MARGARET FAYE MORGAN
January 27, 2006

Funeral services for Margaret Faye Morgan, 85, of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 29, 2006 at the Andrews Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Zap officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery.
She passed away on Friday, January 27, 2006 at Heart of Texas Memorial Hospital in Brady.
She was born on October 26, 1920 in Big Spring, to Lafayette Franklin Keisling and Margaret Ferrier Keisling. She graduated from Big Spring High School in 1936. She married Lloyd Winfield Morgan on March 25, 1944 in Fort Worth, and they moved to Andrews, in 1946 and began ranching. She was instrumental in establishing the Andrews Study Club, where they established a library. She remained active in library activities including the Friends of the Library and helped to build the new Andrews County Library. She enjoyed the Garden Club, Literary Club, and playing bridge with the same club for the past 50 years. She was a founding member of the Andrews Presbyterian Church in 1954; where she was an Elder and taught Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother; and her husband on September 5, 1980.
She is survived by her 3 daughters: Marsha McBee of Dallas, Susan Horton of Brady, and Nancy Morgan of Austin; 1 son: Mark Morgan of Big Spring; and 10 grandchildren.

GUADALUPE EMILIANO
January 22, 2006

Guadalupe Emiliano, 86, of Andrews, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2006 at her home in Andrews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Filadelfia Assembly of God Church in Andrews. Mrs. Emiliano's son, Rev. Samuel Emiliano, pastor of Filadelfia Assembly of God, will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery. Mrs. Emiliano will be in state for visitation at Filadelfia Assembly of God beginning 10:00 AM Monday.
Mrs. Emiliano was born April 26, 1919 in Brownsboro, Texas. She married Agapito Emiliano August 24, 1935 in Dallas. She was a member of the Filadelfia Assembly of God Church, and she was a Homemaker. She loved to cook and she made the best Crazy Bread and Coconut Pie in the world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Agapito Emiliano February 11, 2004.
She is survived by: 4 sons - Samuel Emiliano, and Jacob Emiliano both of Andrews; Pedro Emiliano of Odessa and Elias Emiliano of Andrews; 4 daughters - Anita Travino, Petra Contreras, Teresa Alvarez, and Noemi Sanchez all of Andrews, 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

PEARLIE McGILL
January 20, 2006

Services for Pearlie McGill, 94, of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM, Monday, January 23, 2006 at Means Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Doyle, pastor of Means Memorial United Methodist Church and Rev. Earl Blair, Canyon, Texas. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.
Pearlie died Friday, January 20, 2006 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews. She was born on November 24, 1911 in Erath County, Texas. She graduated from Lamesa High School in 1931. She received her teaching certificate from McMurry in 1949, she graduated from North Texas in 1954. She taught school in Dawson County and in Andrews, for a total of 23 years.
Pearlie married Vernon Wilson Bryant, Sr. in Lamesa, in May 1938. Vernon preceded her in death on April 25, 1943. She married Guy McGill in Andrews, in 1963. Pearlie was a member of the Means Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: sons, John Bryant, San Francisco, California; Vernon Wilson Bryant, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, John Shillingburg and wife, Nancy, Alexandria, Virginia; sister, Oleta Adkins, Midland, Texas; grandchildren: Vernon Wilson Bryant, III and wife, Chelsey, Austin, Texas; Theron L. Bryant, and wife, Leslie, Ft. Worth, Texas; great-grandchildren: Vernon Wilson Bryant IV, Austin, Texas; Chandler Annette Bryant, Austin, Texas; Bridget Faith Bryant, Austin, Texas; and Ava Bremond Bryant, Ft. Worth, Texas. Preceding Pearlie in death was brothers, Doyle Shillingburg on April 18, 1986, Laurence Shillingburg on October 24, 1997, sisters, Marie Buchanan on March 5, 1981 and Olena Bingham on November 19, 1981.

SAIGE NAYSA PRICE
January 18, 2006

Saige Naysa Price, 6 month old infant daughter of Brandon and Kristi Price of Andrews, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Covenant Medical Center Lakeside in Lubbock.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 21, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Andrews. Dr. Jeff Donnell, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Andrews Cemetery.
Saige was born June 29, 2005 in Lubbock, Texas. Saige was a beautiful miracle from God, and her Daddy's little "Peanut".
Saige is survived by: her Mom and Dad, Brandon and Kristi Price of Andrews; Her Big Brother, Layton Price of Andrews; grandparents - James and Tonya Beard, Lyn and Patti Hudson, and Claude Price all of Andrews; great-grandparents - Raymond and Snookie Hudson of Crane; Walter and Ruby Burson of Andrews, Hedy Irwin of Andrews; Barbara and Jerry Deaver of Andrews; and James Buddy Beard of Hugo, Oklahoma.

MARIA ANNA VELA
January 17, 2006

Services for Maria Vela, 76, of Andrews, will be 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Uecker. A rosary services will be at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Ultimo Refujio Cemetery in Ojinaga, Mexico.
Maria died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 in Midland. She was born on July 26, 1929 in Santa Teresa, Mexico. She married Jose V. Vela on January 13, 1947 in El Alamo, Mexico. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
Survivors include: husband, Jose, Andrews; sons, Guadalupe Vela, Ojinaga, Mexico, Jose Luis Vela and Jamie Vela, both of Andrews; daughter, Margarita Favela, Chih, Mexico; brother, Frederico Munoz, Pedro, Mexico; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A son, Jesus Isidro Vela, preceded her in death.

