He was a retired sanitation worker for the city of Dyersburg and a member of the Pentecostal church.
Services are at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Drumwright officiating. Burial will be in Bellevernon Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Billy Stevens and wife Mary of Bonicord; three grandchildren Angela Stevens Wilson, Dewayne Stevens and Tracy Stevens Purvis; and three great-grandchildren, Allison Purvis, Austin Purvis and Adam Purvis.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Cordia Bell Douglas, three brothers, J.T. Stevens, Harry Stevens and Arlie Stevens and a grandson, Bryan Keith Stevens.
