Mr. J. C. Hayes, age 74 of Lewisburg, died Tuesday morning in Marshall Medical Center. Mr. Hayes was a native of Scottsboro, Alabama and son of the late Ottis and Pearl Swafford Hayes. He is retired from Abeco Dies Casting. He is survived by one son William Ottis Hayes of Shelbyville, TN, two daughters Patsy Thomas and Mary King both of Lewisburg, three brothers of Scottsboro, AL, two sisters of Sand Mountain, AL, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 pm from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Lone Oak Cemtery. The family will be at London Funeral Home Wednesday after 2:00 pm and Thursday until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Elizabeth (Lib) Hunter Fitzgerald

Mrs. Elizabeth (Lib) Hunter Fitzgerald, 81, of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, in Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville. Mrs. Fitzgerald was a native of Giles County and daughter of the late Allen  Woods and Kitty Mae Smithson Hunter. She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Fitzgerald and survived by a daughter, Geri Lambert, of Greenville, North Carolina and two grandchildren, Beth Lambert, Eugene, Oregon and Hays Lambert, of Wilmington, North Carolina; one brother, Collier Hunter, of Lewisburg; two sisters, Evelyn Lowe, of Lewisburg and Elise Pollock, of Pulaski. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Leland Carden officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg. The family will be at London Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 4, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. for visitation. Pallbearers will be Terry Lowe, Rickie Hunter, John Fitzgerald, Billy Lawrence and Thomas Calvin Fitzgerald.

James Floyd (Jim) Brown

James Floyd (Jim) Brown, age 77 of Lewisburg, died Saturday evening in Vanderbilt Hospital. Mr. Brown was a native of Lincoln Co, TN and son of the late Hardy Earl and Sally D. Haizlet Brown. He was retired from the Eaton Corp. He was a Korean War Veteran and member of Westvue Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie June Spivey Brown of Lewisburg, daughter Kim Brown Wassermann and son-in-law John Wassermann of Lewisburg, son Kerry Floyd Brown and daughter-in-law Denise Brown of Lewisburg, brother Forrest Brown of Lewisburg, four grandchildren Ryan Derryberry, Lauren Wassermann, William Hunter Brown and Peyton Floyd Brown. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 pm from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home Monday after 2:00 pm and Tuesday until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Shannon Hope Garrett

Shannon Hope Garrett, age 25, of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, after an automobile accident. Shannon was a native of Giles County and daughter of Brent Erskin Garrett, of Lewisburg, and Kathie Holt Bowles, of Pulaski, who survive. She was a student at Columbia State Community College and a member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she is survived by paternal grandmother Werdna Garrett, of Lewisburg; maternal grandmother Frances Holt, of Pulaski; a sister, Angela Garrett Beard, of Cornersville, and a brother, David Clayton Garrett, of Pulaski. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Aug. 23, from the chapel of London Funeral Home with Rocky Cunningham and Charles Williamson officiating. Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family was at London Funeral Home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour for visitation. Pallbearers were John Baxter, Chris Huber, Tim Lunn, Michael Garrett, Kenny Garrett and Wayne Garrett.

Mrs. Lillian Little

Mrs. Lillian Little, 94, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 13, in NHC (Merihil Healthcare. Mrs. Little was a native of Lawrenceburg and daughter of the late John Wesley and Lula Ann Burden Lovett. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God. She is survived by one son, Wayne Mardis, of Paris, France; one brother, Earl Lovett, of Petersburg; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Aug 15, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with Bill Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home Thursday, Aug. 14, after 4 p.m. and Friday until the funeral hour for visitation.

Mrs. Mildred Louise Tate
August 7, 2003
Mrs. Mildred Louise Tate, 83, of Lewisburg, died Thursday evening, Aug. 7, in NHC (Merihil) Healthcare. Mrs. Tate was a native of Giles County and daughter of the late Otis Lee Rutledge and Mecie Smith Rutledge. She was retired from Cosmolab and was a member of Church Street Church of Christ. Her husband, J. R. Tate, preceded her in death. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Sandy Tate, of Lewisburg; two brothers, Delano and Roosevelt Rutledge, of Nashville; two sisters, Frances Christmas and Ruth Thompson, of Lewisburg, and two grandchildren, Karen Tate Garrett and Richard Tate, both of Lewisburg and four great-grandchildren. Charles Williamson conducted funeral services Sunday, Aug 10, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Tate, Austin Tate, Logan Tate, Carl Glasscock, Charlie Foster, Freddie Rutledge, Johnny Boyett, Pat Garrett and Howard Christmas.

