Mr. Ward Nelms

Mr. Ward Nelms, age 85 of Cornersville, died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at his home. Mr. Nelms was a native of Marshall Co., Tennessee and son of the late Avon and Ocia Clift Nelms. He was Retired from Inter City Products and member of Church St. Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Florence Boatright Nelms of Cornersville, three daughters, Barbara Cantrell of Deland, Florida, Nancy Thompson of Pulaski, Tennessee and Kay Glenn of Orlando, Florida, one son, Ted Nelms of Cornersville, Tennessee, one sister, Ruth Scott of Cleburne, Texas, one brother, Ben Nelms of Gainesville, Florida, eight grandchildren, Kent Cantrell, Jennifer Cantrell, Damon Thompson, Bethany Brashears, Maria Glenn, Candace Glenn, Steven Nelms and Sara Nelms and two great grandchildren, Reece Cantrell and Avon Brashears. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Nelms and sister, Murl Nelms Short. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial in New Hope Cemetery at Ostella. The family will be at Cornersville Funeral Home Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday until the funeral hour for visitation. Cornersville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. James Walter Hickerson
November 3, 2003
Mr. James Walter Hickerson, age 80 of Lewisburg, died Monday, November 3, 2003 in Maury Regional Hospital. Mr. Hickerson was a native of Giles Co., TN and son of the late Oscar and Agnes Doggett Hickerson. He was an army veteran of WW II and retired supervisor with Heil-Quaker Corp. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Gillespie Hickerson of Lewisburg, two sons, Ronnie Hickerson of S. Haven, Mississippi and Terry Hickerson of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, daughter, Vickie Mitchell of Crestwood, Kentucky, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Hickerson, brother, William Hickerson and sister, Frances Haislip. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home Tuesday after 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Elizabeth Wright

Mrs. Elizabeth Wright, age 79 of Lewisburg, died Monday in Life Care Center in Columbia, TN. Mrs. Wright was a native of Giles Co., TN and daughter of the late William and Tennie Pearl Fralix Russell. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ. She is survived by five sons, Billy Wright, Jerry Wright and Emmett Wright all three of Lynnville, TN, James Wright of Belfast, TN and William David Wright of Lewisburg, TN, three daughters, Alice Pearl Thomas and Ruth Ann Henson both of Lewisburg, and Betty June Stokes of Unionville, TN, two brothers, James Russell of Chapel Hill, TN and Maylon Russell of Columbia, TN, one sister, Lena Duncan of Pulaski, TN, seventeen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial in New Zion Cemetery in Giles Co., TN. The family will be at Cornersville Funeral Home Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. and Wednesday until the funeral hour for visitation. Cornersville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Adolf Conrad Hense, Jr.
November 1, 2003
Mr. Adolf Conrad Hense, Jr., age 41 of Lewisburg, died Saturday, November 1, 2003 in a motorcycle accident. Mr. Hense was a native of Flint, Michigan and the son of Adolf Conrad, Sr. and Jeannette Pilon Hense of Bayonett, Florida. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1980 until 1983 and was presently employed by the Saturn Corporation. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Krystal Hense and one son, Adolf Conrad Hense, III both of Lewisburg, Paternal Grandmother, Alice Hense of Grand Blanc, Michigan, two brothers, Kurt Hense and Karl Allen Hense, both of Flint, Michigan and one sister, Kirsten Ann Dipzinski, of Flint, Michigan. The family will be at London Funeral Home Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for visitation. Mr. Hense's body will be conveyed to Swartz Funeral Home with burial in Flint Memorial Cemetery in Flint, Michigan. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Richard Alan Goldsmith
October 31, 2003
Richard Alan Goldsmith, age 59 of Lewisburg, died Friday, October 29, 2003 at his home. Mr. Goldsmith was born February 2, 1944 in Emporia, Kansas to Richard Albert Goldsmith of Green Valley, Arizona and the late Marjorie Briggs Goldsmith. He served as captain in the U.S. Air Force for thirteen years. He worked many years as a computer programmer/analyst for Peabody Holding Company in St. Louis, MO and most recently, in the same capacity for Atlantic Search Group and Pfizer Chemical. Presently, he was teaching at Columbia State College. He was a member and instructor at Marshall County Computer Club, and an active member of Church Street Church of Christ. Mr. Goldsmith held several college degrees, B.A., Wichita State University, Wichita, KS, B.S., in meteorology, Texas A&M, College Station, TX, and a B.S., in computer science, Southern Illinois University, Granite City, IL. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Patricia Jane Embry Goldsmith of Lewisburg, daughter, Dr. Denise (Michael) Werner, also of Lewisburg, son, Brian (Vicki) Goldsmith of Stanford, California, step-mother, Phyllis Goldsmith of Green Valley, Arizona, Brother, Jim Goldsmith of Houston, Texas, sister, JoAnne (Ron) Miller of Green Valley, Arizona, three grandchildren, Nicholas and Allison Werner of Lewisburg, and Emma Goldsmith of Stanford, California and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home. The family will be at London Funeral Home Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour for visitation. Mr. Goldsmith's body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Church St. Church of Christ Mission Fund 305 W. Church St. Lewisburg, TN 37091.

