ELEANOR SANTEE MILLER
Eleanor Santee Miller, 90, a Bandera resident since 1990, died
July 31 at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, from complications following heart surgery.
Born Feb. 25, 1913 in Bethlehem, PA to Anna and Claude Santee, one of seven children. Married Reynolds C. Miller in 1932 and moved to Boothbay Harbor, Maine five years later where they made their home for over 50 years and raised their daughter Helen and son David. Following her husband's death in 1988, she moved to Bandera in 1990 to be near her daughter Helen and son-in-law Reagan Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Clarence, Donald and Thomas, sisters, Dorothy and Helen, husband Reynolds, and son David.
She is survived by one brother, Claude Santee of Albrightsville, PA, her daughter Helen Peterson and son-in-law, Reagan Peterson and many nieces and nephews. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. Written condolences can be sent to Helen Peterson, PO Box 2017, Bandera, TX 78003.

LUTHER FOWLER JAMES
Luther Fowler James, 71, of Bandera passed away, Aug. 1, in a San Antonio hospital.
On September 30, 1931, he was born
in Kerr County, to Annie Mary (Dugosh) and William Wallace James, being their youngest of seven children.
He grew up in Bandera and graduated in 1951 from Bandera High School where he was active in sports.
In 1952, he was employed by Continental Oil Company at Purple Sage Ranch, the company's recreation, training, and conference center near Bandera.
In 1992, he retired after having served as manager at Purple Sage Ranch for more than 30 years, and was honored with a retirement party by Conoco, his co-workers, friends, and family.
He was a 25-year member of the Woodmen of the World and a member of the Bandera Gun Club.
Luther enjoyed hunting and never gave it up until the very last.
Survivors include a daughter, Dianna Siismets and husband, Mark, and Mitzie of Houston, sons, Howard Lee James and wife, Annette, and Brian Luther James and wife, Karen, all of Mesquite, brothers, John G. "Johnnie" James and wife, Elizabeth, and Casper Lee "Cap" James and wife, Helen, all of Bandera, a sister-in-law, Nona James of Adkins, grandchildren, Steven, Kevin, Nick, and Megan of Mesquite, the mother of his sons, Joyce Meeker of Mesquite, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Louise Robinson, and brothers, Leslie, Bill, and Wallace James.
Funeral services were Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera with Rev. Cheryl Owens officiating. Interment
followed in Bandera cemetery
with Barry Johnson, Richard James, Bruce Cherry, James Duff, Greg Schmidt, Ozzie Aguilar, Gary Schmidtke and Thomas Schmidtke serving as pallbearers. Named as honorary pallbearers are his grandsons and Carl Johnson. ELIZABETH JANE CRAWFORD
Elizabeth Jane Crawford, 84, of Bandera, passed away Saturday Aug. 9 in a San Antonio Hospice Center. She was born
May 21, 1919 in Pryor, Oklahoma to Charles Robert and Eleanor Jane Gilbert Crawford. "Betti" lived in Corpus Christi from 1955 until 1981 then moving to Camp Bandina, Bandera. She was a resident of Riverhills Care Center and she was a member of the Bandera Church of Christ.
Survivors include one brother, John R. Crawford of Victoria, two nephews and their six children. She was preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Bandera Church of Christ. Arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapel Of Bandera.
MRS. THERESA CIELENCKI
Mrs. Theresa Cielencki, age 82, of Bandera, passed away Thursday, Aug. 28 in a local care center. She was a descendant of the original Polish settlers, and was born
on Feb. 24, 1921 in Bandera to Dominic and Annie (Anderwald) Dugosh. On May 8, 1943, in San Antonio, she married
Raymon Joseph Cielencki. They made their home in San Antonio before moving back to Bandera in 1970. Mrs. Cielencki was employed by Bandera Independent School District as a member of the cafeteria staff for ten years before she retired. She was a devout member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Grimes Funeral Chapel with Bobby Stein officiating. Funeral mass was at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Saturday, Aug. 30, with Father Stan Oleksy as celebrant.
Interment followed in the Catholic Church cemetery
with Kenneth Dugosh, Richard Dugosh, Mike Weatherby, Perry Watts, Jr., Wally Butler, and Kenny Cellmer as pallbearers. Surviving are her husband, Raymon J. Cielencki of Bandera; 3 daughters: Beverly Cielencki of Bandera, Mary Duffy of Bandera, and Sandra Kinsey and husband, Jimmy, of Medina; a son, Raymond M. Cielencki and wife, Shirley, of Bandera; 4 grandchildren: Pamela Duffy, Joseph, Tracy, and Janet Cielencki; numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her family, and was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Hubert, Clem, Frank, and John Dugosh, and 2 sisters, Matilda McNeese and Balbina Weatherby. Memorials may be made to the National Alzheimer's Foundation.
