VELMA MAE WINCHESTER
June 16, 2006

Funeral services for Velma Mae Winchester, 90, of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM, Monday, June 19, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raul Puente and Rev. Don Swindell of Star Hospice in Odessa, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.
She passed away on Friday, June 16, 2006 at the Home Hospice House in Odessa.
She was born June 4, 1916 in Millersview, Texas, to James Robert Starnater and Lena Billings Starnater. She was raised on the family dairy farm in Abilene, and graduated from Abilene High School in 1936. She married Monroe Bonner "M.B." Winchester on October 1, 1938 in Abilene. They moved to Andrews, in 1956 from Odessa. She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters: Ethel Sims, Effie Warren, and Ellen Sherrill; and 1 brother: Otha Lavon Starnater
She is survived by her 1 daughter: Deborah Martin and husband, Tim of Andrews; and 3 grandchildren: Lyndon, Misty, and Chris Martin.
Memorials may be sent to Star Hospice, 620 North Grant, Odessa, Texas 79761 and the Home Hospice House, 903 North Sam Houston, Odessa, Texas 79761.

BOBBY ANN BURT
June 7, 2006

Bobby Ann Burt, 60, of Andrews, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at her home in Andrews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2006 at Andrews North Cemetery. Rev. Ivy Shelton of Sherwood Baptist Church in Odessa will officiate. Services are directed by McNett Funeral Home.
Bobby was born February 8, 1946 in Wellington, Texas. She married Jimmy Dale Burt in 1965 in Amarillo, Texas. They moved to Andrews, in 1986 from Higgins, Texas. Bobby loved her sons and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all of them. She also enjoyed playing old Nintendo games, and 42 and she liked to crochet. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Andrews.
She is survived by: Husband - Jimmy Burt of Andrews; Four Sons - Jimmy Burt of Booker, Texas; Elly Burt of Andrews; Jeff Burt of Casper Wyoming; and Alfred Burt of Andrews; three Sisters - Margie Carter of Oklahoma; Pauline Dominey of Odessa, and Martha Bell Bryant of Amarillo; and 15 grandchildren.

KATHY SUE DEAN
May 24, 2006

Kathy Sue Dean, 66, of Andrews, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 27, 2006 at McKinney Acres Baptist Church in Andrews. Rev. James Beard will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery.
Kathy was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 19, 1940, to Kenneth Roy and Kathryn Clementine Neher. She has been a long-time resident of Andrews, and graduated from Andrews High School in 1958. She married Edward G. Dean in 1970 in Andrews, and he preceded her in death in 1989. She was a Homemaker and a member of McKinney Acers Baptist Church. She loved to visit the lake, and play games and her favorite was "Crazy 8's". She was also a big fan of NASCAR and enjoyed the races every Sunday. Kathy was a very independent person and she enjoyed helping people.
She is survived by: three sons- Kenneth Dragoo of Andrews; Edward G. Dean, Jr. of Colorado; and Ralph Gordon Dean of Minnesota; four daughters - Mary Elizabeth McKellop of Bedford, Texas; Jennifer Nelmes of Andrews; Debbie Kay Fleming of Andrews; and Libby Mae Chambers of Andrews. four brothers- Ted Neher of Oklahoma; Tommy Neher of Killeen, Texas; James Neher of Andrews; and Terry Neher of Florida; and one sister - Jeri Jones of South Lake Tahoe, California; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

W.G. 'DUB' HATHCOCK

Funeral services for W.G. "Dub" Hathcock, 88, of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Sunday, May 21, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Andrews, with Dr. Jeff Donnell, Pastor, and Jimmy Davis of Greenwood, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews. Family will receive friends at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews, on Saturday, May 20, 2006 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM.
He passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.
He was born on December 1, 1917 in Van Zandt County, Texas, to Jess Levi Hathcock and Lillie Mae Chamblee. He grew up in Van Zandt County, and married Clois Irene Hedden on August 20, 1938 in Van Zandt County. He moved to Andrews, in 1943. He had worked for Carl S. Ham and Superior Welding in Andrews. He retired from the County of Andrews after serving 16 years as a county commissioner. He was a past member of the Andrews Downtown Lions Club, Andrews Senior Center, and was well known in the community as the man in the little red truck that fed bread to the ducks at the city lake. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife on March 6, 1990; parents; 3 brothers; son: William James Hathcock in 1978; and grandson: Dustin Max Hathcock in 1977.
He is survived by his 1 son: Max Hathcock and wife, Sherry of Andrews; 1 daughter: Nelda Bills and husband, Jimmy of Humble; 2 sisters: Jewel Woolverton of Mabank and Crystal Weeks of Azle; 7 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

