Oleta Evelyn Stout
Oleta Evelyn Owen Stout, 77, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in a Hamilton, Texas, hospital.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 19, 1999, at Merriman-Archer Funeral Home in Throckmorton with the Rev. Derrell Marion officiating. Burial was in Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Merriman-Archer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stout was born June 3, 1921. Her husband, C.D. Stout, died in 1984. She was a nurse and lived in Seymour and Throckmorton before moving to Hamilton in 1990. She was a Baptist. A son, Michael Derrell Stout, died in 1996.
Survivors include two sons, Ken of San Bernadino, California, and Dickie of Fort Sumner, New Mexico; a daughter, Vicki Lynn of Abilene, Texas; a sister, Kathleen Machen of Seymour, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Linda C. Bennett
Linda C. Bennett, 51, of Seymour, Texas, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, in Wichita Falls.
A private family service was held at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bennett was born August 24, 1947, in Watertown, New York. She and William Bennett were married June 18, 1980, in Watertown, New York. They moved to Seymour in 1982, where they owned and operated Seymour Marine.
Survivors include her husband; five daughters, Bonnie Clark of Fort Worth, Cris Bullock of Atlanta, and Ruth, Cathy and Rena, all of Watertown, New York; a son, Frank E. Clark Jr. of Bossier City, Louisiana; and 14 grandchildren.

Katheleen O. Plummer
Katheleen O. "Kitty" Plummer, 78, died Tuesday, July 20, 1999, in a Wichita Falls, Texas, hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at First United Methodist Church of Seymour with the Reverend Larry Crumpton, pastor, and Dr. Edward C. Hart officiating. Burial was in Henson Cemetery in Red Springs, Texas, under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Plummer was born May 22, 1921, in Knox County, Texas. She and Glenn Wilson Plummer were married October 29, 1940, in Seymour. He died February 2, 1983. She lived in Knox County and Waco, Texas, before returning to Baylor County. She was a secretary and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Red Springs Home Demonstration Club. Her son, Ronald Rennike Plummer, died July 25, 1945.
Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Coombs of Henrietta, Texas; two sons, Terry of Lubbock, Texas, and Randy of Wichita Falls; a sister, Mary Jo Cowart of Carrollton, Texas; six grandchildren, Darin Plummer of Hillsboro, Texas, Lisa Cunningham of Lubbock, Karla Wright, Crystal Griffin, Dustin Plummer and Mindi Plummer, all of Wichita Falls; and six great-grandchildren.

Wanda Jones Cooper
Wanda Jones Cooper, 92, of Wichita Falls died Thursday, July 22, 1999, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with A.B. Martin, Jr., officiating. Burial was in Seymour Masonic Cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper was born March 1, 1907, in Baylor County, Texas. She and Walter Edward Cooper were married August 13, 1938, in Seymour. She graduated from Seymour High School. She was employed for many years as a central for the Haskell Telephone Company in Seymour. She lived in Seymour, Knox City and Odessa, Texas. She owned and operated the White's Auto Store in Arkansas Pass, Texas, for 30 years. She moved to Wichita Falls in 1996. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Cooper of Wichita Falls; a brother, Woodrow W. Jones of Fort Worth; and seven nieces and nephews.
Billy Glen Watson
Billy Glen Watson, 47, died Monday, July 19, 1999, in Wichita Falls.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at Faith Deliverance Church of God in Christ in Seymour with Elder L.C. Pierce and Elder E.E. Marks officiating. Burial was in Old Seymour Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Watson was born January 27, 1952, in Seymour. He and Barbara Newsome were married July 12, 1990, in Wichita Falls. He was raised in Groesbeck, Texas, and attended Washington High School. He lived in Groesbeck until 1970, when he moved to Seymour. He moved to Wichita Falls in 1988. He worked as a nursing home aide and also coached Little League football and volunteered at Paul Irvin Activity Center. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Maurice Johnson of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Sherry Walker of Oklahoma City; his mother, Pauline of Wichita Falls; three brothers, Charles and Johnny, both of Wichita Falls, and Francis Ray of Seymour; two sisters, Judy Lott and Donna Herring, both of Wichita Falls; and nine grandchildren.
Lillie Ann Hudnell
Lillie Ann Hudnell, 64, of Wichita Falls died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 23, at First Baptist Church of Dean, Texas, with Brother Steve Havener officiating. Burial was in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hudnell was born April 21, 1935, in Seymour, Texas, the daughter of the late August, Sr. and Carrie (Wasek) Ermis. She and Don Hudnell were married January 12, 1957, in Grandfield, Oklahoma. She lived in the Wichita Falls area for 55 years and the last 25 years in Dean, Texas. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dean. A daughter, Sharon C. Hudnell, died in 1981. She was preceded in death by two brothers, August, Jr. "Gus" Ermis in August of 1973 and Jerome "Jake" Ermis on June 1, 1975.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Donnie Britt of Plano and Ronnie Brad of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Irene Marx of Granbury, Texas, and Henrietta Pavliska of Eagle Lake, Texas; two brothers, Eugene Ermis of Wichita Falls and Wesley Ermis of Edmond, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mabel Esther Hampton
Mabel Esther Hampton, 101, died Saturday, September 4, 1999, in Wichita Falls.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, at First Baptist Church in Seymour with the Reverend Glenn Shock officiating. Burial was in Goree, Texas, Cemetery under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hampton was born April 10, 1898, in Newton County, Mississippi. She and Samuel Glen Hampton were married December 2, 1917, in Goree. He died August 30, 1975. She came to Knox County in 1912. She lived in Goree, where, at one time, she had substituted as rural mail carrier. She was acting postmaster from 1952-1954. She moved to Seymour in 1962 and then moved to Wichita Falls in 1990. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seymour and had taught Sunday School in Goree and Seymour for 65 years. She was a life member of the Pierian Club and a life member of the Santa Rosa District and Texas Federation of Women's Clubs. A daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Hampton, died in 1922.
Survivors include a daughter, Naomi Phillips of Dallas; a son, Jack of Houston; two grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Naomi Alice Beall
Naomi Alice Caldwell Beall passed away Wednesday, September 1, 1999, in Dorchester, Texas. Born October 29, 1912, to George Arthur Caldwell and Winnie Alice Caldwell at Thomas, Oklahoma, she later attended Southwestern State Teachers College in Weatherford, Oklahoma, where she met Oren Beall. They married June 25, 1935.
After Oren taught in Thomas, Oklahoma, the family moved to Seymour, Texas, where he was principal of the high school for 30 years. She was a devoted mother, raising four children there. Upon retirement in 1974, they moved to Dorchester, where they farmed and became active in their local community and church, the Dorchester Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Manuta Book Club and the Dorchester Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oren Beall.
She is survived by her children, Arthur and his wife, Barbara of Conroe, Texas, Margo and her husband, Charles Rice of Gunter, Texas, Ysleta and her husband, Steve Meek of Kansas City, Missouri, and Gilbert and his wife, Donna of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A gifted artist and an encouragement to all, we should endeavor to emulate her caring and giving nature.
Services were held Saturday, September 4, at 10 a.m. at the Dorchester Baptist Church with interment following at Hall Cemetery.
