Sharon Ann Peck-Jones
1949-2015
Sharon Ann Peck-Jones, 66, born Sharon Ann Smith of Pipe Creek, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 16.
She was born in West Point, New York, on Feb. 8, 1949 to Dora Bagby and James R. Smith. She married
Dennis Peck in 1971 in San Antonio, and later married
Peter Jones in 1997 at Grace Lutheran Church in Bandera.
Sharon attended school in San Antonio, graduating from Robert E. Lee High School and working as an insurance underwriter for many years.
Sharon later attended University of Texas San Antonio where she earned a Master's Degree in English, along with several distinguished honors.
Not only a Sunday-school teacher, she was also an extremely talented artist, art teacher, substitute teacher and an award-winning cook.
With her golden smile and beautiful laugh, Sharon became the light and the warmth of any room she was in. She deeply adored her pets, travel, reading, English literature, writing, studying history and cooking. Above all, she loved being around family.
To that end, Sharon whole-heartedly loved and cared for her son, Daniel, and her son Adam, who was born with several disabilities - all while being disabled herself.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Peter Jones; sons, Adam and Daniel; brothers and sisters, Bruce Brucks, Gaylynn Medina, Susan Brucks and Keith Brucks; father James R. Smith; grandchildren, Denali, Willow, Melody, and Eve; nephews and nieces, Chris, Cody, Jeremy, Josh, Andrew, Amanda, Brittany and Audrey; and her daughter-in-law, Deidra.
Funeral services were held Jan. 2, at Grace Lutheran Church in Bandera Texas with Minister Russ Lambert officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Sharon's name to reputable charities for autism and child abuse.
George A Reusch III
1939-2016
George A Reusch III, 76, beloved husband to Laura and father to his loving children, Elizabeth Reusch Keith and her husband, Robert, and Frank W. Reusch, passed away Saturday, Jan. 2, in San Antonio.
A long time resident of Bandera, George was born in Covington, Kentucky, on Oct. 3, 1939, to George Reusch II and Ruth Bandendistel Reusch.
At the age of 17, he enlisted in the military and retired from the United States Army after serving for 21 years. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) and the Good Conduct Medal.
George's Catholic faith stayed with him throughout his life and as a young boy he served as an altar boy.
He worked for the railroad and as a real estate agent. George also stayed busy with his enjoyment of volunteering, playing golf and working area festivals for many years.
George was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Reusch.
He is also survived by his grandsons, Corey Keith, Jason Keith, Justin Reusch and Ryan Reusch; stepchildren, Jerry Walton and Kerry Walton; his brothers and their wives, Jim and Sundra, John and Priscilla, Tom and Marcia and his late brother Robert's wife, Marjorie; and sisters- and brother-in-law, Pat Ischy, Sue Wiggs and Raymond Wiggs and his wife, Vennetta, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews and multiple friends.
A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Linda Jane Ross
1943-2016
Surrounded by her family, Linda Jane Ross, 72, of Tarpley, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 25, in San Antonio.
She was born in Elkin, North Carolina, on May 20, 1943, to Russell and Nadine Pardue. Linda married
Lawrence Earl Ross Sr. on Oct. 5, 1963, in San Antonio.
Employed in the banking industry for over 40 years, Linda chose to work the night shift for a time in Houston to avoid putting her young children in daycare.
A consummate mother and homemaker, Linda was loved by many. She dedicated her life to her husband and children. Additionally, she always treated close friends like family and made them feel welcome - no matter how busy she was with her own family, her job and life in general.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Larry Ross, of Tarpley; sons, Earl Ross of Estes Park, Colorado, and David Ross and his wife, Donna, of San Antonio;
daughters, Melissa Henderson and her husband, John, , of El Paso, and Donna McCutcheon and her husband, David, of Schertz; sister Penelope Simmons and her husband, Sam, of Thurmond, North Carolina; mother Nadine Pardue of Elkin, North Carolina; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren Austin, Fiona, Sydney, Olivia, Ashleigh, Zachary, Braylon and Dawan.
Linda was predeceased by her father, Russell Pardue, and sister Jodine Pardue.
Graveside services will be held at 10 am, Friday, Jan. 29, at the Tarpley cemetery, officiated by Reverend Dick Sisk.
Mae Belle Walsmith

Mae Belle Walsmith, 99, of Bandera, passed away Feb. 1, in Fredricksburg.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 am, Saturday, Feb. 6, at Grimes Chapel of Bandera, with Mr. Martin Smith officiating.
Neva Joyce Fleenor Rutherford
1932 - 2016
Surrounded by her loving family, Neva Joyce Fleenor Rutherford went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Jan. 20.
Neva and her identical twin sister, Eva Loyce, were born on March 1, 1932, to Ola Mae Eckhart Fleenor and Benjamin C. Fleenor at the family ranch in Bandera County.