LAWRENCE CLIFFORD HENRY
Lawrence Clifford "Hank" Henry, Sr., age 81, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, June 8. He was born
in Laredo on Aug. 18, 1921 and raised by his maternal grandmother, Victoria Thompson, in San Antonio.
Hank joined the Army Air Corps at the age of 16 and was at Hickham Field, Hawaii on Dec. 7, 1941. He met Virginia Marye Holben in Salt Lake City when he returned from duty. They were married
on June 12, 1945 and had two children, Donna Jean Roberts and Lawrence Clifford Henry, Jr.
Hank worked for Braniff International Airways for 24 years. He retired and began to contract and build custom homes. Hank enjoyed teaching family and friends to water ski at Medina Lake, growing his garden, watching fruit and nut trees grow. He enjoyed carpentry and building beautiful cabinetry. He also loved working in his orchard of pecan trees. Known to grandkids and great grandkids as "Paw Paw", Hank enjoyed having them around - watching them play and grow. He was a member of the Davy Crocket Lodge No 1225 and also a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Bandera.
Henry is survived by his wife, Virginia, of 58 years; children, Donna Jean Roberts and Lawrence Clifford Henry, Jr.; grandchildren, Alice Marye (Lisa) Clayton, Patricia Avone Tipping, Kristine Suzanne Miller, Timothy James Henry; and great-grandchildren, Garrick Zade Clayton, Forest George Clayton, Anthony Edward Miller, Patrick Lawrence Miller and Kelsea Blake Tipping. Services will be Saturday, June 14 at 10a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Bandera. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Grace Lutheran Church and/or Vista Care Hospice, 5815 Callaghan Rd, Ste 102, San Antonio, TX 78228. Arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera.
FRANKLIN MARION LESPREANCE
Franklin "Blackie" Marion Lespreance, 78, of Camp Wood died
Aug. 9, at his residence. He was born
on March 25, 1925 in Galveston to Ida Doris Hobbs and Alfred Lespreance. He served his country proudly in the US Marine Corps during World War II and Korea. Blackie worked his entire life as a carpenter. He will be remembered as a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
He is survived by his wife Jane Lespreance, children, Janice Calmet, Franklin Jackson Lespreance, Twila Monique Lespreance, Joyce Ann Lespreance, Doris Jane Mitchell, L. Larencene Lespreance, Loretta Lois Bailey and husband Joe, Freda Ray Pittman and husband Corkey, Shiela Kay Freeman and husband Casey. Also, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers. Alfred and Lawrence Lespreance, sisters, La Dean Maner, Utevia Daniels, Bobalene and husband Sonny. He will be loved and missed by many other family members and friends.
Visitation and viewing was Aug. 14 at the First Baptist Church of Medina.
Funeral services followed at the First Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Moseley officiating.
Pallbearers were Corkey Pittman, Randy Sivits, Brian Stoy, Joe Bailey, Casey Freeman, Travis Pittman, Jon Van Dusen, Mathew Lespreance, Any Ward, honorary pall bearers were Ricky Maner and Jerod Lespreance.
All Funeral Arrangements were under the direction of Wright's Funeral Parlor, in Kerrville.
FRANK W. ADAMS
Frank W. Adams, 90, of Medina, died
Sunday, Sept. 14, in a San Antonio Hospice House. He was born
October 2, 1912 in Marshall, to Archibald Gray Adams, Jr. and Kate Wilson Adams. The son of a banker, he was raised in Jacksonville, Texas where he attended Lon Morris College. After earning a BA in Business Administration at University of Texas at Austin, he worked for Montgomery Ward in Chicago, He joined the Army before World War II, serving in the Quartermaster Corps in France and Germany.
He married
Elaine Vaught on Aug. 12, 1944 in Akron, Ohio and settled in Pittsburgh. He worked for Mellon Bank, First National Bank of Ft. Worth and Holiday Inns of America.
His connection with the Hill Country began with his marriage to Elaine. After his father-in-law died, he went into the cow-calf business with Hugh Carpenter. He moved to the T-Anchor Ranch in 1977 and lived there until selling it in 2001.
Survivors include daughter, Anne Adams of Austin, sons, Frank Adams, Jr, of Menlo Park, California, and George C. Adams of San Antonio, sister, Mary Katherine Huebel and husband John of Lake Jackson, brother, Robert Marshall Adams of Lake Jackson, and grandson, Johnathan Adams of Menlo Park, California. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine on May 7, 1993.
Services were Sept. 18 at the Medina United Methodist Church. Interment
followed in the Oak Rest cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Medina United Methodist Church or the Medina Community Library.
Arrangements were under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera.
