Ernie Ramos
1945-2014

Ernie Ramos of Pipe Creek passed away Friday, Oct. 31, in Kerrville. He was born in Alpine on July 30, 1945, to Herminio and Elena Ramos.

Ernie married Martina Ramos on May 24, 1997 in Alpine.

He formerly worked for Bandera County Road and Bridge Department.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Martina Ramos; daughter Pam Monclova; sons, Ray Ramos and Sammy Ramos; stepchildren, Dymphna De La Rosa, Willie Burgess, Debbie Cardiel and Steve Burgess; sisters, Mary Robledo and Joanne Hullum; and brother Herminio Ramos Jr. Ernie is also survived by 14 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 pm Saturday, Nov. 8, at his home at 265 Rustic Lane in Pipe Creek.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.

Oscar Flores Trevino
1930-2014

Oscar Flores Trevino, 84, of Pearsall passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, in Bandera. He was born in Pearsall to Maria Del Ressugio Flore (Cuca) and Manuel Trevino (Meme) on July 11, 1930.

He married Elisa Trevino in Pearsall.

Oscar attended the only elementary school in town. After working at a steel mill for a short while, he spent most of his professional life as a personal contractor with OT Construction.

A veteran of the United States Army, Oscar served in the Korean War.

He was involved in Little League baseball and several other organizations. In addition, Oscar received many honors, awards and achievements, including a personal DVD from the City of Fremont, California where he resided for a great portion of his life.

After moving to Bandera, Oscar showed his artistic talent by costructing a five-foot tall replica of the Bandera County Courthouse. The impressive structure is currently displayed at Bandera's Frontier Times Museum.

Oscar is survived by his second wife, Lydia D. Trevino; sisters, Olga Coronado and Olivia Chappins; brothers, Juan "Chuy" and Rudy Trevino; children, Rusty and his wife, Carolyn; Gilbert and his wife, Celia; and Paul Trevino; grandchildren, Philip and Tom, Andrea and Anthony, Alex and Austin, Abby and Avery and the youngest one, Jackson James Schaukowitch.

Oscar was predeceased by his first wife, Elisa Trevino; sister Lupe Rodriquez; and brother Manuel Trevino.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.

Oscar Flores Trevino
2014

Oscar Flores Trevino, 84, of Bandera, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2. A Vigil Service will take place at 2 pm, Friday, Nov. 7, at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera with Father John Nolan officiating.

Elma Ruth Keese
1921-2014

Elma Ruth Keese, 93, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2. She was born on Jan. 9, 1921 in Mercedes to George Augustus Fikes and Stella Frances Jordan Fikes.

After graduating from Mercedes High School in 1938, Ruth moved to Corpus Christi where she was employed with the Hidalgo and Cameron Counties Water Control District No. 9.

Ruth married Eugene "Gene" R. Keese on August 4, 1946, at her parent's home in Mercedes. They lived in Corpus Christi for many years. In 1978, the couple moved to Kerrville where Ruth resided until her death.

For many years she was employed at Schreiner University. Ruth was also a devoted and faithful member of the Riverside Church of Christ.

She is survived by a younger sister, Jane Fikes, of Corpus Christi, and by many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, husband, sister Lillie Kleinecke and daughter Linda Peete.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 6, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville with Olden Cooke and Al Horne officiating. Interment followed at Garden of Memories cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wayne Keese, Gary Keese, Mark Odle, Leroy Keese, Bob Keese and Gene Bosse. Honorary pallbearers included RL Keese, JD Prior, Earl Herrington and Earl Keese.

Memorials may be made to Arms of Hope in Medina or to a children's home of choice.

James Earl Townsend
2014

James Earl Townsend, 83, of Pipe Creek, passed away Friday, Nov. 14, at his home.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Graves; loved one Elaine Delosh; brother Rusty Townsend; grandson Michael Victro, Jr.; and granddaughters, Melissa DeSousa, Sabrina Corcoran and Samantha Castadoro, as well as by 10 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Marcus Emil and Ona Viola Reeves Townsend.

No services are scheduled.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hurley Funeral Home in Devine.

Bertha Virginia Myers
1922-2015

Bertha Virginia Myers, 92, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, Jan. 19, passing away peacefully in the presence of family members.

At that time, she was reunited with her beloved husband, David Ray Myers, to whom she had been married for 47 years at the time of his death, and her son, Alan Lynn Myers. Bertha was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania, on July 16, 1922 to Howard and Della Smith, who also preceded her in death.

In 1945, Bertha and her husband relocated from Mercersburg, Pennsylvania to Caracas, Venezuela, where they lived until 1962, when they relocated to Fort Worth. In 2007, Bertha's last move was to Pipe Creek to be near her family.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved her Lord.

Bertha is survived by her sons, Robert R. Myers and his wife, Karen, of Waycross, Georgia, and David L. Myers and his wife, Becky, of Pipe Creek; daughters, Carol A. Cobler and her husband, Richard, of Pipe Creek, and Virginia K. Myers of Azle; and daughter-in-law Suzanne Myers, also of Azle. Bertha also leaves behind seven precious grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Greenwood Funeral Home, located at University Drive and White Settlement Road, in Fort Worth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pipe Creek Community Church.

Douglas Edward Clemens
1928-2015

Douglas Edward Clemens, 86, of Tarpley, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, in Bandera. He was born June 9, 1928, in Del Rio to Ferdinand Adolph Jr. and Bessie Ray Clemens.

After growing up in Dallas, Doug graduated from North Dallas High School in 1945. He attended Texas A&M; before enlisting in the Army Air Corps in May 1946. While in military, he received the World War II Victory medal and the Army of Occupation medal.

Doug spent his career in the printing business - first with Clemens Printing in San Antonio and later with Big Spring Printing before returning to Dallas-Fort Worth where he sold printing until his retirement to Tarpley.

Survivors include his children, Mark Clemens and his wife, Jo Ann, of Tarpley; Evan Clemens and his wife, Carol, of Woodland Park, New Jersey; Pam Lackey and her husband, Kimball, of Weatherford; and Dean Clemens and his wife, Cheryl, of Conroe; and brother Wayne Clemens and his wife, Jean, of Garland, as well as by eight grandchildren and four great-granddaughters and Charlie.

A memorial service and interment will be held 10:30 am, Friday, April 3, at Dallas-Fort Worth National cemetery.

Doug's family extends their sincere thanks to the caregivers at Bandera Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center and the many friends who looked out for him during his time in Tarpley.
