Charlie Heinen
Mr. Charlie Heinen, 74, of Bandera, died
Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at his residence. He was born
Jan. 8, 1927, in Port Arthur, Texas to Harry Hubert and Florence Gladys Smith Heinen. Mr. Heinen was a Lutheran, and was an officer in the Merchant Marines during WW II, retiring after 21 years of service to his country. He married
Margie Lee Henager on Feb. 3, 1969, in Conroe, Texas. She preceded him in death on Sept. 3, 2000. Survivors include two daughters, Sharron Gibson and husband Randell, of Brazoria, Rhonda Bratton and husband Billy, of Bandera; three sons, Roger Heinen of Bandera, Charles Heinen of Palmer, Ark., and Michael Heinen, of West Columbia, Texas; one sister, Jane Smith, of Lake Charles, La.; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Mr. Heinen was also preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Hollier, and a brother, Harry Heinen. Services were scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 11 at Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera, with Rev. Joseph Watson officiating. Interment
followed at the Bandera Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brent Hollier, Brett Hollier, Kris C. Heinen, Harry H. Heinen III, Bubba Gibson and Randy Hollier. Honorary pallbearers were James Smith, Richard Smith, Gary Wright and Randy Zampini. Memorials be sent to: Vista Care Family Hospice, 420 Water St., Suite #104, Kerrville, Texas 78028. Arrangements were under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera.
Jimmy Watts
James (Jimmy) Rabon Watts, 81, died
Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001 in a local care facility. He was born
Feb. 1, 1920, in Montgomery County, Texas. He married
Marjorie Frances Steen on April 29, 1944 in Houston. They lived in Bandera where he worked for the Bandera Electric Co-operative until they moved to Kerrville in 1958. There he worked for Plummer Funeral Home, the LCRA and several local accounting firms. Upon his retirement, he and his wife began a private bookkeeping service. Mr. Watts graduated from San Jacinto High School in Houston in 1938. He held membership in the Association of Former Students at Texas A&M University and was a former member of the Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge #1123 in Bandera, a current member of the Kerrville Masonic Lodge #697 and a friend to Schreiner University. He was a life member of the First United Methodist Church in Kerrville where he served on the finance committee, as an usher and as a teacher. He is fondly remembered for his work at the Auld Youth Center. Mr. Watts was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Honey, in 1988. He is survived by two sons: Jerry Watts Sr. and his wife Doris of Bandera and Hal Watts of Kerrville; two daughters Carolyn Bevans of Kerrville and Jan Richeson and husband Rich of Plano; grandchildren Jerry Watts Jr. of Houston, Shannon Bevans of Austin, Lauren Bevans and fiancée Roland Rodriguez of Austin, Lesley Hughes of Dallas, Renee Richeson and Will Richeson of Plano. A memorial service was held at First United Methodist Church Friday, Nov. 16. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Peterson Home Care, 1420 Water, Kerrville, TX 78028. Kerrville Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Steve Stevenson
Virgil 'Steve' Stevenson, 88, of Utopia died
Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001 in a Pearsall hospital. He was born
April 28, 1913 in Ann, Texas to Guy and Norma Crumer Stevenson. On July 7, 1941, he married
Ramona C. Tampke in New Mexico. She preceded him in death on March 3, 1979. Mr. Stevenson was a Methodist and a Master Mason, having received a certificate in September of 1991 for 25 or more years as a Mason. Survivors include three stepsons: James Tampke and Glen Ray Tampke of Utopia and Billy Joe Tampke of Devine. Graveside services were held Friday, Nov. 16 at Ft. Sam Houston National cemetery
with the Rev. Joe Walts officiating. Arrangements were by Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera.
John Trawick
John Herschel Trawick, 65, of Lakehills, died
Nov. 13, 2001. He was born
Oct. 16, 1936 to Lethrum Trawick and Myrtle Arms Trawick in Adams, Tenn. He worked as a maintenance man for many years. He married
Ellen Krejci on Sept. 20, 1961 in Boerne. He is survived by his loving wife Ellen Trawick of Lakehills; two sons, Steven Joe Trawick of New Mexico and Terry Allen Trawick and wife Hope Trawick of California; one daughter, Sonya Kay Trawick of Bandera; one brother, Allen Trawick of California; one grandson, Austin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at Ft. Sam Houston cemetery
in San Antonio with Chaplain Jack Cook officiating. All arrangements were under the direction of Wright¹s Funeral Parlor of Bandera.
Richard Agent
Richard Agent, 45, of Utopia, died
Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001 at his residence. Arrangements are pending and when complete will be announced by Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera.
Katharine Redden
Katharine E. Redden, 95, of Utopia died, Nov. 17, 2001, at her residence. She was born
July 5, 1906 in Louisville, Ky. Her first marriage was to Willie McNair in 1923 in Utopia. He passed away in 1935. Her second marriage was to Paul Redden in Wilcox, Ariz. in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. Redden is survived by her children, Willestell Howell of Ballinger; Ray Redden and Roy Redden, both of Utopia; Wanda Neely, Castroville; Wilma Kindred, Hondo; and Burton McNair; 32 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, 18 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Austin, Henry, and Clifton Lewis; and three children, Crawford McNair; Betty Jo Shaefer; and Nadine Haby. Of the nine children, there were three sets of twins. Services were held Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Utopia Methodist Church. Interment
will be held at Jones cemetery
in Utopia, officiated by Rev. Kent Kepler. Arrangements were by Kushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary of Uvalde, Texas.
Tom Sosebee
Tom Sosebee of Bandera died
Monday, Nov. 19 [2001]. A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 25 at the Copper Lantern on Wharton¹s Dock Rd at 2 p.m.
Jules Herlihy
Jules W. Herlihy, 77, of Pipe Creek, died
Nov. 22, 2001 at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Joan; seven children and four grandchildren. Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 26 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were by Olinger Mortuary Service of San Antonio.
