TWILA FERN BELL HAMBLETON
July 16, 2006

Services for Twila Fern Bell Hambleton, 78, of Midland, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Sherman with Rev. John Taylor, son-in-law, officiating.
She passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
She was born on August 31, 1927 in Vernon, to Allen George Bell and Mamie Juanita Shirley Bell. She graduated from Wichita Falls in 1944. She moved to Sherman in 1978. She worked for 22 years in sales for Beall's Department Store and retired in 2000. She moved to Midland, in 1999. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter: Charla Hambleton Wharten in 1998.
She is survived by her 2 daughters: Rebecca Taylor and husband, John of Odessa and Vanessa Helbert and husband, Eddie of Andrews; 2 sons: Grover Hambleton and wife, Elizabeth of Henryetta, Oklahoma and Steven Hambleton and wife, Tonia of Richmond, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Home Hospice, 516 North Texas, Odessa, Texas 79761.

JANELL MOORE
July 10, 2006

Funeral services for Janell Moore, 76, of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Andrews with Dr. Jeff Donnell, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at McNett Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
She passed away on Monday, July 10, 2006 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
She was born on November 8, 1929 in Loraine, Texas, to Evert L. Henderson and Latriece Teaff Henderson. She was raised in Loraine; graduated from Loraine High School in 1947; and married Troy Dee Moore on June 1, 1947 in Loraine. They moved to Andrews in 1947 and then to Colorado City, in 1949. She worked at City National Bank in Colorado City. They returned to Andrews, in 1951, where she had worked as a clerk for the County of Andrews Auditor for 21 years. She was involved the Andrews Boy Scouts when her sons were growing up; she loved to paint and play bridge; and was a member of the Permian Basin Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years, and was a member of the Victory Singers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on August 16, 1986; and a granddaughter: Alicia McIvoy in 1972.
She is survived by her 1 daughter: Diane Deemer and husband, Dan of Midland; 2 sons: Larry Moore of Dallas and Tony Moore and wife Jessie of Campbell; 1 sister: Laverne Chalker of Colorado City; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

L.O. VINCENT
July 1, 2006

Graveside services for L.O. Vincent, 87, of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Andrews Old Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Alvin Petty, minister of Wesley United Methodist Church.
L.O. was born July 18, 1918 in Luzon, Texas. She married Charlie W. Vincent on November 2, 1946 in Stanton, Texas. She was a member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Her husband, Charlie, preceded her in death on December 30, 2001.
Survivors include a daughter, Marlene and husband, Buddy Ham of Andrews, sisters, Winnell Haines and Von Cates, both of Andrews, 4 grandchildren, Brad Ham, Atlanta, GA, Vickie Ham Bailey, Dallas, Greg Ham and Gill Ham both of Andrews, 2 great-grandchildren; Quarto Ham, Dallas and Ashley Ham of Midland.

ART TANNER
July 1, 2006

Art Tanner, 60, of Andrews, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2006 in a Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 8, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. John Oliver will officiate.
Mr. Tanner was born January 22, 1946 in Calhone, Louisiana. He married Lois Clark October 2, 1969 in Rustin, Louisiana. They moved to Andrews, for the first time, over thirty-seven years ago from West Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Tanner worked in the oil field and then retired with Kirby West. He was very devoted to his faith and was an active member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness. He loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by two sons - Douglas Arthur Tanner in 1985 and Jonathan Tanner in 1974.
He is survived by: his wife - Lois Tanner of Andrews; one daughter - Amanda Loyd of Andrews; three brothers- E.L. Tanner of Eros, LA; Preston N. Tanner of Andrews; and Paul Tanner of Georgia; five sisters - Bertha Mae Powell; Bobbie Faye Demoss; Joyce Allbritton; and Floy Mercer all of Louisiana, and Pauline Halsey of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

VELDON LIZZY HUDGENS
June 30, 2006

Veldon Hudgens, 87, of Andrews, passed away Friday, June 30, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, July 3, 2006 at Andrews Old Cemetery, under the direction of McNett Funeral Home. Rev. Harvey Enriquez, pastor of Northcrest Baptist Church will officiate.
Veldon was born February 23, 1919 in New Boston, Texas. She married Truman "T.N." Hudgens in 1934 in Dekalb, Texas. They moved to Andrews, in 1941 from Hobbs, NM. She was a homemaker and mother and she loved her cats. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.N. Hudgens in 1973 and a daughter, Thresa Bell.
She is survived by: two sons - Eddie Wayne Hudgens of Dumas, Texas; Butch Hudgens of Las Vegas, NV; one daughter - Glenda Hale of Plano, Texas, and eleven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

KAYLA ANNETTE GRISSOM
June 30, 2006

Services for Kayla Annette Grissom, 18, of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at the First United Pentecostal Church. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Forrest of Midland, and Rev. James Barnes of Odessa. Burial will follow in the Andrews North.
Kayla passed away in Andrews, on Friday, June 30, 2006.
She was born on November 6, 1987 in Odessa, Texas. She had worked for KACT Radio in Andrews, and was employed as a clerk with Dillard's in Midland.
Survivors include: mother and step-father, Brett and Debra Linton of Andrews; Father Clarence Grissom of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; sisters, Sasha Grissom and Brit'ney Woolf, both of Andrews, and Melissa Grissom of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; brother, Austin Grissom, Rhinelander, Wisconsin; grandparents, George and Elois Stanley, Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Dollie Jennings, Andrews; Richard Bacon, Odessa; Carol and Rankin Woolf, Odessa and Rev. James and Dorothy Linton, Andrews.