Ted Roden

Ted Roden, 69, died Tuesday evening at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was a native of the Delina Community and the son of the late Charles Haskell Roden and Carlene Stone Roden, who survives. Mr. Roden was a farmer and a member of the Delina Church of Christ. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Annie Ruth Thomason Roden, of Delina; two sons, Tommy Lynn Roden and Charles Ronald Roden, all of Delina, and three grandchildren. Services were conducted on Thursday, July 24, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home, in Cornersville, with burial in the Medium Cemetery. Visitation began at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, and until the funeral hour on Thursday.

Miss Christine Davis

Miss Christine Davis, 79, of Lewisburg, died Friday, July 18, in Maury Regional Hospital. She was a native of Giles County and the daughter of the late John Erwin and Annie Prosser Davis. She was a long time employee of Crigger's Cleaners, later retired from Cumberland Shoe Company and was a member of Westview Church of Christ. She is survived by one sister, Louise Weatherman Wentzel, of Lewisburg and one brother, Dean Davis, of Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, July 20, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Jason Hart officiating. Burial followed in Beechwood Cemetery. The family was at the funeral home for visitation after 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, and until the funeral hour on Sunday. Pallbearers were Stan Wentzel, David Wentzel, Richie Wentzel, Tom Ledford, Jim Ledford and Barry Holbert.

Mrs. Nona Hill Gold

Mrs. Nona Hill Gold, 65, died Thursday, July 10, at her home in Lewisburg.
Mrs. Hill was born in Mantachie, Mississippi, on July 12, 1938 to the late Marvin and LaMoyse McMillian Duvall. She was a nurse supervisor at Marshall Medical Center, owner of Joy Laundry and Cleaners, was a retired educator at Spot Lowe Vocational Center, where she taught health occupations, and retired Commissioner for the Seventh District. She was a registered dietician in Tunica, Mississippi, and had received the ?Rotary?s Expert in Their Field? award for her contributions to health services. She was also very active in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and traveled as a missionary to six continents.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Lynn Hill and her former husband, Murray E. Hill. She is survived by her husband, Bill Gold, of Lewisburg; one son, Richard Duvall Hill and his wife, Lisa, of Petersburg; two step-sons, Cheney Gold and William Walter Gold, both of Lewisburg; three step-daughters, Kay Black and Vanessa Rush, both of Lewisburg and Rachel Mehlenbacher, of Tampa, Florida; seven sisters, two brothers, three grandchildren and six step-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 14, at 10 a.m. from the First Assembly of God Church with Don McCullough and James Hickey officiating. Burial followed in Temple Cemetery in the Farmington Community.
The family was at London Funeral Home on Sunday, July 13, after 2 p.m. and on Monday the body laid-in-state at the First Assembly of God Church from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to a ministry of choice.
Pallbearers were Chandler Anderson, Steve Mead, Larry Cass, Jeffery McKay, Gilbert Hunter and George Bradley. Honorary pallbearers were all former MCHS students, all former LPN students, Marshall Medical Center nurses, Marshall Medical Center doctors, Marshall Medical Center employees, First Assembly of God Church members, East Commerce Baptist Church members, Spot Lowe Technology teachers, Marshall County Retired Teachers and Pilot Club of Lewisburg members.quested that donations be made to a ministry of choice.

Mrs. Christine E. Hudson, 83, of Port Charlotte, Florida, died on Thursday, July 10. Mrs. Hudson was a native of Gainesville, Florida, and the daughter of the late Silas and Addie Hudson. She is survived by her husband, James Edward Hudson of Port Charlotte, Florida; one daughter, Dolly Ann Reed, of Punta Gorda, Florida; two sons, Donald C. Hudson, of Cornersville and Dudley P. Mrs. Mildred Ruth Chilton Rodgers, 86, of Lewisburg, died Thursday evening, July 10, in NHC Oakwood. Mrs. Rogers was a native of Marshall County and the daughter of the late  Taylor and Minnie Keeler Chilton. She was a homemaker and member of East Commerce Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Helen Hardison, Martha Rodgers and Katy Luna, all of Lewisburg; two sons, William Rodgers, of Lynnville and Paul Rodgers, of Chapel Hill; two sisters, Evelyn Willoughby and Louise Isley, both of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchilren and six step-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 12, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with James Hickey officiating. Burial followed in Whorely Cemetery. The family was at the funeral home for visitation on Friday, July 11, and until the funeral hour on Saturday. Pallbearers were Phillip Rodgers, Chris Rodgers, David Rodgers, Brent Rodgers, Wesley Carrol and Mike Oathout.
