ROGER WHEELIS
Roger Wheelis, age 47, of Pipe Creek, died Monday May 12, in a San Antonio hospital.
He was born June 17, 1954 in San Antonio to Billy C. Wheelis and Barbara Nell Reichel Wheelis.
Wheelis served in the U S. Merchant Marines, had been a surveyor and had worked as a Butcher for many years.
Survivors include his mother, Barbara Barikoviak of Pipe Creek, half brother, Gene Wheelis of Kay, two half-brothers, Mike Chuter of Katy and Vince Chuter of Houston, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Wheelis, stepfather, Damian "Bart, " Bartkoviak and brother, Terty Wayne Wheelis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapel Of Bandera.
MARCILLE HOOK BRADSHAW
Marcille Hook Bradshaw of Round Mountain, age 76, married
to the late J.B. Bradshaw of Bandera, died Sunday June 8.
She was born on Jan. 25, 1927 in Laurel, MS and grew up in Houston.
She graduated from Texas Women's University.
She was an Associate Professor at the university of Texas and retired after 34 years and as a life member of the University.
She taught modern dance, tap & ballet.
Marcille is survived by her children and grandchildren, John and his wife Lavonne Bradshaw, their children Alfred and his wife Joanna Ramos, sister Nicole Ramos and great grandchildren Little Edward, Jackie Bradshaw, and her son Colt Cameron, Jennifer Bradshaw and her daughter Brandi Bradshaw, James Fredrick Bradshaw his wife Yolanda and his daughter Jamie.
Marcille Bradshaw, who had a heart of gold, was always gracious and never had a bad word to say about anybody.
She always loved to socialize and visit with anybody who knocked on her door.
She was well known in the communities of Cypress Mill, Round Mountain, Marble Falls and Johnson City.
She will be missed deeply by loving friends and family.
The funeral will be at the Croft Funeral Home at 2 pm on Wednesday followed by a graveside service at the Wenmoths cemetery in Cypress Mill on Wednesday. Reception will follow.
ANNA PEARL GABRIEL
Mrs. Anna Pearl Gabriel of Utopia died in Kerrville on June 5 at the age of 84.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanita and Floyd Luper, Sr. of Utopia; her grandchildren: Patti Rhae Espey of Houston, Wendy Raymond of San Antonio, Michael Raymond of Halton City, Debbie and John Stanush of San Antonio, and Floyd Luper, Jr. of Utopia; and ten great grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother, George Davis of Eureka, Ca., and a sister, Joy Denton of Amarillo.
She was preceded in death in 1992 by her husband of 54 years, Hamilton Thompson Gabriel.
Her fist love was always family, and she was the heart of the family.
She had a short career in photography, working her way up to manager of Culli's Camera Store in downtown Corpus Christi where she handled retail sales and portraits and also oil painting portraits for all Culli's stores.
She grew up in Corpus Christi where she lived a great portion of her childhood and young adulthood, moving to Gregory-Portland and retiring in Utopia, where she was seen volunteering at the Utopia Public Library.
Funeral services were at the Utopia Baptist Church in Utopia at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 7.
Interment will be in the Vanderpool cemetery in Vanderpool.
Memorials may be made to the Utopia Public Library or the Utopia EMS.

DONNA DUNHAM JONES
God called a special angel, Donna "Mema" Dunham Jones, home on Wednesday, May 14.
She was greeted in heaven by her father and mother, Donald Austin Dunham and Charlotte Dunham Cutrer, her sister, Priscilla Massengale, her beloved husband, Ronald Taylor Jones, and her son Ronald Taylor Jones II.
She is survived by her daughter, Desta Dunham Jones Crowley and husband, Tommy of Corpus Christi; her sister, Leslie Dunham Rohan and husband, Elton of Pipe Creek; her brother, Jeffrey Cutrer of Hawaii; her daughter-in-law, Christine Jones of Pipe Creek; three grandsons, Travis and Ty Crowley of Corpus Christi, and Aaron Simmons Jones of Pipe Creek, Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law, James and Jean Ann Massengale of Baytown, Bob and Sue Cuny of San Antonio, Claire and F. C. "Tino" Martinez of Comfort, Vassar and Glenna Jones of San Antonio, Johnette Gerbic of San Antonio; her special daughter, Annette Quick of Pipe Creek; her lifelong friends, Carolyn Thurmond of Pipe Creek; along with many others, as she never met a stranger.
She had numerous nieces and nephews.
Mema especially enjoyed watching her grandsons, Travis and Ty Crowley play football.
She was a true "tiger" in the stands.
She was an active and devoted member of the Mary Carroll High School Big Cat Booster Club.
