Mrs. Beth Collier
July 5, 2003
Mrs. Beth Collier, 80, died Saturday evening, July 5, in NHC Merihil. She was a native of the Bryant Station Community and the daughter of the late Joe P. Reavis and the late Lizzie Mai Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Collier. She is survived by one sister, Syble Crabtree of Franklin and a brother, J. Pat Reavis of Knoxville. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 8, at 4 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Everett Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Bryant Cemetery. The family will visit on Tuesday, July 8, from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour.

David Ewing Jean, Sr.
July 5, 2003
David Ewing Jean, Sr., 87, died Saturday night, July 5, at NHC Oakwood. He was a native of Marshall County and the son of the late Arthur Glenn and Bertha Ewing Jean. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from the State of Tennessee, where he served as director of purchasing in the division of general services, also served as assistant commissioner. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Gabard Jean, of Lewisburg, a daughter, Nell Mitchell, of Mesa, Arizona; one son, David Ewing jean, Jr., of College Grove; two sisters, Ruth Welch, of Franklin and Edna Minturn, of Lewisburg; one brother, Arthur Glenn Jean, Jr., of Boulder, Colorado and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 9, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Rev. Leland Carden officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday and until the funeral hour on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Jack Welch, Glenn Welch, Jimmy Jean, Joseph Gabard, Ray Farley and Bob Loyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Fellowship Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church.

Miss Teresa Marie Jones
July 4, 2003
Miss Teresa Marie Jones, 24, died Friday, July 4, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Richard  Jones and Janet Clark Sweatt, of Lewisburg, who survives. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Erica Evans, Shawna  Jones and Gabrielle Jones; a son, Jermaine Jones; a step-daughter, Courtney Evans, all of Lewisburg; two sisters, Tonya Primm, of Lewisburg and Tracey Grigsby, of Dickson; one brother, Thomas M. Jones, of Lewisburg and a step-father, Arthurnal Sweatt of Nashville. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 7, at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Fitzgerald Bailey and William Wortham officiating. Burial followed in Cothran Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County. The family was at London Funeral Home on Monday, July 7, from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour for visitation. Pallbearers were Ernest Lewis, Rodney Collier, William Newsom, Terry Adams, Tommy Yates and Chris Grisby.

Wayne Lowe
June 21, 2003
Wayne Lowe, age 67, died Saturday in Maury Regional Hospital. He was a native of Marshall County and the son of the late Sema and Bernice Davis Lowe. He was retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He is survived by his wife, Gladys King Lowe, of Cornersville; four sons, John Earl Lowe, Marty Lowe and Scott Lowe, all of Cornersville and Eric Harris, of Lewisburg; three sisters, Grace Taylor, of California, Dean Lowe and Nancy Lowe, both of Ostella and one brother, William E. Lowe of Ostella; four grandchildren, Kimberly Lowe, Amanda Lowe, John Ryan Lowe and Brandon Lowe; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother, Loyd Lowe. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial in Short Cemetery. Bill Richardson officiated. Pallbearers were Bob Cathey, Phillip Garrett, Richard Woodard, Eddie Taylor, Russell Manning and Shanon Wright.

Mrs. Mary McLean

Mrs. Mary McLean, age 100, died Saturday, June 14, in NHC Oakwood Health Care. Mrs. McLean was a native of Marshall County, the daughter of William and Dona Callahan McCrory, the widow of the late Douglas McLean and a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Gene McLean of Waterford, Michigan; a daughter, Nell Weaver of Friday Harber, Washington; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and twelve step-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 18, at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Rush Severance officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home in Lewisburg for visitation on Tuesday, June 17, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bob McCullough, Mike Deniham, Kenneth McLean, Bobby McLean, J. Wes Green and Bill Maynard.

Mrs. Nina Kay MacDermid
June 13, 2003
Mrs. Nina Kay MacDermid, age 49, died Friday, June 13, at her home in the Lynnville Community. She was a native of Marshall County and the daughter of Clyde Jack and Patsy Wheatley Liggett and a member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Don MacDermid of Lynnville, her father and mother, Clyde Jack and Patsy Liggett of Lewisburg; a step-son, Michael MacDermid of Georgia; a step-daughter, Anita Dent of Tampa, Florida; a brother, Glenn Liggett; a sister, Nancy Taylor; a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ruby Morton, all of Lewisburg, and one step-granddaughter. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, June 17, at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Claude McMillion officiating. Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family was at London Funeral Home for visitation after 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16. Pallbearers were Mike MacDermid, David Liggett, John MacDermid, Mark Baker, Tom Goff and Brian Hobbs.