JAMES W. ADAMS
June 25, 2006

Funeral services for James W. Adams Jr., 76, of Andrews, will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, with Loren Mueller of Andrews, and Rev. Jonnie Miller of St. Anthanasius Christian Orthodox Church in Andrews, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
James passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Hospice Midland Inpatient Unit in Midland.
James was born March 13, 1930 in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to James Willis Adams, Sr. and Lena Henrietta Polk Adams. James graduated from Rotan High School and attended Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. James married Windy Bruhn on March 23, 1951 in Stanton, Tennessee. James was a past golden glove boxer in Abilene and Odessa. They moved to Andrews, in 1970 from Odessa. James had worked for Dia-Log Wireline, Homco Wireline, Lightfoot Wireline, and had owned and operated Stuck Pipe Recovery. James was famous for his chili and cooked at Desk and Derrick Club and many other events and functions in Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister.
James is survived by his wife: Windy Adams of Andrews; 1 son: James W. "Bubba" Adams, III of Andrews; 2 daughters: Susan and husband, Mike Hoglund of Andrews, and Melanie and husband, Michael Setzler of Nemo, South Dakota; 1 brother, Ewell Adams of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Beth Tucek of Lewisville, Texas; 7 grandchildren; Josh Adams, Kevin and Adam Hefner, Sarah Hayes, Randi Jo Adams and Leah and Rachel Setzler; 4 great-grandchildren: Hope Hefner and Brandon, Gabriel and Colby Hayes; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 27, 2006, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Midland and Home Hospice.

EDWARD 'PETE' ROBERTS
June 20, 2006

Pete Roberts, 81, of Andrews, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church. David King of Andrews will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery.
Pete was born August 22, 1924 in Wilbarger County, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 until 1953. He married Margoary Gambrell June 24, 1950 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. They moved to Andrews County, in 1954 from Seminole. He was a Water Flood Plant Operator for Exxon when he retired. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. and he loved to play cards.
Pete is survived by: his wife - Margoary Roberts of Andrews; two daughters - Darlene Roberts of Plano, and Denise Pogue and husband, Kevin of Odessa; one brother - S.D. "Speck" Roberts of Andrews; one sister - Sue Brock of Andrews; four grandchildren; Melanie Casey and husband Eric of Plano; Shane Grimm and wife Crystal of Plano; Desirae Sias and husband Manuel of Snyder; and Kristie Oglesby of Odessa; four great-grandchildren - Kathrine Sias, Jackson and Ryleigh Casey and Noah Shane Grimm.

JOHN PAUL 'J.P.' SHARP
June 18, 2006

J. Paul Sharp, 81, of Andrews, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2006 at his home in Andrews.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at Second Baptist Church in Andrews. Rev. Kevin Covington, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
Paul was born December 20, 1924 in Dublin, Texas. He moved to Andrews, in 1960 from Kermit. He married Bobbie Anderson, August 7, 1972 in Andrews. Paul was a Pumper for Gulf Oil until his retirement. He also worked as a Butcher, a Cowboy and rode Bulls in his younger days. He owned and operated a Pipe Yard at one time. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and the Moose lodge and was a founding member of the Andrews Eagles Lodge. Paul loved his family and he loved to help people. He was preceded in death by, his wife, Bobbie in December of 2005, one step-daughter, and all of his brothers and sisters, and parents.
He is survived by: four daughters - Claudia Duncan of Dallas; Teresa Froelich of Andrews; Yolanda Sharp of Lake Ellsinore, California; and Kitti Steele of Dallas; step-children - Jan Nelson, and Naomi Foreman, both of Midland, and Billy Bob Kennedy of Houston; five grandchildren and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Gifts may be made to Star Hospice.

LORAINE C. PERRY
June 17, 2006

Loraine C. Perry, 84, of Andrews, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 22, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, with The Rev. Josie Rose of Santa Maria Virgin Episcopal Church in Midland, and Deacon Darla Jimenez of St. Mathias Episcopal Church in Andrews, officiating.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, June 26, 2006 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Loraine was born October 30, 1921 in San Antonio, to Joseph Arthur Clingman and Lorine Elizabeth Tengg Clingman. She graduated from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio, in 1938, and was the cadet commander of the high school's Purple Jacket Drill Team. Following her graduation from Texas State College For Women in Denton with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics, Loraine attended Texas Tech University for postgraduate work. During WWII, she worked for the U.S. Social Services in San Diego, California. On December 8, 1945, Loraine and Lee Neblett Perry, Jr. were married at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in San Antonio. Before moving to Andrews, in 1971, she lived in Hobbs, New Mexico, and taught school. She was a past member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Hobbs, and served as head of the Women of the Church. Since her move to Andrews, she has been a member of St. Mathias Episcopal Church in Andrews, and a longtime member of the American Association of University Women.
Loraine was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Perry, on February 28, 1993; her parents; and her son: William Lee Perry in 1952.
Loraine is survived by her daughter: Mary Casanova of Anacortes, Washington; Mary's fiance': Joe Gleason; daughter: Margaret Lee Perkins of San Antonio; Margaret's husband: Robert Perkins; and her granddaughter: Elizabeth Dawn Sauceda of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