Mema also enjoyed going to Las Vegas and the Texas Treasure Boat of Corpus Christi as she loved playing those slot machines.
Although we will truly miss her, we return one of God's brightest angels to Him.
Pallbearers are John Clark, David Mauer, J. T. Turner, Tom Shannon, Sr, Tom Shannon, Jr, Patrick Thurmond, Roger Thurmond, and Sheldon Quick.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Mary Carroll High School Football Team of Corpus Christi.
Visitation was Friday at Grimes Funeral Chapel.
Services were Saturday at 1 p.m. Grimes Chapel, with Rev. Henry Edgington officiating.
Interment will follow at Pipe Creek cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

MARIE KRUEGER
Marie Krueger, age 85, of Bandera, died Thursday, June 5, in a Kerrville hospital following a long illness.
She was born to pioneer Medina Lake residents, Alex Hubert Mangold and Mary Theresa Spettle Mangold in Castroville on Sept. 9, 1917.
After graduating from Bandera High School as salutatorian of her class, she attended Incarnate Word College in San Antonio.
On Oct. 19, 1939, in Bandera, she married
Frank Krueger who preceded her in death on May 5, 1967.
For over 40 years, she was employed in banking where she was loved and respected by customers and co-workers.
She served as cashier and a director of the First National Bank in Bandera for many years before it became Bandera Bank, after which she was employed in operations and customer service.
After retiring from banking, she served as a receptionist at Frontier Times Museum in Bandera for several years.
Marie was a life-long member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in which she was very active, serving as bookkeeper, a member of the Altar Society, and participating in other church-related activities.
She was also a member of the First Ladies of Bandera and the Heritage Quilt Guild.
Being blessed with many talents, she was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, and she enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include a sister, Constance Gerdes of Uvalde; a brother, Vernon Mangold and wife, Elouise, of Bandera; six nephews: Michael, James, Thomas and Paul Mangold of Bandera, and Stephen and Randy Gerdes of Uvalde; three nieces, Diane Bauml of Bandera, Melissa Houser of Grand Saline and Deborah Mangold of Boerne; numerous great nieces and nephews and many friends.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents.
Rosary was recited at at Grimes Chapel in Bandera on Sunday and funeral Mass was at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on Monday with Father Michael McManus officiating.
Interment followed in the church cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
Arrangements were under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera.
THOMAS BYRON CHENEY
Thomas Byron Cheney, Jr, 85, of Bandera, died Thursday, July 17, in a San Antonio hospital.
He was born March 31, 1918 in Normanna, to Thomas Byron Cheney, Sr, and Alice Moore Cheney.
Mr. Cheney retired from Civil Service where he worked as an electrician and he was a 50 year member of Bluebonnet Masonic Lodge, AF1219 A.F.A.M.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Elaine Cheney of Boerne, daughter, Sandra Genoway of San Antonio, sister, Emma Lee Carpenter of San Antonio, grandchildren, Crystal Lunsford of San Antonio and David Williams of San Antonio, and great grandchildren, Lane Tyler Williams, Trent Riley Williams, Kolby Mason Lunsford, and Kallie Brynn Lunsford.
He was preceded in death by sister, Geneva Chandler.
Services were Monday, July 21, at Grimes Chapel in Bandera, with Rev. Doug Johnson officiating.
Interment followed in Pipe Creek cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapel of Bandera.
WESLEY RON MORGAN
Wesley Ron Morgan, 39, of Bandera, died Aug. 13, at his residence in Bandera.
Mr. Morgan was born Aug. 7, 1964 in Kerrville, to Travis and Ann Morgan.
He graduated from Bandera High School.
He worked as a short order cook in the restaurant industry.
He was a song writer and enjoyed playing his guitar, he was always happy and his presence made others happy as well.
He is preceded in death by his twin brother Lesley D. Morgan, Stepson, Rodney McGehee; Grandfather, Walter Morgan and Grandmother, Lorena Burleson.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, LeAnn Morgan and their two children Emilee and Justin Morgan of Kerrville, parents, Travis and Ann Morgan of Bandera, grandmother, Evelyn Morgan of Kerrville, brothers, Wayne Morgan and his wife Mary of Bandera, and Steve Morgan and his wife Cammie of Medina, nieces, Kaila Morgan, Hailey Morgan, and Kimberley Morgan, nephews, Jason Morgan, Travis Morgan, and Zachary Morgan; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Graveside services were Monday, August 18, at Nichols cemetery in Kerrville, with the Rev. W.N. Perkins officiating and under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
WILLIAM R. CASTLE
Mr. William R. Castle, age 64 of Bandera passed away Sunday, March 28, 2004 at his residence.
Services will be Friday, April 2 at 2 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.
Interment will be private.
