Craig Scott, owner of Willow Bend Books, announced that he has purchased Heritage Books, Inc. Scott says the publishing house division will be Heritage Books, with three imprints, Heritage Books, Willow Bend Books, and Family Line Publications which is no longer reprinted. Heritage Books, Inc. controls both companies with Scott controlling 100% of the stock.
HeritageBooks.com will list the titles published or owned distribution contracts. It will focus on dealer sales.
Willow Bend Books will continue to handle every known book that can be sold by a dealer, including the publishing house, all distribution contracts, and all consignments. It will focus on libraries, societies and individuals.
The Web sites will continue to operate independently. They will operate as two different divisions with two different missions. For more see www.WillowBendBooks.com.
DNA DATABASE-FOR MALES ONLY
Regardless of whether Oxford Ancestors or Family Tree DNA tested you, a new free site just popped up allowing you to submit your haplogroup and haplotype or just check to see if anyone else has the same markers as yours. PBS ON ANCIENT MAN
On January 21 the Public Broadcasting Station is airing a documentary on The Journey of Man: a Genetic Odyssey, based on a book by Spencer Wells in which the premise is to hunt the origins of mankind. The program presents in a language you can understand the DNA sequence and how it is carried today in all of us who received it from our ancient ancestors for 2,000 generations. Wisconsin Restrictions
Since the first of the year Wisconsin will no longer divulge the nature of a resident s recent death on the death records. It will give whether it was natural, accidental, homicide or suicide, but not the specific nature of the death. Since the law is not retroactive, deaths before January 1 will include all information.
