June Brewer Abbott
1932 - 2016
“With So Much Love”
June Brewer Abbott went into the arms of our Lord at 11 am, Friday, May 13, in her home in Medina, surrounded in love by her first son, Thomas Wesley Abbott, and daughter, Terry June “Lakota” Abbott.
June was born on Oct. 3, 1932 in Granbury, a sharecropper’s daughter and the last of seven children.
As a child, she hardly had a pair of shoes to wear and didn’t own her first doll until she was 12 years old, but received her first Bible at the age of nine.
In 1950, she met her husband, Tom Abbott, of Fort Worth, rancher, paratrooper, game warden and wildlife specialist and conservationist. The couple fell deeply in love and married
on May 25, 1953. They were married
56 years but together for almost 60.
June leaves us in this earthly world with shattered hearts, yet with the knowledge of what a beautiful gift she was to our family and how gracious God was to bless our dear father with her as his loving wife, and bless her three children with an adoring mother – a woman of the most perfect unconditional love, unquestionable sacrifice, angelic beauty and strength and steadfast faith.
June leaves behind a granddaughter from son James, Jamie Abbott, who will soon bring forth a great-grandson to be named Deacon James.
She was welcomed into Heaven to join her late husband, Thomas F. Abbott III; second son James Ray Abbott; and her baby, Drifter, as well as all her other little animals she loved and cared for.
To say goodbye is beyond any pain one’s heart can bear, but by God’s Mercy and Grace we know we will always be together as a family through Him.
Momma, we will await daily for your sweet delicate voice, hold still for your loving touch and listen in quiet earnest for your profound guidance. So much love, Momma, so very, very much love …
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Margaret Brown
1961-2016
Beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Margaret Ann “Meg” Brown, 54, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 27, in Bandera.
She was born in Oconomowac, Wisconsin, on Dec. 26, the fourth child of Arthur and Kathryn Brown.
Meg grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin, graduated from high school in Woodbridge, Virginia and attended college in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Although she held various jobs, Meg especially enjoyed working at St. Stanislaus Parish and at the Mayan Dude Ranch.
She was a profound artist who was gifted in all media. Incredibly creative, she could depict virtually anything. Meg was also an avid reader who loved history and particularly enjoyed genealogy.
Meg also loved camping, nature and a good ole-fashioned fire crackling in the fireplace. She loved reminiscing about old family stories and definitely served as the family historian.
Meg will be remembered most for her illuminating smile, thoughtful words and positive outlook on life. Extremely compassionate and kind, she was genuinely concerned about the welfare of others. Meg was a beacon of goodness, performing countless charitable acts for fellow workers, family and friends.
She is survived by her mother, Kathryn Brown, of Bandera; and sons, Joseph Negard and Patrick Negard and his wife, Emily, all of Dothan, Alabama; Matthew Negard and his wife, Brittnee, of Gainsville, Virginia; and Jerome Herrera of Bandera. Meg also leaves behind her brother, Joseph Brown and his wife, Rena, of Bandera; sister Nancy Hicks and her husband, Greg, of Bandera; grandchildren, Haley and Thomas Negard; and former husband and close friend Jerry Herrera.
She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Brown, and father Arthur Brown.
A memorial mass will be held at 9 am, Tuesday, May 25, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera with Father John Nolan as celebrant.

Michael Ross on Oct. 10, 2010, in Johnson City.
Wendy served as an officer at Bandera Bank. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from INT on Long Island, New York.
A social butterfly, Wendy always enjoyed working with the public. Additionally, her family was very important to her – and she especially enjoyed being a mother to Kallie.
Wendy was also an animal lover.
She is survived by her husband, Jake Ross, and daughter Kallie Ross, both of Bandera.

Bodie Wagner
1956-2016
Bodie Wagner died Friday, May 20, from complications of cardiac issues from which he had suffered most of his life.
He was born August 26, 1956, in Corpus Christi.
In 1974, Bodie graduated from John Marshall High School where he played football and baseball.
He loved being outdoors and became the superintendent of maintenance and grounds at several golf courses in San Antonio and also at the Flying L in Bandera. More recently, Bodie managed athletic fields for the Bandera Sports Complex. He continued to work hard even as his health deteriorated.
Bodie had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and loved to do his daily devotions while listening to the birds sing. Everyday at 3:16 am, the alarm on his phone went off to remind him of John 3:16. Although his passing has left a huge hole in our hearts, Bodie truly knew he was heaven bound.
A friend to all, he never met a stranger and was funny, kind and compassionate. His final act of giving was participation in the Willed Body Program at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Although he did not want a memorial service, he wished that, when getting together, his friends share a few of the many “Bodie stories.”
Bodie is survived by his children, Sarah Jo Wagner and Sam Wagner; brothers, Michael Wagner and Paul Wagner; stepmother Gloria Wagner and her daughters, Diane Hutchinson, Laurie Rush and Cathy Schindler; loving girlfriend Janet Deitchle Mace; in-laws, Ron and Marte Willis; and stepdaughter Whitni Smith, as well as by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends left to treasure his memory.
Bodie was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Theo Wagner, and his previous wife, Shelli Posey.
Bodie’s companion, “Carlos the Wonder Dog,” who was rescued, encourages you to make a donation to the animal shelter in your area or – even better – adopt a new shelter pet.

Margie Keese
