Billy Roy Caviness
1953-2010
Billy Caviness died on Saturday, August 28, at his home in Lakehills.
He was born March 24, 1953, in Houston to Ella Christine and Roy Lee Caviness, who both preceded him in death.
Before becoming disabled, which led to his retirement, Billy was a respected member of the Painters Union in Washington State.
The Caviness family has resided in Lakehills for approximately two years. Prior to relocating to the Hill Country, the family resided part-time in Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico. They also commuted to and from Billy’s home in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, and his in-laws’ home in Phoenix, Arizona.
Billy had a dynamic personality. He loved the great outdoors, hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He was also devoted to their family of dogs, both large and small.
Billy loved the Lord and was called by the Lord far too early. Only the good die young and he is now free as a bird – just like the words to one of his favorite songs.
He is survived by his wife of over 26 years, Pamela K. and the couple’s 21-year-old son Roy W. Caviness. He is also survived by two brothers, Michael Lee and Jimmie Dale, their spouses and numerous nephews and nieces. He is survived by numerous cousins across Texas all of whom he never forgot even if he had not had much contact with them for many years. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Dolores Cothren, and brother-in-law, Gary Hodge, both of Phoenix, whom he loved as his own.
The world has lost a wonderful man who was greatly loved by his family and friends. As he requested, memorial services will be private and held at a later date for family and friends.
