Felix P. Blaschke
1922-2010
Felix P. Blaschke, 87, of Bandera, passed away on Friday, March 26.
He was born to Herman Joseph Blaschke and Myrtle Whitworth Blaschke on April 3, 1922, in Waring.
Felix was a member of many well-known organizations including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Republican National Convention.
He served his country in World War II as a Seabee in the United States Navy. He faithfully tithed and generously gave to his church and various charitable organizations locally and across the world.
Survivors include brothers, John C. Blaschke of Boerne, and Howard W. Blaschke and his wife, Fern of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Nell Smith Drenner and her husband, George, of Arlington; grandchildren, Brenda Smith Costello of Lakehills and her fiancé, Mark L. Miller; Gary W. Smith; Larry D. Smith; Wayne E. Smith and his wife, Brandy; W. Ray Smith and his wife, Pat; Dale E. Smith and his wife, Linda; Neda Smith; and Melba Smith; 12 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Surviving extended family includes Helen Hollis of Boerne; Clifton Kieschnick; and Joshua and Amy Jureczki and their children, Arthur, Cody and Kimberly of Bandera.
Felix was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Eugene Mullins Blaschke; sons, Lindy Smith and Robert Smith; grandsons, Judge Mike Smith of Bandera and Timothy Smith of Pasadena; grandson-in-law Larry Costello and great-grandson, Alex Smith. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Bandera Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Vista Care Hospice and Caring Senior Service for their loving care and support.
Viewing will take place at 10 am, Saturday, April 3, at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera followed by family visitation from 12:30 pm until 2 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm, officiated by Mr. Martin Smith. Interment will take place at Bandera cemetery.
Pallbearers include Larry Smith, Wayne Smith, Ray Smith, Dale Smith, Clayton Smith and Clifton Kieschnick. Honorary pallbearers include employees of the former Rodger Stevens Co. and current M&P; Construction Co., where Felix was employed for many years as a heavy equipment operator.

Vivian Velma Sutton Neal
1916-2010
Vivian Velma Sutton Neal, 93, of Bandera, passed away on Thursday, March 25.
She was born on May 14, 1916, to Samuel Preston Sutton and Francis Locker Sutton in Medina.
Vivian loved to take her three daughters and any of their friends camping on the family ranch. She was an amazing cook and her camp fire cooking was outstanding.
She is survived by her daughters, Versa Wood Miller of Dilley, Lica Woolls of Medina and Yturria Eckols of Seguin; son-in-law Wiley Eckols Jr.; grandchildren, Delbert Ducheneaux, Valerie Hunter, Wiley Eckols III and Sarah Eckols; two great-grandchildren, Cortland and Colby.
A memorial service was held Monday, March 29, at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera, with Brother Bill Moseley officiating.

Robert David Faircloth
1943-2010
Robert David Faircloth Sr. died in Willis on Sunday, March 28, with his wife and children by his side. There is peace now, knowing he is in no pain and catching all the fish he wants.
He was born to Captain Faircloth and Minnie Marie Smith in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, March 23, 1943. Bob traveled the world in his profession in which he was well respected. He truly loved his work and the people he worked with. A Master Mason, Bob was a member of Stephenville Lodge and Basin Lodge #20 in Roosevelt, Utah. There, he served as the Master of the Lodge for several consecutive years. He was also honored to serve the Grand Lodge of Utah in several positions.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lawanna Haslem Faircloth, of Willis; Dana Andrade and family of Kerrville; Robert D. Faircloth Jr. and his wife, Sharlene, and family of Salt Lake City, Utah; Michael Faircloth, Sheri and family, also of Salt Lake City; McClane Duncan, Sandra and family of Conroe; Kirk Duncan, Lindsay and family of West Point, Utah; Landen Brooksby, Sunny and family of Salt Lake City; mother Marie of Kerrville; and sisters, Janet, Judy and Gina as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm, Friday, April 2, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville. The funeral will be at 11 am, Saturday, April 3, at Grimes Funeral Chapels with a visitation shortly before the services. Burial will follow directly at the Oak Rest cemetery in Medina.
Bob will be honored as a veteran since he served proudly in the United States Navy.

Mayme Hunter
1912-2010
Mayme Powers Hunter, 97, passed away Sunday, April 18, in Georgetown, Texas.
The second of four children – all now deceased – she was born on Sept. 27, 1912, in Taylor, to Thomas Chester and Carlie Gossett Powers.
Mayme graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1930 and from Texas A&I; in 1934. She taught school in Corpus Christi and in the London community. She also attended graduate school at the University of Colorado at Boulder before marrying J. Marvin Hunter Jr. in 1942. Her husband predeceased her in 1999.
During their many happy years together, the couple raised four children and made their home in several communities, including Ingleside, Baird, Grand Prairie, Kerrville, Bandera, Hereford, Canyon and Amarillo in Texas, and Buffalo, Wyoming.
Throughout their married
years, Mayme worked alongside Marvin in their newspaper and printing businesses. She also taught primary grades in Kerrville and Hereford, and organized the first Head Start program in the Bandera school system.
Mayme belonged to Delta Kappa Gamma, Texas Retired Teachers Association and the Church of Christ. She spent her last few years at the Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown.
Mayme is survived by four children and 10 grandchildren – daughter Elmyra Mitchell of Boise, Idaho, and granddaughters, Wanda Holcolm, Jackie Dailey and Margaret Holaday; son Jack Hunter of Dallas and grandsons, Jay Hunter and Bob Hunter; daughter Dolores Ferrell of North Richland Hills, and grandchildren, Debbie Self and Rob Ferrell; and daughter Carlie Burdett of Georgetown and grandchildren Bliss Pak, Shannon Burdett and Dorie Pickle.
Additionally, Mayme is survived by 21 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law OD Oxenreider of Alexandria, Virginia; and sister-in-law Celine Hunter of Helotes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 24, in Bandera with a viewing at Grimes Funeral Chapel, 1214 Mulberry Street, between 9 am and noon. A graveside service at Bandera cemetery will follow at 2 pm.
Pallbearers include grandsons Jay Hunter, Bob Hunter, Rob Ferrell and Shannon Burdett and grandsons-in-law Minsok Pak and Ben Pickle.
Following the graveside service, friends and family are invited to gather for light refreshments at River Oaks Inn, 1203 Main Street.
Memorials may be sent to the Medina Children’s Home, 21300 State Highway 16 North, Medina 78055.

Mildred Cornwell Warrick
1924-2010
Mildred Cornwell Warrick, 85, of Waco, passed away, Friday, April 16, at her residence.
She was born April 28, 1924, in Dallas, the daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie Ogles.
Mildred was raised in Waco and later moved to Beaumont where she lived for many years before relocating to Bandera, where she enjoyed raising her goats.
She retired from Sears Department Store and kept herself busy by traveling and her many hobbies. She had the opportunity to travel the world. There was nothing that Mildred could not do. Her other hobbies included wood working, oil painting, sewing, golfing, and being a part of the garden club.
She is survived by her son, James Hunt and his wife, Christa, of Waco; daughter Kathy Delson and her husband, Don, of California; grandchildren, Norbert and Jeannie Schmidt of Elm Mott, David Hunt of Waco and Judy Hunt Nath and Chris Nath of Mansfield; brother Jerry Ogles and his wife, Dorothy, of New York; eight great-grandchildren; and nephews, David Ogles and his wife, Wendy, of Waco, and Les Ogles and his wife, Cheryl, of New York.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Labora Sharp and Gloria Woodruff, who took exceptional care of Mildred, with special thanks to Paula Eubanks of Texas Home Health, and Tim Smith, RN, of Providence Hospice.
