Dorothy Gayle Flanary Ensminger, age 83 of Nashville, TN, passed away June 21, 2007. She was born February 26, 1924, daughter of the late Thomas Neale Flanary and Nellie Cox Flanary. A loyal and devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend, Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Joseph “Chuck” Ensminger; brother Paul Neale Flanary; sisters Mary Thomas Flanary, Elizabeth Unland Henshaw, Jane Flanary Carroll; and granddaughter Bailey Rae Ensminger. A funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am, Monday, June 25, 2007 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 535 Sneed Road, Franklin, TN, with Father James Mallett officiating, followed by inurnment at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on McCrory Lane. James Alton Young, 82, Nashville Tennessee, Passed away at 3:40 AM Saturday, June 30, 2007. He was a retiree of GENESCO, Inc. where he was employed for over 30 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was also a member of Christ Church Pentecostal on Old Hickory Boulevard where he served as the Property Manager. Survivors include his loving wife, Amanda Jane; daughter, Ann Young Forbes of Williamson County; three sons, Donald Ray Young of Nashville, David Allen Young of Williamson County, Joseph Hardwick Young of Norcross, Georgia; three sisters, Ruby Evelyn Hughes of Nashville, Geraldine Robinson of Sparta, and Eunice Clickner of Nashville; one brother, Lemmie Earl Young of Cleveland, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents Anthony McKinley Young and Amanda Lee Driver Young of Sparta Tennessee; daughter Carol Denise Young; brothers Lewis Edward Young, Elzie Clayton Young, and sisters Nellie Viola Young, and Naomi Ruth Bowlin. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday July 3rd at Christ Church Pentecostal, 13354 Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville Tennessee. The Reverends Lawson H. Hardwick and Dan Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Harpeth Hills Cemetery immediately following the ceremony. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday July 2nd at Christ Church Pentecostal. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to either the American Heart Association, or the Leukemia Research Foundation.

Donald L. Parker, age 69 of Cross Plains, TN, formerly of Hendersonville, TN departed this life on September 7th, 2007. Mr. Parker was born to Thurman C. Parker and Ellen Grace (Duncan) Parker, on March 18, 1938 in Manchester, TN. Mr. Parker is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Lou  Jones Parker; his daughter, Patricia Gail (David) Dean of Laurel, MD; his son, Dr. Keith Randall (Pamela) Parker of Franklin, TN; his brother, Herschel (Peggy) Parker of Pulaski, TN; his sisters, Yvonne Sanders and Patricia Suchy of Smyrna, TN; his grandchildren, Nichole Dean of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Travis Dean of Buckingham, PA and Christopher D. Underwood and family of Paris, TN. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and various other family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Parker of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Parker received his degree in Accounting from Falls Business College. He started his career at H.G. Hills and retired from Dupont in 2000. Since his retirement, he traveled extensively and was very active in charity organizations. He was an active member and Treasurer of Cross Plains Church of Christ. An avid gardener, he enjoyed working outdoors. He was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother and husband. He and his wife would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in February of 2008. He was a kind and giving individual who will leave behind many friends. Funeral services will conducted 11:00 AM, Monday, September 10, 2007 from the Hendersonville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation with the Parker family will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Sunday, September 9, 2007 at the Hendersonville Funeral Home.