ANTONIO CARRASCO
May 15, 2006

Funeral services in Andrews, Texas for Antonio Carrasco, 84, will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, with Rev. Teodulo Garcia, Pastor of La Nueva Jerusalem in Andrews, officiating.
Services in Mexico will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Funeraria Del Valle in Ojinaga, Mexico with Rev. Adriana Mendez, Pastor of Centro Evangelistico of Midland, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ultimo Refugio in Ojinaga, Mexico under the direction of Funeraria Del Valle in Ojinaga.
He passed away on Monday, May 15, 2006 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
He was born January 21, 1922 in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ismael Carrasco and Ester Castillo Carrasco. He married Herculana Caballero in June 1955 in Ojinaga, Mexico. He was a teacher for 25 years, teaching at Manuel Ojinaga Escuela Primeria and escuela nocturna escuela adultos in Ojinaga, Mexico. He moved to Andrews, in 1980 from Ojinaga. He was Pentecostal. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons: Ismael and Guillermo Carrasco; and 3 daughters: Noemi, Ester, and Lourdes Carrasco.
He is survived by his wife: Herculana Caballero Carrasco of Andrews; 3 sons: Humberto, Javier, and Rene Carrasco of Andrews; 1 daughter: Socorro Aranda of Andrews; 1 brother: Gonzalo Eguiarte of Chihuahua, Mexico; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

MARIA DE LOS ANGELES MEZA RUIZ
May 10, 2006

Rosary services for Maria De Los Angeles Meza Ruiz, 71, of Andrews, will be 7:00 PM Friday, May 12, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, with Rev. Bernard Gully, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
She entered into eternal life on her 51st wedding anniversary on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
She was born January 1, 1935 in Villa Matamoros, Mexico, to Lucio Esparza Meza and Belen Torres Meza. She married Willebaldo Monarez Ruiz on May 10, 1955 in Villa Matamoros, Mexico. She worked with her husband on the farm for 23 years. They moved to Seminole, in 1964, and then to Lamesa, and moved to Andrews, in 1971. She worked for Kirby West for 8 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews, where she was very involved in the church choir and ministry and helped visit the sick. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers: Lucio, Isidro, and Remedios Meza; and her son: Willie Ruiz.
She is survived by her husband: Willebaldo Ruiz of Andrews; 6 sons: Ben Ruiz and wife Linda of Andrews, Freddy Ruiz of Andrews, Javier Ruiz of Andrews, and Ricardo Ruiz of Andrews, Willie M. Ruiz and wife Leticia of San Angelo, and Leopoldo Ruiz and wife Linda of Odessa; 2 sisters: Margarita Reyes of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Geneveva Meza of Odessa; 19 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Memorials may be sent to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Foundation.