Alfred "Deacon" Childers

Alfred "Deacon" Childers, age 78, of Lewisburg, died Thursday night, June 12, at NHC Merihil. Mr. Childers was a native of Giles County and the son of the late William Thomas and Alice Elizabeth Compton Childers, retired from ICP and a member of Church Street Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Sue Chunn Childers of Lewisburg, one daughter, Kim Anderson of Lewisburg; one son, Keith Childers of Cornersville; one sister, Betty Cothan of Waverly; one brother, Bobby Childers of Shelbyville; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, June 14, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Charles Williamson officiating. Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg. The family was at the funeral home for visitation after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 13, and until the funeral hour on Saturday, June 14. Pallbearers were Wayne Jean, Mark Mangrum, Tim Chunn, Barry Childers, Billy Chunn and John Bradley.

Bob Street

Bob Street, age 61, of Lewisburg, died Tuesday at his home. Mr. Street was a native of Marshall County and the son of the late Robert L. Street and Bennie Arnold Street, who survives. He was a truck driver for ConWay Southern and a veteran of the Vietnam War. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Annette Coats Street of Lewisburg; one daughter, Sherry Street of Texas; one son, Bobby Street of Georgia; one step-daughter, Lynette Jett of Lewisburg; one step-son, T. J. Jett of Lewisburg; two brothers, Roger Street of Lewisburg and Jim Street of Michigan; one sister, Kay Martinez of Michigan; one grandson and one step-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 12, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Mary Ann Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, and until the funeral hour on Thursday.

Mrs. Nancy Irene Mathews

Mrs. Nancy Irene Mathews, age 74, of Lewisburg, died Monday, June 2, at her home. Mrs. Mathews was a native of Lincoln County and daughter of the late Gladyes and Charlotte Metcalf Edde. She was the widow of John E. Mathews, who died in 1989, a homemaker, mother and member of the Farmington Church of Christ. She is survived by one son, Sherman Norwood of Manchester; three daughters, Ann Norwood, Tonya Stinnett and Angie Wickberg, all of Lewisburg; two sisters, Ruth Harrell and Mary Hollingsworth, both of Lewisburg; three brothers, Roy Edde of Lewisburg, Robert Edde and William Edde, both of Pulaski; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 4, at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Benny Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 3, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday after 11:00 a.m. for visitation.

Miss Lillian Troyer
June 1, 2003
Miss Lillian Troyer, age 58 of Cornersville, died Sunday, June 1, following an auto accident. Miss Troyer was a native of Hartville, Ohio and daughter of the late Emanuel and Alta Sommers Troyer. She was a homemaker and member of the Marshall County Mennonite Brotherhood Church. She is survived by five sisters, Kathryn Garber of Mt. Perry, Ohio, Clara Martin of Switz City, Indiana, Mary Schrock of Eldorado Springs, Missouri, Sylvia Troyer and Betty Yoder, both of Somerset, Ohio; three brothers, Vernon Troyer of Moulton, Iowa, Menno Troyer of Big Fork, Montana and Nelson Troyer of Olive Hill. Funeral services will be conducted by Seth Sommers Wednesday, June 4, at 9:30 a.m. from the Marshall County Mennonite Brotherhood Church. Services will be held Thursday, June 5, at 2:00 p.m. in Walnut Grove Amish Mennonite Church with interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Uniontown, Ohio. London Funeral Home assisting with arrangements.

Edward Bailey

Edward Bailey, age 71, died Saturday morning, May 31, in Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg. Mr. Bailey was a native of Marshall County, the son of the late Roy and Maudie Marie Waldrop Bailey, worked for the City of Lewisburg Recreation Golf Course and was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Edna McKnight Bailey; a daughter, Vickie Davenport; a son, Scott Bailey; a sister, Marie Walker; two brothers, Jerry and Wayne Bailey, all of Lewisburg and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, June 2, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home in Lewisburg, with Henry Horton officiating. Burial followed in Berea Cemetery at Verona. The family was at London Funeral Home for visitation on Sunday, June 1 after 3:00 p.m. and until the funeral hour on Monday. Pallbearers were Dee Walker, Robin Minor, Kenneth Bailey, Bill Bailey, Jerry Wayne Bailey, Floyd (Doc) Bailey, Jr., Steve Lancaster and Jackie Green.

