Geneva Ann Copeland
1941-2015
Our beloved sister, mother and grandmother Geneva Ann Copeland, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep during the early morning hours of Saturday, Oct. 10.
She was born on June 30, 1941. After losing her mother at an early age, Geneva was raised by her grandfather, John V. Walker, in Hamlin.
She spent most of her adult years in San Antonio, working and raising her family. After the loss of her husband, Danny, Geneva moved to Pipe Creek and later to Boerne.
A spirited woman with a special love for animals, Geneva will be missed by the many people who loved her.
She is survived by her siblings, Doyle Wayne, John and Leona; sons, Don and his wife, Kathy, and Brett and his wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Christopher, Erica, Michelle, Darian, Hunter and Victoria; and great-grandchildren, Colin, Krystyn, Ava, Ariel, Leon, Emily, Skyler and Jeremiah.
A chapel service will be celebrated at 11 am, Friday, Oct. 16, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, 1700 SE Military Drive, in San Antonio. Telephone is 210-924-4242. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park South.
Gwendolyn Gray Haegelin
1919-2015
Gwendolyn Gray "Gwen" Haegelin, 96, of Bandera and formerly of Hondo, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8.
Borne in Uvalde, June 19, 1919, she was the daughter of James Edward and Clara B. Uzzell Gray.
A former member of the Hondo Garden Club and Medina Community Hospital Auxiliary, Gwen loved cooking, dancing and working in her yard. However, her greatest enjoyment came from the time she spent with family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Albert Haegelin and his wife, Cindy, of Austin; daughter Kathy Stevens and her husband, Homer, of Bandera; grandchildren, Scott Haegelin and his wife, Tess; Brian Haegelin and his wife, Sarah; and Katie Talkington and her husband, Brad; and seven great-grandchildren, Ellie and Ford Haegelin; Henry, Gage and Lincoln Haegelin; and Trenton and Spencer Talkington.
Gwen was predeceased by her parents; husband of 62 years, Albert Alexander Haegelin; brothers, Norman Kent Gray, James Campbell Gray; and Bruce Uzzell Gray Sr. and great-granddaughter Emma Kate Talkington.
A Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 14, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment followed at Hondo cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Dorismae Bell
2015
Dorismae Bell, 80, of Bandera, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, at Methodist Texsan Hospital in San Antonio.
She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and married
to the late Maurice G. Bell of Divernon, Illinois.
Doris graduated from Edison High School in Minneapolis. She worked as a machine operator for 30 years for Dickey-John in Auburn Illinois. Doris was also a veteran of the United States Naval Reserve.
She is survived by son Charles Bell and daughter Marisa "MJ" Bell.
A Post Ever Lasting ceremony will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, Oct. 31, at American Legion Post 157 in Bandera.

Melody Jo Moore
1954-2015
Our beautiful daughter, wife, mother and grandmother, Melody Jo Moore, passed away the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 7, at her home in Ingram.
She was born in San Antonio on Dec. 30, 1954. Melody attended Bandera schools, graduating in 1972.
She worked at La Hacienda Treatment Center and previously at Hill Country Telephone Cooperative.
Melody was a fun person with many, many friends who will love and miss her. Over the years, she adopted countless stray dogs and also loved them all.
Each summer, Melody especially enjoyed going to the beach at Rockport and Port Aransas with her grandson, Jacob. He was the light of her life, friend and buddy. They made many memories together.
Melody is survived by her husband, Lucky Moore Jr. and girlfriend Lacey Alloway, of Ingram; grandson Jacob Lee Moore and his mother, Alena Moore, and friend, Jimmy Burrow, of Kerrville; mother-in-law Frances Moore and brother-in-law Lester Moore of Kerrville; father Fred John McCord of Beaver, Utah; and brothers, Kevin McCord of Las Vegas and John McCord of Illinois. She is also survived by her stepfather and her mother, Thomas and Betty Kindla, of Bandera.
Melody was predeceased by her loving brother, Thomas "Butch" Kindla Jr., in 1995; father-in-law, Jimmie Lee Moore of Kerrville; and maternal grandparents, Joe and Arantha Stein of Bandera.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kathleen C. Cailloux Humane Society, 29010 Junction Highway, Kerrville, or to the Living Tree Baptist Church, 405 West Main, Ingram.
A celebration of Melody's life will be held at a later date in Port Aransas.
Lois Heinen Hayes
1919-2015
Lois Heinen Hayes, 96, of Bandera, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, in a Bandera care center.
She was born in Comfort on July 27, 1919, to Frank J. Heinen and Dovie Bass Heinen. She married
Harold E. Hayes on Dec. 21, 1935 in Bandera.
Mrs. Hayes attended school in Medina and Bandera. An active member of Bandera United Methodist Church since 1942, she taught Sunday school for many years and sang in the choir. As a member of the Bandera United Methodist Women, she held all offices, participated in the "Cut Ups" and served as chairman of the Bandera United Methodist Church Grief Support Committee for over 20 years. Mrs. Hayes also served communion to nursing home residents.
After many years, she retired from her work at the King-Dergarten daycare center where the children adored her and her co-workers loved and appreciated her.
Mrs. Hayes also served on the Helping Hand Board of Directors and as a former director of the Bandera cemetery Association.
Survivors include daughter Elizabeth Murphy; son Russell Hayes and his wife, Sherry; grandchildren, Debra Putnam and her husband, Richard; Norman Hayes and his wife, Monica; Cindy Bowles and her husband, Charles; Megan Hayes; Jeannie Murphy; and Allen Hayes; great-grandchildren, Heather Hayes, Laura Riley, Eric Putnam, Charlotte Bowles and Celeste Bowles; and great-great-grandson, Jason Riley, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Jan. 3, 1986; son Harold Allen "Sonny" Hayes in October 2009; a great-grandson; and four brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will take place from 5 pm to 7 pm, Thursday Oct. 29, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Friday, Oct. 30, at Bandera United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Thompson and Rev. Larry McRorey officiating. Burial will follow at Bandera cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
Pallbearers will be Norman A. Hayes, Charles Bowles, Richard Putnam, Eric Putnam, Henry Holt, Gerald Byrket, Curtis Heinen and Allen Hayes.

Tim Kayser
1950 - 2015
Timothy L. Kayser, 64, of Lakehills, passed away on Nov. 9, 2015, in Lakehills. He was born in San Antonio, TX. to Tommy and Laverne Kayser on Nov. 14, 1950.
Tim is survived by Jackie Kayser; the mother of his child, Linda Freeman; son, Jason Kayser and wife, Jenny of Harker Heights, Texas; brothers, Thomas Kayser of San Antonio, and Terry Kayser and wife, Laurel of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Kaydence Kayser, Brayden Kayser and Kaleb Kayser
Visitation will be 10 am to 2 pm, Friday, Nov. 13, at Grimes Chapel in Bandera.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Friday, Nov. 13, at Grimes Chapel with Pastor Phil Risley officiating. Burial will follow at Pipe Creek cemetery.
