Services were held November 20 at Shelton Funeral Home with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Burress, the wife of Henry Burress, also leaves two daughters, Angela Dailey of Lavinia and June Yarbrough of Stanton; two sons, Charlie Burress of Trenton and Kenneth Burress of Waynesboro; a sister, Annie Law of Mt. Herman, LA, 12 grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oliver’s Chapel Presbyterian Church in Idlewild with burial in the church cemetery. Lawrence - Sorensen Funeral Home had charge. He was a World War II Army veteran who received the Purple Heart. He leaves a son, Rudy M. Landers of Jackson; a stepson, Bobby Gene Flippin of Lavinia, two grandchildren and four great - grandchildren.

MILAN - Ray F. Gilbert, 64, retired security guard for A.O. Smith Corp., died Saturday at Milan General Hospital after a heart attack. Services were November 20 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. He was a member of Main Street Church of Christ and a Vietnam War Army Veteran. Mr. Gilbert, the husband of Brenda Frazier Gilbert, also leaves two sons, Kenneth R. Gilbert of Milan and Scotty L. Gilbert of Sharon; a sister, Zeelan Oliver of Milan; five brothers, John D. Gilbert of Dickson, Larry Gilbert of Baltimore, Edward Gilbert of Fairview, Tommy Gilbert of Milan and Robbie Gilbert of Honolulu, and four grandchildren.
