Mr. Carey, a retired superintendent of the Gibson County Special School District, died on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at North Crest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee. He was a member and deacon at Dyer Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and a member of the T.E.A.
His wife, Sandra Carey; one son, Billy Mack Carey, Jr. of Humboldt; three daughters, Lindsey Carey of Dyer, Lisa Jackson of Memphis and Christy Carey of Memphis; one brother, Reverend George Carey of Chandler, Arizona; one sister, Mary Simmons of Springfield and six grandchildren survive him.