Mr. James Mack Braden, age 82 of Lewisburg, died Wednesday evening in Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. Mr. Braden was a native of Marshall Co., TN and son of the late Samuel Mack and Liddie Reynolds Braden. He was retired from Genesco, Inc. and was a member of Church St. Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Lorene Lovett Braden of Lewisburg, two daughters, Delores (Cecil) Morris of Murfreesboro, TN and Gloria (Daniel) Smith of Nolensville, TN, brother, Ernest Braden of Lewisburg and three grandchildren, Tara, Travis and Tricia Morris. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home Friday after 3:00 p.m. and Saturday until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Joel Edward (Nig) Moore

Mr. Joel Edward (Nig) Moore, age 71 of the Verona Community, died Monday evening in Marshall Medical Center. Mr. Moore was a native of Maury Co., TN and son of the late Bob L. and Ida Harris Moore. He was retired from Dairyman, Inc. and presently was employed by Wal-Mart. He was a member of Antioch Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mae Ruth Petty Moore of the Verona Community, two daughters, Bambi Moore England of Columbia, TN and Candy Moore of the Verona Community, step-daughter, Judy Smith of Shelbyville, TN, step-son, Doug Elmore of Murfreesboro, TN, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and three step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Berea Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Loyd Coffey

Mr. Loyd Coffey, age 77 of Liberty Valley Community, died Sunday evening in Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL. Mr. Coffey was a native of Marshall Co., TN and son of the late William Claud, Sr. and Myrtle Bills Coffey. He was a farmer and horse breeder, WW II army veteran, serving in Germany, and member of the Belfast Union Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Berry Davis Coffey, Sr. on October 6, 2003 and is survived by one brother, Claude Coffey, Jr. and one sister, Marie Wilmesherr of Lexington, South Carolina. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Belfast Union Presbyterian Church. Mr. Coffey's body will lie in state at the church from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral hour for visitation with the family. Burial will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Round Hill Cemetery at Belfast, TN. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. John Lewis Yoes

Mr. John Lewis Yoes, age 65 of the Wheel Community, died Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at his home. Mr. Yoes was a native of Bedford Co., TN and son of the late John Allison and Clara Beasley Yoes. He was a cattleman and farmer. He is survived by his wife, Dona Cozart Yoes of the Wheel Community, daughter, Vicki Landers of Shelbyville, TN, son, Jeff Yoes, also of Shelbyville, TN, four step-daughters, Nancy Morton, Patsy Griffy, Carol Liggett and Sandra Little all of Lewisburg, TN, two step-sons, Danny Little and Timmy Little, both of Lewisburg, two sisters, Marie Lane of Shelbyville, TN and Debbie  Taylor of Pulaski, TN, brother, Frank Yoes of Shelbyville, five grandchildren and fourteen step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Yoes and step-daughter, Tammy Little. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Wheel Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home Friday after 4:00 p.m. and Saturday until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mark Edward Beard

Mr. Mark Edward Beard, age 44 of Lewisburg, died Saturday, October 18, 2003 at his home. Mr. Beard was a native of Marshall Co., TN and the son of Jimmy Edward Beard of Madison, AL and Sue Tomlin Beard of Lewisburg. He was self-employed as a painter. In additon to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Mark Edward Beard, II of Whiteville, Al and Brad Beard of Belfast, TN, two brothers, Tim Beard of Cornersville, TN and Anthony (Red Man) Beard of Lewisburg, Step-Mother, Jessie Beard of Madison, AL, Paternal Grandmother, Louise Beard of Petersburg, TN and three nieces. Funeral services will be conducted by James Tomlin and Henry Horton Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in New Hope Cemetery at Talley Station. The family will at London Funeral Home Monday after 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday until the funeral hour for visitation. Serving as pallbearers, Michey King, Tony Davenport, Keith Bridges, Bobby Holman, Eddie Roberts, and Steve Hammond The former members of the Critters Softball Team will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. Mary Catherine Burrahm

Mrs. Mary Catherine Burrahm, age 86 of Lewisburg, died Friday evening in Vanderbilt Medical Center. Mrs. Burrahm was a native of Marshall Co., TN, a homemaker and member of the Farmington Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Avery Burrahm in 1993 and son, James Burrahm in 2002. She is survived by one daughter, Shelby Jean Stevens of Lewisburg, sister, Betty Elwell of Hartsville, TN, brother, Bill  Woods of Hayes, Kansas, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Sunset Park. The family will be at London Funeral Home Sunday after 4:00 p.m. and Monday until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lois Ann Williams

Mrs. Lois Ann Williams, age 89 of Fayetteville, TN, died Friday, October 17, 2003 in Lincoln Skill Care Center. Mrs. Williams was a native of Giles Co., TN and daughter of the late William Emmett and Nolia Estelle Pearson Gaines. She was a homemaker and member of Lewisburg First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Williams in 1992. She is survived by two daughters, Lila W. Pyles of Fayetteville, TN and Lola A. Harvey of Ringwood, New Jersey, sister, Martha Ruth Bledsoe of Pulaski, TN, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 19, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