Ms. Peggy Harris Spence

Ms. Peggy Harris Spence, age 68 of Columbia, died Friday, May 30, at her home. Ms. Spence was a native of Marshall County and daughter of the late John Clifford Harris and Mrs. Selma Carpenter Harris of Lewisburg, who survives. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ. In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Brenda Norris and Deborah Delk, both of Columbia; one brother, Gary Harris of Lewisburg and six grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, June 1, at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with Jason Hart officiating. Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family was at London Funeral Home after 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, until the funeral hour for visitation. Pallbearers were Heath Richardson, Wayne Spence, Larry Barnhardt, Ross Delk, Freddie Stewmon and Lanee Barnhardt.

Donald Lee Nation

Donald Lee Nation, age 71 of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, February 17, 2004 in Glen Oak Healthcare in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Mr. Nation was a native of Denton, Texas and son of the late Lawson Franklin and Lillie Housden Nation. He was retired from the Maintenance Department of Denton, Texas School System and was a Korean Veteran. He is survived by one daughter, Misty Don Beard of the Wheel Community, one stepdaughter, Amber Quinby of Buffalo, Oklahoma, four stepsons, Morris Brant of Loco, Oklahoma, Kirby Brant of Texas, Tommy Brant of Alabama and Monty Brant of Missouri, two sisters, Ann Stinchonb and Mildred Purser both of Denton, Texas, fifteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Round Hill Cemetery. The family will be at London Funeral Home Friday after 5:00 p.m. and Saturday until the funeral hour for visitation. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Flossie Maynard Woodward

Mrs. Flossie Maynard Woodward, age 87 of Smithville, Tennessee died Wednesday, January 28, 2004 in NHC Healthcare. Mrs. Woodward was a native of Silver Point, Tennessee and daughter of the late William Carroll and Martha Herald Maynard. She was a retired Sales Associate with Jewelry and Department Stores. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, William Edward Woodward, sister, Val Maynard LaFever and Grandson, Tyler Brett Caruso, she is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Woodward Smith of Mill Valley, California and Marilyn Woodward Caruso of St. Charles, Illinois, sister, Lucille Anderson of Baxter, Tennessee and sister-in-law, Grace Woodward DeFoe of the Spring Place Community, Tennessee, three grandchildren, Laurel Smith Newby, William Matthew Smith and Cameron Alexander Caruso. Funeral services will be conducted by Reverend Rush Severance Saturday, January 31, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial in Short Cemetery. The family will be at Cornersville Funeral Home Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour for visitation. Cornersville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James Larry Prince

James Larry Prince, age 59 of Lewisburg, formerly of Detroit, Michigan, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004 in Maury Regional Hospital. Mr. Prince was a native of Detroit, Michigan and son of the late Paul Prince and Neva Thompson Hager. He was a member of East Commerce Baptist Church. He is survived by four brothers, Charles Hager of Detroit, Michigan, Carl Hager of Oxford, Michigan, John Lloyd Hager of Skidway Lake, Michigan and Leslie Hager of Lewisburg, Tennessee and Two sisters, Betty Matthews of Lewisburg, Tennessee and Cynthia Strbenac of Richmond, Michigan. Mr. Prince's body will be conveyed to Fred H. Kaul Funeral Home in Detroit, Michigan where services will be conducted Saturday, February 7, 2004 with burial following in Cadillac Memorial Gardens. London Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennie Ann Loyd of Columbia, Tennessee and Donna Gay Herald of Cornersville, two sons, Glen Gene Herald of West Plains, Missouri and Steven Lynn Herald of Lewisburg, two sisters, Thelma Olsen of New Jersey and Shirley Harvey of  Johnson City, Tennessee, two brothers, Emory Miller of Michigan and Wayne Miller of  Johnson City, Tennessee, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will be at Cornersville Funeral Home after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday until the funeral hour for visitation. Cornersville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
