meadows; daughters, Beverly (William) Jones and Darlene (Estel) Knight; son, Billy (Brenda) Meadows; brother, James Meadows; sisters, Maudie Trussell and Rosa Edwards; grandchildren, Lori (Jimmy) Dodson, Brian (Judy) Meadows and Chip (Heather) Jones; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; special four-wheelin and fishing friend, Johnny Wiggins.

MEEKS, JUDY ANN, age 59, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014, at Generations of Spencer. She was a daughter of the late James and Lena Scott Levan and was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Meeks; son, Christopher Meeks; sister, Helen Anderson; brothers, Leslie L., Ernest Eugene and James Levan, Jr. ; nephew, Jason Levan.
Survivors include her daughter, Amanda Meeks and her fiancé, Andy Nunley; grandson, David Allen Horton; sisters, Bonnie Meeks and Connie Meeks; brothers, Steven Levan, Gary Levan and Daniel Levan all of Tracy City; several nieces and nephews.

BREWER, MARK DWAIN, 61, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014. He was employed by the Grundy County Highway Department for 31 years as foreman. He was a member of the Sewanee Lodge #405 F&AM at Tracy City, OES #266 Tracy City Chapter and the Scottish Rite Bodies of Chattanooga. He was born in Chattanooga on December 22, 1952 to Ernest Grady and Edna Marie Crabtree Brewer who preceded him in death along with his son, Christopher Allen Brewer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Morrison Brewer; brothers, Kenneth and Terry Brewer; caring mother-in-law, Patsy Burnett; a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Masonic and Eastern Star services were held Friday, July 18. Sunset funeral services were held Saturday, July 19 in the funeral home chapel with Minister Danny Coffelt officiating. Burial was in Brown’s Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
MORRISON, ROBERT LEE, SR., 79, passed away at his home Wednesday, July 2, 2014. He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp and retired from Combustion Engineering in Chattanooga. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on November 17, 1934 to Lonnie and Ethel Turner Morrison who preceded him in death along with his brother, Sammy, Sonny and Jerry Morrison; sisters, Charlene Cobb, Eula Mae Gardner, Carol Cox and Lynn Morrison.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Smith Morrison; son, Robert L. (Kristen) Morrison Jr. of San Antonio, TX; daughters, Deborah Morrison, Chattanooga, Donna Morrison, Ringgold, GA and Diane Morrison, Tampa, FL; brother, Allen (Linda) Morrison, Gruetli-Laager; sister, Dolly Reed, Clinton, Iowa; several loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
