Perry Shelton Hatfield
(March 29, 1947 - February 13, 2014)
Mr. Perry Shelton Hatfield age 66 of Coalmont, Tennessee passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, in Alvin York V. A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro.
He was a native of Fentress County, TN a son of the late Curt and Ida Hatfield and was preceded in death by his sisters, Floy Hatfield, Hazel Lawson, Alva Jean Flowers; brothers, Jerry and Joe Hatfield; son, Bradley Geary; grandson, Charles Geary.
Perry was retired from the textile industry and was a Viet Nam, U. S. Army veteran and was a member of Black Horse 11th Armored Calvary, Troop L and a member of the V. F. W.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Emily Hatfield; sons, Barton Hatfield, Gainesville, FL, Perry Martin Hatfield, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Michael Hatfield, St. Louis, MO, James B. Hatfield, San Diego, CA; Randy Geary, Nashville, Ralph Geary, McMinnville and Kevin Geary of Coalmont; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 27, in the Foster & Lay Chapel with Reverend Mike Rigsby officiating. Military honors will be provided by Sequatchie Valley Veteran's Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fisher House located at the campus of the Alvin C. York V. A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. The Fisher House offer shelter and support during a medical crisis for members of the Armed Forces, retirees, veterans and their families. The address is: Fisher House, P. O. Box 774, Brentwood, TN 37024-0774. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the memorial service.

Barney Argo
(June 26, 1933 - February 13, 2014)
Mr. Dewey Barney Argo age 80 of Monteagle passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at his home. He was a retired machinist and had worked at TVA. Barney was a U. S. Army veteran and member of the V. F. W.
He was born in the Freemont community near Coalmont on June 26, 1933, a son of the late Dewey Doston Argo and Sally Ann Nunley Argo and was preceded in death by a sister, Bunia Lee McDaniel.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie Argo, Monteagle; children, Dean Argo, Monteagle, Pam Terrill, Monteagle, Greg Argo, Williamsburg, KY, Wade Argo, Pine Knott, KY; 5 grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Jenna, Zachary and Jacob; 1 great-grandchild, Avery; sister, Adeline Kaldaris, Mentor, Ohio; brother, Billy Argo, Decherd, TN.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Ralph Shrum officiating. Burial will be in Coalmont cemetery with full military honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Sunday 5-10 P.M. at the funeral home.

John W. Hankins
(October 1, 1926 - February 15, 2014)
Mr. John W. Hankins age 87 of Decherd, Tennessee and a long time resident of Sewanee passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma. He was retired from American General Life Insurance Company and was a WW II U. S. Army veteran.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy last year. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Winchester.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Galon) Sherrill, Decherd, Jan Lappin; grandchildren, Beth Burton, Allison (Jason) Fraker, Matt Lappin, Clay Sherrill, and Becca Yates; great-grandchildren, Christopher Harper, Aleigh Sherrill, Cullie Anne Fraker, Aydan Yates, Reagan Sherrill, Ava Rose Yates; great-great-granddaughter, Zoey Harper.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Michael Clark officiating. Burial will be in Eastern Star cemetery with full military honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Veteran’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Winchester and Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.

Gruetli-Laager - Mr. Ray Jackson Fults, 74, departed this life at his home Friday February 14, 2014. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on June 19, 1939 to Lawrence and Emma McHone Fults who preceded him in death along with his brothers, William James, Lanny and Billy Gene Fults; sister, Patsy Stringer.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Fults; sons, Micheal (Tammy) Fults and Jacky Ray (Cristie) Fults, all of Gruetli-Laager, TN; daughters, Susan Showalter, Winchester, KY, Teresa Sullivan, Gruetli-Laager, Tammy Miller, Tracy City; step-daughter, Leann (Paul) Brown, Gruetli-Laager; sisters, Rebecca Bradford and Edie Pursley of Ohio; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Coalmont - Mr. Claudie Mott, 79, departed this life, February 10, 2014 at his home. He was retired from the State of Tennessee and attended Coalmont United Methodist Church. He was born in Coalmont on December 11, 1934 to Floyd and Hazel Lockhart Mott who preceded him in death along with his son, Wicky Mott; brothers, J. R. "Rooney and Tommy "Ledger" Mott.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (Bill) Smith, Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren, Jason (Rhonda) Meeks, Peyton and Asha Yokley, Natasha Prince, Cory Mott and April Payne; 9 great grandchildren.

WARD, OSCAR LEE, JR., 71, departed this life at the home of his niece in Cagle, Tennessee, Wednesday, February 5, 2014. He was a retired truck driver and US Army veteran and was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Lee Ward Sr. and Gertrude Ward Mitchell; brother, Clay Ward; sisters, Jeanetta Couch, Dorothy Ruehling, Frances Morgan and Pauline Rogers. He is survived by his niece and caregivers, Delia and Bobby Sherman and nephew Travis; daughter, Christina Baltze of Nebraska; sisters, Opal Brown and Ida Mae Pickett; 5 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. VENTURA, ROSE ANN, age 58, of Tracy City, TN, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Coffee County and was a U. S. Navy veteran. She was preceded in death by her parents, father W. J. Livingston who was a World War II veteran and her mother Ina Muncey Livingston. Survivors include her children, Amanda (Chad) Layne of Monteagle; James (Demanda) Gookin of Union City, TN; sister, Barbara Farrar of Tullahoma; grandchildren, Phillip, Shianne and Corbin. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 8 in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Larry Layne officiating. She was laid to rest in Chattanooga National Cemetery. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on July 28, 1969 and was preceded in death by her father, Robert Leo Linkous; brother, Jimmy Linkous. BRADEN, HESTER MAE BREWER, 75, departed this life Friday, February 7, 2014 after a courageous battle with kidney disease. She was a member of the Palmer and Altamont Church of Christ and a beautiful person to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Inez Givens James and Mitchell Meeks; husband, Bernice “Bones” Brewer. She is survived by her many loving cousins and friends including Charlotte (Gary) Haynes, Melba (Gerald) Smith, Charles Ronnie (Rosalyn) and Tim Knight; and uncle, Philip Fults. Funeral services were held Sunday, February 9 in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Philip Fults and Joe Gray officiating. Burial was in Fall Creek Cemetery.