GERTRUDE CREASON KINNEY
January 16, 2006

Memorial services for Gertrude Creason Kinney, 94, of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews, with Raul Puente, Chaplain for Star Hospice, and Mrs. Kinney's grandson, Robert Moore, officiating. Cremation is under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
Gertrude passed away on Monday, January 16, 2006 at her residence.
She was born on August 13, 1911 in Sibley, Missouri, to Lige Creason and Minnie P. Benson Creason. She married David A. Kinney, Jr. on September 29, 1928 in Cleveland, Oklahoma. They moved to Andrews, in 1950, where they started Kinney and Kinney in 1954. Kinney and Kinney later became Kinney, Inc. in 1956, which she owned until 1981. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on February 8, 1962 and her son, David A. Kinney III, in 1952.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia K. Moore of Andrews; 4 grandchildren - Robert Moore and wife, Cynthia; Kim and Kelly Kinney; Karen Foltz and husband, Ronnie; David Kinney and wife, Jennifer. 11 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

GENE SAWYER
January 13, 2006

Memorial services for Gene Sawyer, 55, of Andrews, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Cremation is under the direction of McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
Gene passed away on Friday, January 13, 2006 at his residence in Andrews.
He was born April 11, 1950 in Rotan, Texas, to James Weldon Sawyer and Mary Frances Cooper Sawyer. He lived in Andrews from 1952-1968 and served in the U.S. Navy for 22-1/2 years and retired as Petty Officer 1st Class. He served in Vietnam Era and Operation Desert Storm. He returned back to Andrews, in 1993. He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his 2 sons: Jay Sawyer of San Angelo and Bryan Sawyer of Lamoore, California; 3 daughters: Amy Hale of Robert Lee, Brandi Sawyer of Friendswood, and Lyndsey Sawyer of San Marcos; mother: Frances Sawyer of Andrews; 3 brothers: Jimmy Sawyer of Abilene, Johnny Sawyer and wife, Debbie of Andrews, and Mitch Sawyer and wife, Michelle of Andrews; 2 sisters: Venita Shellman and husband Mike of Anaheim, California and Joretta Woods and husband Ken of Eldorado, Arkansas; and 8 grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Andrews Senior Center or Pink Ladies Auxiliary.

JOYCE GUNN
April 14, 2007

Joyce Gunn, 80, of Andrews, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Home Hospice House in Odessa.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM at McNett Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, at Andrews West Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00 PM at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
Joyce was born June 24, 1926 at Gonzales, Texas. She moved to Andrews, in 1974. Joyce spent many years serving in both the Permian Regional Medical Center Auxiliary in Andrews and the Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary. Her specialty was making tray favors for the patients. Joyce took great care in making sure patients had something on their tray to cheer them up. She also served on the State Board as chairman of many committees from 1994 through 2005. She devoted much of her time and love towards the Auxiliary women, making friends from all over the state.
She and her husband, Buster, loved Country and Western dancing, traveling to various little towns for just that purpose. They also traveled extensively, after they retired, and really loved taking Dan Dipert bus tours around the country. They also traveled to Mexico, Canada, Europe and Australia.
She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and was the charter Queen Mother of the "Red Hatters" in Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Gunn in 2006 and five sisters and one brother and her parents.
She is survived by three daughters - Peggy Chew of San Antonio; Diann Perkins and Della Weaver, both of Odessa; one brother - Walter Thoms of Taylor, Texas and one grandson - Joseph Weaver of Odessa.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society or the Permian Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.

MARY DOLLIE JENNINGS
April 27, 2007

Services for Mary "Dollie" Vick Jennings, 73, of Andrews, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the First United Pentecostal Church. Officiating will be Rev. James Linton, pastor. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Dollie passed away Friday afternoon, April 27, 2007 in Odessa. She was born on January 30, 1934 in Franklin County, Texas. She worked as a nurse's aid in nursing homes before retirement. Survivors include: daughters, Maquetia Allene Wilson, Hendersonville, Tennessee; Debra Kay Linton, Andrews; sons, Buddy Youngblood, Lovington, New Mexico; and Jerry Neal Youngblood, Granbury, Texas; brother, Charles Vick, Pampa, Texas; twelve grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Leo, Cleo, Clyde and Earl Vick, six sisters: Doris Elders, Hazel Pike, Illena Albright, Syble Dossey, Tincie Mae Vick and Bea Justice; and two granddaughters: Cathrine Allene Tison and Kayla Grissom.

J.W. JAY MOXLEY
June 22, 2007

J.W. (Jay) Moxley, 88, of Andrews, passed away early Friday, June 22, 2007 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews. Rev. Rick Doyle will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Jay was born May 9, 1919 in Lone Oak, Texas, to Ed and Anice Lou Moxley as the youngest of nine children. He was raised in Ropesville, TX, and graduated from High School there in 1937. He moved to Andrews, with his family in 1938. Jay served in the U.S. Army and worked with the Army Corps of Engineers, building the Alaskan Highway. He later served in the South Pacific and was awarded the Bronze Star.
He married Lettie Carmichael July 12, 1947 in Anson, Texas. Jay helped build the existing Andrews County Court House, as well as the Means Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was a member and served as an usher for many years. Jay served as Andrews County Commissioner from 1952 until he retired in 1988. During his time in office, Andrews County saw huge growth. Most county building and facilities that Andrews enjoys were built while Jay was Commissioner, including the present hospital, the outdoor rodeo arena on North 385 and many others. Jay was responsible for the county employees being offered a retirement plan. He helped build and pave most of the county roads during his time.
Jay was also active as a member of the Andrews Volunteer Fire Department, a Fifty-year member of the Oddfellows, and long-time member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by: his wife, Lettie Moxley of Andrews; two daughters, Cathy Omenson of Sugar Land, Texas; and Judy Heronema of Andrews; four grandchildren: Amanda Jones, Christie Heronema, Audrey Omenson and Lana Omenson; one sister, Arlene Lonis of Carson, California, and several nieces and nephews.
The family ask that memorial gifts be made to Means Memorial United Methodist Church.
