Linda D. Peckenpaugh, 52, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, August 8, 2002 at West Tennessee Skilled Nursing Center in Jackson.
She was a former sales clerk for Wal-Mart, a member of First United Methodist Church, Koinonia Sunday School Class, FCE Home Demonstration Club, Cub Scout Den Mother and a volunteer at Jennie Bell School.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. David Bragg, the Rev. Wade Cox and Dr. Phillip Cook officiating.
The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today and Saturday at J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband, David Peckenpaugh of Dyersburg; a son, Brian Peckenpaugh and wife, Amanda, of Dyersburg; her mother, Mary Ann Wright of Dyersburg; and a brother, Billy Gene Wright and wife, Deana, of Bogota.
She was preceded in death by a son, Davy Peckenpaugh; and her father, Dossie Wright.
Pallbearers will be Billy Williams, John Green, Guy Merriman, Leon Crum, Jerald Preslar, Dr. David Ketchum and Dr. Baker Stewart.

T. Willie Halton, 89, of Ridgely, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Citizen Cemetery in Tiptonville. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a brother, Clarence Nance of Memphis; and two nieces.

Jane Brown, 94, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, August 8, 2002 at Methodist Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.
She was a homemaker and a seamstress and a member of the former RoEllen Community Club.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Tilly and the Rev. Frank Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery in Newbern.
The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Allen Brown of Millington and James T. Brown of Dyersburg; a brother, S.G. Coker of Newbern; five grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Brown; and her parents, Howard Y. and Jennie Craig Coker.

Jerril Clay Joslin, 76, of Jackson, formerly of Gallatin, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was a local merchant, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Humboldt Church of Christ, a former deacon and member of South Waters Church of Christ in Gallatin, and former president of the Quarterback Club of Gallatin High School.
A private graveside service was held today in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern with Brother Paul Helton officiating. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Liz Joslin Jackson of Roswell, Ga.; a son, Jerril Clay Joslin Jr. of Cookville; a sister, Elizabeth Joslin-Ladd of Newbern; and four grandchildren, Arthur P. "Jack" Jackson II of Athens, Ga., Franklin Clay Jackson of Alpharetta, Ga., Megan Joslin of Durham, N.C. and Molly Joslin of Los Angeles, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Ruth Patterson Joslin.
Pallbearers will be Arthur P. "Jack" Jackson, Clay Jackson, Mac Surratt, Tony Parsons, Ken Tillman and Curtis Summer.

Radine Smith Fields, 75, of Dresden, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 at her residence.
She was a retired pharmacy assistant and substitute teacher, a 1945 graduate of Dresden High School and a member of Dresden First United Methodist Church.
Services were at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Bowlin Funeral Home in Dresden. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Dresden.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Fields Chesser of Dyersburg and Janet Ray Erikson of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Charles L. Smith of Dresden; and three grandchildren, PFC John Wilson of Fort Knox, Ky., PVT2 Eric Wilson of Fort Bliss, Texas and Sara Erikson of Los Angeles, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kirk A. and Ida Lillian Westbrook Smith; and a sister, Ruth Melton.

Robert Edgar Klutts, 86, of Union City, died Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, at his home.
He was a retired farmer and janitor, a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4862 in Union City and a member of Graves Chapel Church of God.
Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at White-Mahon Funeral Home in Troy with Sister Rose Huey officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Hill Cemetery in Troy.
The family will receive visitors 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
He leaves five daughters, R. Faye Cashion of Dyersburg, Ronda Wyrick of Newbern, Ritta Dameron of Dyersburg, Remonia Littles of Friendship and Recia Heron of McKenzie; three sons, Randall Klutts of Laurel, Md., Rickey Klutts of Sharon and Ronnie Klutts of Dyersburg; two sisters, Edith Ragsdale of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Katherine Gammons of Troy; a brother, Lloyd Klutts of Troy; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Holland Klutts and Flora Elizabeth Klutts; his wife, Ruby Lee Curtis Klutts; a son, Robert O'Neal Klutts; and a grandchild, Robert Michael Cashion.

He was a retired maintenance employee with Colonial Rubber Works and a member of Finley Baptist Church.

Bob Fitzgerald, 63, of Texas, formerly of Newbern, died Monday, Aug. 5, 2002.
He was former plant manager for NUTONE Corp. in Coppell, Texas, earned his degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and a was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
A memorial service was held Aug. 7 at Bluebonnet Hills funeral Home in Colleyville, Texas.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Shirley Hill Fitzgerald.

Robert S. Bell, 73, of Friendship, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002 at Methodist Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.
He was a retired dairy farmer and an employee of Gibson Farmers Co-op, a member of Miller's Chapel Church of Christ, graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Korean War Army veteran and a tutor for Dyer County Literacy Program.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller's Chapel Church of Christ with Oscar Bruce officiating. Burial will be in Miller's Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors at 5-9 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
The widower of Helen Moore Bell, survivors include two daughters, Jane Bell Scott of Dyersburg and Kate Bell Alleger of Clinton, Mo.; a brother, Joe Bell of Springfield; and three grandchildren, Erin Carhart, Ben Alleger and Alex Scott.

Fred Vatcher, 64, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002 in a plane crash in Anderson County.
He was a retired major in the United States Air Force, wing commander of the Dyersburg Senior Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, served two years with the National Guard, served two tours in the Vietnam War, a member of B58 Association, a member of Spectar Association, VFW, American Legion Jere Cooper Post #30, 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite of West Memphis, Ark., a member of Peru-Miami, Ind. Lodge #67 F & AM, Shriner with Sahara Temple in Pine Bluff, Ark., Knights Templar of Olivet Lodge #20 in Blytheville, Ark., a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and commercial licensed pilot with Instrument and Multi-Engine Ratings.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Chaplain George Winters and Bob Dean officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Vatcher; two daughters, Holly Trowbridge and husband, Tony of Bartlett and Meg Hargett and husband, Danny, of Jackson; two sisters, Phyllis Hill of Amberts, N.H. and Laurette Morley of Meredith, N.H.; and a grandchild, Destin Hargett of Jackson.

David L. "Dave" Joslin, 62, of Jackson, formerly of Dyersburg, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002 at his residence.
He was retired sales manager for McCowat-Mercer, a member of Northside Lions Club and served as chapter president on several occasions as well as receiving the Melvin Jones Award for being named Lion of the Decade for West Tennessee, and was a member of North Side United Methodist Church, where he was active in the choir and a Sunday School teacher.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at North Side United Methodist Church with Dr. Don Thrasher officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. today at the North Chapel of George A. Smith & Sons Funeral Home.

Nolan W. Johnston, 91, of Nashville, formerly of Wynnburg, died Monday, August 12, 2002 at Alive Hospice Center in Nashville. She was a retired postmaster of Wynnburg Post Office for 46 years, a member of Burrus Chapel Church of Christ and a member of the National League of Postmasters, where she served as state president in 1958 and also served on committees on the state and national level. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Ridgely chapel of J.W. Curry & Son Funeral Home with Brother Charles Chumley and Brother Don Reel officiating. W. Douglas Rice, 84, of Newbern, died Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at Methodist Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.
He was retired owner of Doug Rice & Sons Mechanical Contractors, a deacon and 50 year member of Newbern First Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge #285 and 32nd Degree Mason. He held every office in the Masonic Fraternity in the State of Tennessee up to and including York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shrine and Grand Master of all Masons in the State of Tennessee by serving as the 1987 Grand Master.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Phipps and Brother Laddie Owens officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