Growing up, Neva enjoyed training her trick horse while Eva enjoyed spinning ropes. Many times one twin was mistaken for the other - which always gave the girls a big chuckle. Still today, many people fail to realize that they were speaking to the other twin.
Neva liked sports and enjoy participating in the Bandera High School Band and choir. She played every percussion instrument in both high school and college. Neva was also an accomplished pianist and organist.
She graduated from Bandera High School in the famous Class of '49, a very small class that stays in touch with one another to this day.
In 1952, after graduating from Texas Woman's University with a Bachelor of Art Degree, Neva moved to Houston where she managed the engineering department of three large office buildings in the downtown area.
On November 19, 1960, Neva married
John T. Rutherford at the First United Methodist Church in Bandera. The couple founded the first data processing company during the 1960s in Houston.
They enjoyed boating and deep sea fishing. After obtaining their Marine Electronics Certification, John and Neva became great day and night time navigators in the Gulf of Mexico. After retiring in 1983, the couple moved to Powderly and enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States.
After her husband passed away on March 17, 2004, Neva continued to run their business and farms. She served as an elder at the historic Chicota Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her sister, Eva Loyce Fleenor Page; nephews, Rick Aratoon of Paris, Texas; Rex Ashley and his wife, Natalia, of Buda; and Dr. John Cozart and his wife, Terrie, of Texarkana, Arkansas; and nieces, Cari Joyce Pearlman and her husband, David, of Southlake; and Stephanie Harmsen and her husband, Doug, of New York, New York, as well as by several great-nieces and great-nephews and special friends and caregivers, Jana Leverton and Teresa Donham.
Neva was predeceased by her parents, husband and sister-in-law Gretta Cozart.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 23, at Chicota Presbyterian cemetery in Chicota with Pastor Rev. Justin J. Hilliard officiating
Herbert Leon Randle
1929 - 2016
Herbert Leon "HL" Randle, 86, of Lakehills, passed away Monday, Jan. 25, at his home in Lakehills.
He was born in Houston on March 4, 1929, to AC and Emma Mae Randle. HL married
Susie Ethel Johnson on Nov. 23, 1949, in Port Acres.
He attended 21 schools before graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School in Port Acres in 1949 as class valedictorian. Prior to moving to Port Acres, HL attended La Vega High School in Waco, where he played on the football team.
A person of many talents, he served an apprenticeship in commercial refrigeration. He worked for a time in that industry, but quit after being told he could not take a day off to get married
.
HL then worked for the Jefferson County Mosquito Control Department, and was promoted to acting director at age 21. He later worked in bakery maintenance in Corpus Christi and for the Reynolds Metal Company for 10 years.
While living in Corpus Christi, HL owned and built stock cars, racing in Texas and throughout the Midwest with IMCA Racing Association.
As owner of an independent auto repair shop, he served as president of the Corpus Christi Independent Garagemen's Association. He helped implement an apprenticeship program in the association and trained the first full-time apprentice in the program.
He and his wife moved to Houston where HL worked for Sam White Oldsmobile for several years, training apprentices there. For a number of years, he was top mechanic in the southwest.
Later, he and his wife moved to Eagle Pass where they owned and trained Quarter Horses, operated a hunting lodge, raised cattle and pecans. The couple moved to Lakehills in 1995.
He also served in the National Guard for three years.
HL loved traveling to Aruba and Jamaica and cruising the Caribbean. He also enjoyed traveling in the motor home to Padre Island and the Big Bend. An accomplished songwriter and guitar player, HL sang daily with his Great Dane, Herbert, as they serenaded his loving wife and favorite niece.
HL is survived by his loving wife, Susie Ethel "Essie" and their faithful Great Dane, Herbert; grandson William Randle, and his wife, Laudette; great-grandchildren, Nicole and Leon Alexander of Corpus Christi; daughter-in-law, Linda Randle of Corpus Christi; sister Shirley Randle Kethley and her husband, Leon Kethley, and their children of Port Arthur; sister-in-law, Betty Flowers, of Binger, Oklahoma, and niece Sharon Flowers of Sulphur, Oklahoma; and sisters-in-law, Helen Randle of Pasadena and her sons, AC IV, Richard and Bob; Anna Mae Leysath and her children; and Carolyn Henderson and her children, as well as by many loving friends and extended family.
HL was predeceased by his parents; son Richard Mabry "Dicko" Randle; and brothers, Richard Mabry Randle and AC Randle III.
Graveside services were Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Pipe Creek cemetery, officiated by HL's nephew, the Rev. Paul Kethley, of Deer Park. Pallbearers were grandson William Randle; nephews Richard Randle, Robert Randle and Charley Leysath; great-nephew Josh Randle; and Jesse Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers were nephew AC Randle IV and Doug Franks.
The family extends special thanks to Doug and Helen Franks, Dr. David Friedman, the staff of eighth floor south at Methodist Hospital, Diana Corona and the other nurses and aides with Vitas Hospice and for all the prayers and support offered by everyone.