WILL EDD WALDROP
May 8, 2006

Funeral services for Will Edd Waldrop, 60, of Hennessey, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at the Hennessey Church of Christ in Hennessey, Oklahoma, with Billy Norton and Lanny Jobe officiating. Services will be under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home in Hennessey, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be also held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 12, 2006 at the Andrews Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews, Texas.
Will Edd passed away on Monday, May 8, 2006 after a three-month battle with Leukemia.
Will Edd was born in Sundown, Texas on March 28, 1946 to J.T. and Leona Estelle Campbell Waldrop. His childhood was spent in Andrews, Texas. He worked for Stoehr Wire Rope of Odessa, Texas, since 1977 and relocated in 1981 to Hennessey, Oklahoma. He is a member of the Hennessey Church of Christ and the Hennessey Lion's Club. Will was Captain and long-time member of the Hennessey Fire Department and had been on the Town Council since 1992. The loving daddy and granddaddy was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Billy Edd.
He is survived by his wife: Janice Waldrop of Hennessey, Oklahoma; 4 daughters: Lauri Petrolia and her husband, Fred, of Hennessey, Lisa Adkins and her husband Norvel of Collierville, Tennessee, Donna Waldrop of Hennessey, and Kayla Waldrop of Enid, Oklahoma; 2 sons: Kenny Waldrop of Oklahoma City and Justin Waldrop of Hennessey; 1 brother: Jay Waldrop of Andrews; 2 sisters: Jane Vining and Myrle Price of Andrews; and he is also survived by the lights of his life, his 5 grandchildren: Freddy, Chet, Lexi, Lauren, and Kiersten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: The Hennessey Rose Rock Bank Waldrop Fund, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or the Hennessey Church of Christ.

ELIZABETH GAMBOA

Elizabeth Gamboa, 13, of Andrews, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Covenant Children’s Hospital in Lubbock.
Rosary services will be at 7:00 PM Thursday, May 4, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 5, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Rev. Bernard Gully will officiate. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
Elizabeth was born June 3, 1992 in Andrews. She was a student at Andrews Middle School. She enjoyed school, and she was very family-oriented. Her grandmother, Rosie Gonzales, preceded her in death.
She is survived by: her Mother - Frances Hernandez of Andrews; her Father - Joe Gamboa, formerly of Andrews; one Brother - Michael Gamboa of Andrews; three sisters - Rosie Trevino, Josie Sanchez, and Delilah Gamboa all of Andrews; grandparents - Frances and Manuel "Pewee" Barboza of Andrews; and Henry Gamboa;
great-grandparents - Ramon and Filipa Barrera of Roswell, NM; Aunt - Cynthia Pineda of Andrews; and Several other aunts uncles and cousins.

H.C. 'JAKE'ARMSTRONG
April 29, 2006

Services for H.C. "Jake" Armstrong, 90, of Andrews, will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Frank Parker of Muleshoe. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Jake passed away in Andrews on Saturday, April 29, 2006. He was born on November 3, 1915 in Knox City, Texas. He married Georgia M. Stubbs on September 20, 1941 in Lubbock, Texas. Jake was a farmer, he farmed in Lamb County for many years, he also was carpenter. He loved fishing, playing golf, yahtzee, and gin rummy. He was a Mason for 59 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia on September 6, 2001. His son, Jerry, and his brother, Bob, preceded him in death.
Survivors include; daughter Roxy Baber and husband Wayne of Andrews. 3 grandchildren; Craig Armstrong, Robyn and husband Glen Abney, Brett Baber; and 3 great-grandchildren; Logan Baber, Dustin Abney and Ashley Abney.

EDWARD L. HENN
April 23, 2006

Edward Leon Henn, 82, of Andrews, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006 at his daughter's home in Andrews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with John Bell of Kermit, Gregory Young of Andrews, and Bruce Williams of Midland, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery. Family will receive friends at McNett Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 7-8 PM.
Edward was born October 10, 1923 in Orlando, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Drilling Superintendent for Elenburg Exploration for over 15 years and several other companies over the years. He married Billie Ruth Carnes November 14, 1966 in Roswell, NM. They moved to in and out of Andrews, several times, but moved back to stay in 1983 from Montana. He was a member and former Branch President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Andrews. He loved his Church and his wife very much. Mr. Henn also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved to joke and tease people. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Billie in 2005 and one sister, Elora Henn.
He is survived by: 2 Sons - Mike Henn of Rapid City, South Dakota and Craig Batson of Fort Worth; 6 Daughters - Marlene Jones of Norfolk, Virginia; Jana Beth Hawkins of North Carolina; LaVada Brinton of Salt Lake City, Utah; Daisy Barton of Andrews; Patsy Ford of Merkel; and Geneva Napper of Andrews; 2 Sisters - Martha Burk of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Lorraine Vitt of Bedford; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
